• Malabsorption in endolymphatic sac or
blockage in endolymphatic duct
• Endolymphatic hydrops (dilation of
endolymphatic space)
• Otitis media
• Head injury
• Virus
8. Surgical management
• Endolymphatic sac decompression:
shunt or drain is inserted in endolymphatic
sac through post auricular incision.
• Vestibular nerve sectioning: cutting the nerve
prevents the brain from receiving input from
semicircular canal.
