1. Penfield High School
Returnable Bottle & Can Fundraiser
to benefit
Water for Sudan
When? ________________, December _________
Who? PHS Class of 2007 & Leadership Seminar
(including your neighbor: ______________________________)
Why? The PHS Leadership Class has teamed up with Water for Sudan, a non-
profit organization founded by Salva Dut. Mr. Dut was one of the
Walking Boys of Sudan who fled the war-torn southern regions of his
African country during the mid 1980’s. Today, he is giving back to his
homeland by building wells to supply villages with clean, fresh water.
Our goal: Raise $5,000, the cost to build and install one well in Southern Sudan.
How can I help? Students will be collecting returnable bottles and cans to help
raise money. We will be going door to door between 10AM-3 PM
asking for cans and bottles; or you can also leave a bag of cans outside
of your house by 10 AM, and we will pick it up.
Any number of bottles and cans will be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to
supply any cans or bottles but would still like to contribute, please contact our
teacher, Mr. Christoper Kantz, at Christopher_kantz@penfield.monroe.edu. Thank
you for your support!
