Symptoms And Treatment Of Cold Sores
Don't wait to administer the cold sore home remedies after your blisters break out heavily. Start
using the remedies when you notice the tingling feeling.
Effective Cold Sore Home Remedies
It may be your time to try cold sore home remedies after other formal treatments have not fully
solved the problem. These sores are such a nuisance they go for a season and come back a gain. This
time, I thing we need more determined or robust home remedies for cold sores to deal with this.
Cold sores, sometimes called fever blisters, are small blisters that come up around the mouth and
nostrils.
They usually appear toward the end of a cold. The virus that causes cold sores is known as herpes
simplex virus. Most of us have natural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shake the bottle for the oils to mix evenly. Put the tightly closed bottle in a dark bottle in a cupboard
for a day where the temperature is not more that 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Clean up you cold sore and make sure it is dry and apply a drop to it about twice a day until the sore
is gome.
Vitamins are always necessary
L–lysine is a major booster
There is an amino acid called arginine which helps the herpes virus to multiply. This arginine can be
conquered by another amino acid called L–lysine which prevents the cold sores to spread. This L–
lysine, is an essential amino acid which is necessary for human health but the body can 't
manufacture it; it has to be gotten from food.
Use the L–lysine vitamins and supplements as suggested by the label. The dosages vary for a new
outbreak or preventive purposes.
Zinc plays important role in many things
Zinc helps the immune system to resist cold sores. It also strengthens the epithelial tissue on the lips
and the inside of the mouth to prevent cold sores from getting some foothold.
Observe the suggestion on the label and take as recommended. Many herbal specialists recommend
taking 3 mg of copper with it to reduce and prevent the recurrence of cold sore. However, find out

The Paleo Diet By Loren Cordain
The Lemonade Cleanse
In the article, "The Paleo Diet" by Loren Cordain, the author talks about America's fascination with
diet fads, telling readers about their widespread appeal as a "fix–all" for America's health problems
and obesity. I have to admit, like a lot of people, I am a bandwagon jumper. Whether this new fad be
a new fashion trend or a new video game sensation, chances are that I've tried it. And new diet fads
are no exception for me.
One of the things that has become popular today is the cleanse. Cleanses can take many forms, but
the main function of these is to detox the body. Many scientists, such as Dr. Joy Dubost, a dietitian
and food scientist, warn people to shy away from such cleanses that claim to give the body a total
detox. Dubost states that, "Your body has built–in mechanisms for detoxification, including your
liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system." Going on a cleanse is not going to aide these bodily
systems in doing their job. These are short–term diets that often consist solely of liquids that contain
very little caloric value and can often make going on a cleanse dangerous.
As a child, like many American children, I ate relatively unhealthily. For breakfast I would have
sugary cereal and lunch and dinner usually followed up with something equally bad for my health.
However, after each one of these meals I would dart outside to run around and play with my best
friend. My high energy and active lifestyle allowed me to get away with my diet at

Jicama Research Paper
Recipe #25: Jicama and Red Beets Infusion Serves 3 to 4 Ingredients:  1 piece, large jicama,
peeled, quartered  1 piece, large apple  2 pieces, large red or sugar beets, peeled  1 liter filtered
water  ¼ cup apple juice concentrate  ¼ cup honey You will also need:  A large pitcher or large
non–reactive container that will fit into your fridge Directions: 1. Using Blade A, slice the apple,
beets and jicama into thin disks. 2. Drop the fruits into the filtered water. 3. Stir in the apple juice
concentrate and honey. 4. Chill for at least an hour before serving. Always serve cold. Cooking tip:
to make it easier to fit oddly shaped fruits and vegetables within the brackets of the spiralizer, chop
off the ends evenly using a sharp knife. Then, with a vegetable peeler, shave off more problematic

This will extend its lifespan, and provide you more years of service. So here are a few easy tips you

still be better if you can scrub the blades using a dedicated brush. Sometimes, fruit or vegetable
fibers remain within the blades. These leftovers will contribute to the early decay of the metal, and
leave offensive odors. Buy a small scrubbing brush that you will use only for your spiralizer. 
Always wash the blades with soapy water to prevent scratches.  Always air dry or pat dry the
machine and its separate components before storing these away to prevent the metal from decaying.

Busn115 Week3 Assignment
BUSN115_Week3_Assignment
Scenario: – To open a Lemonade Stand in your local neighborhood.
Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst. What
is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in opening a
lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer season starts.
After a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that would work
efficiently in generating revenue and also help local community.
Brand:–
The brand name that I came up with is a catchy and trendy word which I think represents the
product and justifies the product's need in hot season. The brand name would be "GO–COOL" Real
Lemonade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pricing Strategy:–
Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye
on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though the
business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the
international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by
giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like
Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit
margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be
considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads
(labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2%
price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises
should make enough money to survive in the competitive market.
Global Market:–
Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to
have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as
we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to
give back to the community.
If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future

Burt's Bees Advertisement Analysis
Burt's Bees is known for its amazingly healing lip balm, however, it wasn't always this way. When
Burt's Bees was first established by Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz it was a candle company.
Since then Burt's Bees has flourished and became a worldwide brand, including a multitude of
health and beauty products. To further understand the advertisement and everything that went into
and still goes into Burt's Bees we first need to look at the founders and how the brand was created.
This is because to this day the advertisement is linked to the founders of the brand and what kind of
people they are reflecting onto the brand they have established. As we dive further into the
advertisement of Burt's Bees you will discover the similarity between the ... Show more content on

For this it is clear to see the improvement of the Burt's Bees' commercials when there are two being
compared to one another. The first commercial is the "Uncap Flavor: Fireworks" commercial that
launched over two years ago. This commercial involves some new fun flavors of the Burt's Bees lip
balms. They display this by having black and white doodles in the beginning of the commercial then
an explosion of colors like fireworks when all the lip balms are shown. The second commercial is
their most recent, "New Burt's Bees Lipstick Commercial." This commercial is displayed in a bright
green rainforest as the bold red lipstick slides down the wet leaves of the trees. This commercial also
has a very catchy love song in the background. When comparing the two commercials it is easy to
see the quality and attraction pull of the second commercial is greater than the first. The second
commercial stays true to the Burt's Bees natural, nature loving company while keeping an upbeat
positive vibe. Although the first commercial mentioned is also a positive one it is not as dramatic
with both contrasting colors as the first. I believe that Burt's Bees has stepped up their commercial
game and when I was looking for commercials to use in this essay "Burt's Bees commercial song"
was the top Google search about Burt's Bees that popped up. This shows that the advancement of
using a catchy tune makes the brand name memorable and

National Lemon Meringue Pie
National Lemon Meringue Pie Day in the United States
When life gives you lemons you should make not lemonade but lemon meringue pie. National
Lemon Meringue Pie Day is an unofficial national holiday in the United States of America. The
National Lemon Meringue Pie Day is celebrated the 15th of August.
Lemon meringue pie is a dessert pie that's constructed in three parts. The crust is a shortbread pastry
crust, the filling is lemon curd or lemon custard, while the top is a delicate and fluffy meringue. The
shortbread crust is prepared beforehand and is lightly baked before constructing the pie. The texture
and taste should remind people of a light cookie. The lemon custard is a standard custard made from
egg yolks, cream, sugar, and lemon juice. The meringue is constructed by beating the egg whites,
cream of tartar, and adding sugar at just the right time to create a fluffy meringue. The baker will

Meringue was perfected in the 17th century in France and lemon meringue pies started becoming a
staple in the 19th century. It is believed that the lemon meringue pie that we know today in America,
originated in Philadelphia. Elizabeth Goodfellow was a pastry shop owner who operated the first
cooking school in America in the 19th century. Her signature dish was her lemon pudding and one
day she thought to finish her pudding off with a top layer of meringue. This was a relatively new
concept in the world of baking because of how tricky a perfect meringue is to accomplish. Lemon
custards demand a lot of egg yolks and often the egg whites were going to waste. Since meringue
only calls for egg whites, cream of tartar, and sugar it seemed like a perfect solution to the waste
problem. The product was a huge success and Goodfellow continued to top her custards with
meringue. This resourcefulness led to a lemon meringue pie being created in

Descriptive Essay : Orange, A Beautiful Color
The One What if I told you something so simple and quotidian was actually complex and
completely riveting. To most people orange is just an occurrence between the red and yellow
spectrum. Maybe an orange is what you have in a bowl on your kitchen counter, patiently waiting to
be picked as a snack. Orange is not so simple or mundane as many may believe. At a very young age
I despised orange, the color as well as the fruit. The color reminded me of an unfavorable rusty
wrench. The fruit itself was lumpy and bravely bold, exhibiting an unconfident standoff with my
taste buds. This outlook is no longer true, yet now I truly believe orange is a beautiful color as well
as a delicious fruit. Orange is unique, symbolic, and full of history. To begin, orange is unique in
many way that you may not have thought of. Unique is being the only one of its kind; unlike
anything else. Firstly, were you aware that after chocolate and vanilla, orange is the world's favorite
flavor? You have to be something special to be in league with the "big boys". For the most part, the
more orange the peel is the more mature and sweet the fruit will be. Either way an orange is an
orange, the taste is relatively delicious across the board. Forthwith, many may say oranges are of the
very few fruits that have a bittersweet citrus taste. To the glory of bumpy, small thin packets filled
with sunshine, that is an orange. Secondly, the word orange has absolutely no perfect rhymes. To
clarify, the English

Asymmetric Analysis : Asymmetric Information Problem
In today's world, society has an abundance of options to choose from; whether it is the type of soda
they drink, brand of clothing, or type of car. Even within a certain product, there are so many
choices; for example, purchasing a car. Customers have the option to choose what type of car, the
size, color, year, and brand. When it comes to major purchases, such as car buying, most consumers
try to do as much research as possible before making a decision. And just like there are many
characteristics of a certain product, there is a substantial amount of available resources to help make
those kinds of decisions.
Asymmetric Information Problem However, what if a company did not release all of the information
of a product and knew something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What those advertisements usually do not say are the negatives that come with the car. While
companies may brag about how fast and powerful this new sports car is, it won't mention its
inefficiency in gas or the cost of insurance. Luckily, consumers do not have to rely solely on
advertisements and can help bridge the gap within the asymmetric information problem.
Market's Response The car market's response to asymmetric information is doing their research.
While the car ads may not show how many miles a car can go per gallon of gasoline, a quick search
on the internet can produce those results. There are many businesses dedicated for the sole purpose
of reviewing and comparing products. Even before the internet, car buyers were able to talk to
friends and neighbors and get recommendations from owners of a car they were interested in. There
are many consumers that remain loyal to a certain company, that they feel is reputable, due to past
their experiences with that company (Notte, 2014). The government has even step in to create laws
against fraud from automakers and car dealerships. Commonly referred to as "Lemon Laws", these
regulations set out to "protect the rights of consumers everywhere regarding automobiles, trucks,
motorcycles, RVs, boats, and other products, that continue to have significantly impairing

Lemonade : The Rocky Love Story Of It's Lemonade
The video begins in black and white with Beyoncé's soft–spoken voice stating the directions to her

visuals for All Night were captivating as it flashed various images and universal symbols of love and
life, personal moments such as wedding videos, pre and post pregnancy footage and of random
couples on the streets with footage of various sexual preferences and various colors and creed. This
video was the ending to Beyoncé's critically acclaimed rocky love story turned visual album

How to Make Lemonade Essay
How to Make Lemonade
Water is the most refreshing drink in the world, and probably the cheapest. People drink water
because it's easy to achieve and cost barely anything. Lemon is one of the worse kinds of grapefruit
people eat or doesn't eat at all. It taste extremely sour and even bitter if you eat the skin. But if you
add these two ingredients together, you get one of the most prolific drinks ever. There are hundreds
of ways of making lemonade. From whiskey lemonade to chocolate lemonade, there is a very wide

It cost around 65 cents for one pound of lemon, and cost 25 cents for 5 gallons of water. Without
these three ingredients, the drink will no longer be called lemonade. It is essential that a knife be
there to cut the lemon, a cup or a pot for the drink, and a stove pan to heat the drink. Later on, it is
necessary to have a blender for the ice. And the last important detail of the juice is the juice
squeezer.
First off, wash the lemons clean so there won't be any dirt or bacteria on the lemon. Use the knife
and cut the lemon in half so the juice can be easily squeezed out of. If you desire more juice from
the lemon, it is a good way to put the lemon in the microwave first for around 10 to 15 seconds.
After cutting the lemon and squeezing about 2 cups of juice into the cup or pot, add around 6 cups
of water. After adding water to the cup, add 1 and a half–cup of sugar to the juice and water. The
most important thing to remember is that the ratio of juice, sugar and water makes lemonade great
–– not too sweet, not too tart. I like 6 cups of water to 2 cups juice and 2 cups sugar. Adjust it to suit
yourself. Also, don't forget how great hot lemonade tastes in the winter when you have a sore throat.
You can freeze the lemon/sugar syrup for later use.
After all said and done with the first process, add the juice in the pan and heat it on the stove. Let it

Scurvy: How Can Science Help Prevent Dietary Deficiency Diseases?
Figure [ 1 ] Courtesy of Google Images
An Introduction
Scurvy is a disease which is caused by a deficiency of Vitamin C. A lack of vitamin C interferes
with collagen synthesis which is the formation of the body 's tissues. When the body cannot generate
collagen the tissue deteriorates. This causes a range of symptoms such as: * Gum disease * Anaemia
* Pains in the muscles * Pain in the joints
(Scurvy: NHS)
Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. Green
vegetables, such as broccoli or green beans. It also comes in other things for example sweet potatoes
and fresh milk. (26 Fruits) (Scurvy: NHS)

(Scurvy– The Mystery Disease)
In the 1900s scurvy was still not understood and a Norwegian scientist called Axel Holst, who had
been working on a cure to "beriberi", joined up with some other scientists and together they applied
their knowledge and discovered that, testing on guinea pigs, that: fresh cabbage, lemon juice, apples,
milk unless it was heated to 100 °C and sprouting grains and peas stopped guinea pigs getting
scurvy. (Scurvy– The Mystery Disease)
Figure [ 3 ] (Google Images)
Scientists concluded that scurvy was a dietary deficiency disease, it was not an infection and that it
occurred when there was a lack of a substance that was later called Vitamin C. (Scurvy– The
Mystery Disease) After Holst's discovery some scientists were not convinced and continued to look
for a "scurvy bacteria".
Another example of how science has been very helpful for the prevention of scurvy is that in 1805
the first refrigeration machine was invented by Oliver Evans. It was very useful because it inspired
other scientists and inventors to try to create and manufacture a refrigerator that would be affordable
and available to everyone. The fridge became commercially popular in 1880s and gained
recognition within families in the 1920s and 30s. At first, ammonia gas which is poisonous was used

Gilead And Red Hot Patriot : The Kick Ass Wit Of Molly Ivins
The plays that I chose to see were Balm in Gilead and Red Hot Patriot: The Kick–Ass Wit of Molly
Ivins. These two plays were very different, one play had many different people talking at the same
time and the other play was a one woman show. There are many elements that make up each play,
and there are also specific scenic elements that contribute to the tone. The first play I saw was Balm
in Gilead. The set of this play had five different levels; it had the ground level (outside), the diner
level, the bedroom level, and two upper levels that looked like an alley way overlooking everything.
The main level that the action took place in was the diner. This level looked so real; if you were to
walk into this area you would think it was a authentic diner from the 60's. There were booths for
people to set in, a counter area with bar stools, and there was a kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and
even some food. There wasn 't much going on in the outside looking sets of level one, four, and five.
But on level three, which was the bedroom, there was a nice bed. The sets of this play reflected the
theme quite well. The reason it reflects the theme was one, you could tell the play was based in the
60's and two, it had sort of a dingy feel which goes along with the characters, because they are
mostly prostitutes, drug dealers, or homeless people. The lighting of the play was mostly white light
with tents of amber. The diner area was brightly light, as you would expect in a diner;

The Importance Of Archetype In Today's Culture
Throughout the season of winter, a yellow zesty fruit blossoms from a tree with thorny branches and
white flowers with purple edges. This yellow citrus fruit is known as a lemon. In today's culture,
lemons are used for food, skin, hair, cleanings, and are even featured in an iconic American singer's
album. You do not necessarily eat a lemon as a whole. It is usually ingested by cutting it either in
half or in pieces, and squeezed for its juice. The acidic juice from a lemon has a very sour and bitter
taste but it is enjoyed by many. Adding lemon to a plate changes its whole flavor. Whether the dish
is sweet or spicy, it will change the way the entire taste of the dish. Here's a recipe that involves

Wrong. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word "lemon" is of course, Beyoncé.
She recently came out with a new visual album named "Lemonade." Highsnobiety.com (2016)
mentions that Beyoncé's sixth studio album debuted overwhelmingly positive reviews and was
described as "defiant," "brave" and "powerful," and many felt the visual album was one of her
strongest to date. My favorite song on the album is "Sandcastles." I believe that "Sandcastles" is one
of the most personal songs on the album; the most intimate. The video is simple and beautiful, as
well. Vulture.com (2016) announced that it was the first video to feature Jay Z [her husband]. They
also quoted that "it's one of the most intimate windows into their marriage they've ever allowed.
Here, she reaches "Forgiveness." When I hear the word "lemon," I automatically think of Beyoncé's
"Lemonade" because I went to see her in concert in Miami at the Marlins Stadium. It was, in fact,
one of the best days of my life. I got the tickets for my 18th birthday and took my significant other.
It just had happened that my best friend had also gotten a ticket so we all carpooled together and
listened to the album the whole way to the concert. When the album came out [which was in April, I
believe], it was the only thing I listened to up until the concert about two weeks later. I had learned
every single song on the album; even the order they were in. I practically lived "Lemonade". It was

Generally, at The Arc, we like to think that we're ahead of the curve, but it seems like our summer

Cooking in a rental or Airbnb kitchen can certainly pose some challenges, dull knives, flimsy plastic

The herb sauce that garnished our vegetables included fresh almonds plucked from the tree.
In the midsummer Algarvian dusk, we feasted on grilled sardines, steamed clams, grilled

Golfer Arnold Palmer said the worldwide phenom all started at a Palm Springs California, a small
restaurant from the 1960s. Palmer asked a waitress, "Would you make me an iced tea and bring
some pure lemonade?" she replied saying to him, "Sure," He went on describing to ABC news, "I
had a big glass of iced tea and I put lemonade on it and, boy, was it good! Well, a lady at a table
nearby heard me do that and she said, "I want a Palmer." Arnold Palmer is a combination of
lemonade and iced tea that has been drunk by many for years and still remains a very common and
popular beverage. Growing up, I loved to help my mother make Arnold Palmer on hot summer days
and with years of experience feel I've narrowed the drink down to a science. Many people change
small details but the key is to make the lemonade and iced tea go hand in hand for an amazing thirst
quenching experience. People settle for buying Arnold Palmer at stores and the fact is this can grow
to be very expensive. Homemade Arnold Palmer is an easy to make recipe that is certain to satisfy
any thirst one might have.
To make your first batch of Arnold Palmer a few things are needed. To start, a measuring cup is
needed so you know the precise amount of everything going to be used, with this you will also need
three pitchers being large enough to hold eight cups of liquid each. Now, you can make a serving for
up to 12 people, but if you want to serve more people

My Trip to London and the OXO Tower
I was recently reminiscing whilst I had a few minutes for my mind to wander around dreaming up
thoughts and memories. I came across a mementos day I recalled from not so long ago. Just as I was
to finish my thought, the telephone rang like a baby shrieking in its cradle. As my sisters voice came
blaring through the receiver, she was clearly in no mood for recalling past fun. Her questions came
all at once about washing powder. Something clearly a student studying medicine couldn't make
sense of. After she'd abruptly finished 'her' conversation I was back to thinking of the sights and
smells of London city.
The particular event I was recollecting was that of the past summer. The OXO tower South bank

and inviting log fire of a local café. Where upon arrival we would order a knickerbockerglory for
each of us. To which my father said "The first time I had one of these was, the Cresta Restaurant, on
holiday in Swanage in 1961". When they arrived our eyes lit up with excitement and the reflection
of the sparkler arising form the ice cream could be seen in our glistening eye's. There was a large
mass of ice– cream. In between, the cream had to jostle for space as the sparkles of glitter, added
that glistening touch like snow gleaming in the sun. The pudding placed before me at the OXO
Tower was a little less expressive with lemon zest for a garnishing and three perfectly shaped
spheres of lemon sorbet with a base of crumbled digestives. The lemons so yellow and the bowl as
white as a sheet of paper reminded me of a perfect daisy shining forth from the bland backdrop. The
perfect taste and outstanding presentation just reassured me of the chefs excellent artistic style, and
culinary skills. The fabulous food brought back memories of visiting Ray MtBlancs restaurant when
the food was similar in presentation, yet completely different in taste but no less incredible.

Herpes Simplex 1 Symptoms & Natural Treatment
There is a old misconception Herpes Simplex 1 only infects "above the belt" by manifesting as cold
sores. Herpes Type 2 was previously considered "below the belt" and caused genital lesions.
However, the medical profession has found oral–genital contact can spread either, so that types of
herpes have become virtually insignificant.
Let's define herpes. It is very contagious. It is transmitted by bodily fluids. Proper hand washing
precautions should be taken to keep the virus from a cold sore from spreading to the genitals. The
first time herpes symptoms appear is called the primary occurrence and it worse than recurring
outbreaks.
Symptoms generally occur within 4–7 days after contact. Initial symptoms are burning, chronic itch
or tingling. In a couple of days, pimply sores pop up on reddish skin. Later, the pimples
metamorphose into agonizing blisters.
When the blisters burst, they secrete blood and yellowish pus. Approximately a week after the first
symptoms, scabs form, which signals healing has begun.
While it is rare, it is possible for Herpes to spread to the eyes. This requires the speedy attention of a
medical professional.
A person can be infected and not know it. Symptoms may not show for some time following
contact, yet the person can still be contagious. This is because viral shedding occurs during the
tingling stage.
Of course, people who have active lesions shed the virus and are contagious.

Making lemon water is super simple. It takes less than 5 minutes of your precious morning time.

lemon.
Why use lukewarm (or room temperature) instead of cold or hot water to make this healing morning

should be lukewarm or at room temperature to slowly wake your body and kick start digestion.

Leaving Gilead: A Brief Analysis
It is astonishing how one seemingly minuscule decision can make the largest difference in the
timeline of ones life. In the story, Leaving Gilead, by Patt Carr, Geneva Birdsong, her daughter
Saranell, and their slave Renny, are on the road as a result of the civil war, which Geneva's husband
Ian, is fighting in. While traveling, they come across many instances where the love of Geneva's
heart and sanity of her mind is questioned. Geneva is unable to accept reality. While Geneva lives
her life on the Balm of Gilead plantation, her brain tells her the war is just a silly game, but more
and more of the people she considers as "friends," are dying every day. After several months of Ian
Birdsong, her husband, serving in the war, he makes a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While moving through the town, the Birdsong family and servants stop at the Culver residence for

inside was the furniture, witch were covered with sheets. Geneva thinks that Haze acted in revenge
and said this. "She never could forgive me for the fact that Haze and I–"(Carr 117). Just like Geneva
couldn't finish that statement, she could not admit to herself that she had made a mistake by
marrying Ian. This mistake was the first of many cascading mistakes that plagued her life and
further cascaded by influencing the life of young Saranell. Much like in Leaving Guilead, the novel
Death Be Not Proud, by John J. Gunther, the main character, Johnny, is unable to receive his
endgame and refuses to submit. He is diagnosed with a brain tumor and is informed after a critical
surgery to remove it, that he has no more that a few months to live and decides this. "(a) the tumor

and ends. Nothing could shake him from this belief.. He said, 'I' m afraid the tumor has gone to my
head,' and once he chorded ironically to Frances, his mother,' I must take my mind off my brain'"
(Gunther 63)! While both Geneva and Johnny have similar outlooks on life, the results they leave
them with are completely opposite. Johnny Gunther being unable to accept his fate was what
extended his life by many months and gave him joy, while on the other hand, Geneva's viewpoint
left her life miserable and still regretfully short. Therefore, much of being unable, is a conscious

The Bright Spot in My Day One morning bright and early, I went to the nursing home near my home

Set the lemon on a flat, level surface. Insert the galvanized nail through the lemon peel and into the
center of the lemon making sure that the point does not exit through the other side. * 2
At the opposite end of the lemon, using the paring knife make a small slit in the lemon peel. Insert
the penny into this slit and continue to push until only about a quarter of the penny remains above

In order to see the amount of voltage created by the lemon battery, a voltage meter is required.
Attach the red wire clamp to the penny and the black wire clamp to the nail in order to see the lemon
battery at work. 1. Shake and roll the lemon on a table to "activate" the juices in the lemon. 2. With

Beauty : Beauty And Beauty
At one point in time or another, you have seen a person use lip balm. Look at any advertisement and
you will see how we have fantasied about the different ways we can look sexy, but at what cost? We
always look for the fastest way to make ourselves look the best; however, we have turned a simple
concept, of making oneself feel beautiful into a war between artificial and natural beauty ads. Our
society has drilled into our minds that people who use artificial products to make themselves look as

beauty is natural beauty, what you naturally look like without any products. By using natural

The dry, cold air during winter can cause numerous skin problems such as dry and flaking skin thus
taking care of it should be on your priority list. Everyone has different skin types thus it is essential
that you consult a specialist or dermatologist when it comes to choosing the right product for you.
Make sure that you always read the labels before purchasing any skin care product. Here are several
skin care tips that can help you in keeping your skin healthy even during the winter:
Face

Skin can be damaged by using common household soap like deodorant soaps or those that contain
heavy fragrances, alcohol or antibacterial elements. These ingredients can further strip the essential
oils in the skin making it vulnerable to irritants and allergens. Choose a moisturizing bar or a creamy
body wash instead. Steer clear of those with harsh detergents like ammonium lauryl sulfate and
triclosan; instead, opt for those with gentle ingredients like cocamidopropyl betaine.
Use soap daily only on the parts that needs a good washing and those that usually affected by sweat.
Try to use soap sparingly for the rest of the body.
The best time to apply a body moisturizer is right after the bath or shower, preferably when the skin
is still damp since it can actually draw moisture into the skin from the outside. Choose also those
that are fragrance–free instead of unscented because it only means that fragrance are still used in
neutralizing any odor–causing ingredients.
Hands and Feet
Make it a habit to apply lotion in your hands after washing to minimize skin dryness.
Always wear gloves when outdoors. Keep an extra pair in your car and use it even when driving.
If your skin is usually dry, apply a thick layer of moisturizer before wearing gloves. This can help
the moisturizer seep into the skin better.
Apply a moisturizer on your feet the same time you're applying it in your body and face since cold

was a much better pitcher than I, but still I was not bad. Borys was the best hitter of us all, and he
made it known. He always made a point to make actions when he was up like the people The once
so clear and blue sky was filled with ashes and smoke. The bright shining sun was covered by a
sheet of grey. The warmth that radiated from the sun moments ago came so much more from the
blazing fire now. As the buildings were devoured by flames the cloud of smoke grew ever more. The
grey shadowed the city and swallowed the light.

The boys talked about cricket and friends, which wasn't unusual. My mom said something about
being grateful for her amazing kids. Probably for us more than her. A lot of the time she would say
little things around us but I'd hear her talking to him more later. That night when my mother thought
I had already gone to sleep I heard her up, talking to him. This was pretty normal but that night my
mother sounded more frantic than usual. She was babbling about some drill at the power plant the
next day. My mother worked at the big power plant in our city. Now I suppose that big power plant
is all anyone even remembers about where I lived. Before the accident though, our town thrived.
People were constantly walking on the streets, visiting the beach and my favorite, riding the ferris
wheel. We lived in the city of Chernobyl. My mother went on about how one of the reactors in the
plant didn't seem right to her. She was worried about the test tomorrow. She said she had tried to
express her worries to some of her colleagues but they wouldn't listen. No matter how smart or how
talented or how right my mother was, she was still a woman. In fact she was one of the only women

Modern Day Knowledge Of Scurvy And Treatment
European sailing ships first penetrated deep into the Indian and Pacific oceans in the 15th century
with the intent of exploration, wealth, and war. The casualties were appalling. Historical records
document that the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama lost two–thirds of his crew to scurvy
symptoms while traveling to India in 1499. Circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan suffered 80%
casualties to Scurvy. Among Magellan's fleet of five galleons, only one ship survived the globe–
trotting excursion. During the glorious age of sail, scurvy had claimed more sailors' lives than all the
others diseases and war combined. A stunning record of 2 million sailors perished between the 16th
and 19th century among the combined European seafaring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Throughout the course of up to three months, a sailor's health degrades ominously. Shortness of
breath, bone, and muscle pain (myalgia) intensify. Finally obvious objective symptoms manifest.
Petechiae and jaundice appear on the sailor's skin. Teeth dislodge, and injuries incurred from day to
day ship maintenance no longer heal. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy
worsen, fever and convulsions finally seal the sailor's demise. When the British navy's Commodore
Anson attempted to raid Spanish shipping lanes in 1740 (during the epic Seven Years' War), scurvy
proved to be more vicious than Spanish gunpowder. Tragically yet predictably, only one ship out of
the squadron of six returned from its mission. The Chaplain of commodore's flagship described
stricken sailors' symptoms as: "skin black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs,
teeth falling out and, perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out
of the mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim's breath an abominable odor."
Modern day scurvy treatment and prevention is remarkably simple. Unlike most of the animal
kingdom, the human body cannot synthesize Ascorbic Acid, so this vital coenzyme must be
ingested. Schoolchildren are taught at an early age that oranges provide ample amounts of Vitamin
C. Lesser known but excellent sources of Vitamin C also

  • 5. The Paleo Diet By Loren Cordain The Lemonade Cleanse In the article, "The Paleo Diet" by Loren Cordain, the author talks about America's fascination with diet fads, telling readers about their widespread appeal as a "fix–all" for America's health problems and obesity. I have to admit, like a lot of people, I am a bandwagon jumper. Whether this new fad be a new fashion trend or a new video game sensation, chances are that I've tried it. And new diet fads are no exception for me. One of the things that has become popular today is the cleanse. Cleanses can take many forms, but the main function of these is to detox the body. Many scientists, such as Dr. Joy Dubost, a dietitian and food scientist, warn people to shy away from such cleanses that claim to give the body a total detox. Dubost states that, "Your body has built–in mechanisms for detoxification, including your liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system." Going on a cleanse is not going to aide these bodily systems in doing their job. These are short–term diets that often consist solely of liquids that contain very little caloric value and can often make going on a cleanse dangerous. As a child, like many American children, I ate relatively unhealthily. For breakfast I would have sugary cereal and lunch and dinner usually followed up with something equally bad for my health. However, after each one of these meals I would dart outside to run around and play with my best friend. My high energy and active lifestyle allowed me to get away with my diet at ... Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst. What is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in opening a lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer season starts. After a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that would work efficiently in generating revenue and also help local community. Pricing Strategy:– Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though the business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough money to survive in the competitive market. Global Market:– Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to give back to the community. If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future ... When comparing the two commercials it is easy to see the quality and attraction pull of the second commercial is greater than the first. The second commercial stays true to the Burt's Bees natural, nature loving company while keeping an upbeat positive vibe. Although the first commercial mentioned is also a positive one it is not as dramatic with both contrasting colors as the first. I believe that Burt's Bees has stepped up their commercial game and when I was looking for commercials to use in this essay "Burt's Bees commercial song" was the top Google search about Burt's Bees that popped up. This shows that the advancement of using a catchy tune makes the brand name memorable and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is believed that the lemon meringue pie that we know today in America, originated in Philadelphia. Elizabeth Goodfellow was a pastry shop owner who operated the first cooking school in America in the 19th century. Her signature dish was her lemon pudding and one day she thought to finish her pudding off with a top layer of meringue. This was a relatively new concept in the world of baking because of how tricky a perfect meringue is to accomplish. Lemon custards demand a lot of egg yolks and often the egg whites were going to waste. Since meringue only calls for egg whites, cream of tartar, and sugar it seemed like a perfect solution to the waste problem. The product was a huge success and Goodfellow continued to top her custards with meringue. This resourcefulness led to a lemon meringue pie being created in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Descriptive Essay : Orange, A Beautiful Color The One What if I told you something so simple and quotidian was actually complex and completely riveting. To most people orange is just an occurrence between the red and yellow spectrum. Maybe an orange is what you have in a bowl on your kitchen counter, patiently waiting to be picked as a snack. Orange is not so simple or mundane as many may believe. At a very young age I despised orange, the color as well as the fruit. The color reminded me of an unfavorable rusty wrench. The fruit itself was lumpy and bravely bold, exhibiting an unconfident standoff with my taste buds. This outlook is no longer true, yet now I truly believe orange is a beautiful color as well as a delicious fruit. Orange is unique, symbolic, and full of history. To begin, orange is unique in many way that you may not have thought of. Unique is being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else. Firstly, were you aware that after chocolate and vanilla, orange is the world's favorite flavor? You have to be something special to be in league with the "big boys". For the most part, the more orange the peel is the more mature and sweet the fruit will be. Either way an orange is an orange, the taste is relatively delicious across the board. Forthwith, many may say oranges are of the very few fruits that have a bittersweet citrus taste. To the glory of bumpy, small thin packets filled with sunshine, that is an orange. Secondly, the word orange has absolutely no perfect rhymes. To clarify, the English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Market's Response The car market's response to asymmetric information is doing their research. While the car ads may not show how many miles a car can go per gallon of gasoline, a quick search on the internet can produce those results. There are many businesses dedicated for the sole purpose of reviewing and comparing products. Adjust it to suit yourself. Also, don't forget how great hot lemonade tastes in the winter when you have a sore throat. You can freeze the lemon/sugar syrup for later use. Herpes Type 2 was previously considered "below the belt" and caused genital lesions. However, the medical profession has found oral–genital contact can spread either, so that types of herpes have become virtually insignificant. Let's define herpes. It is very contagious. It is transmitted by bodily fluids. Proper hand washing precautions should be taken to keep the virus from a cold sore from spreading to the genitals. The first time herpes symptoms appear is called the primary occurrence and it worse than recurring outbreaks. Symptoms generally occur within 4–7 days after contact. Initial symptoms are burning, chronic itch or tingling. In a couple of days, pimply sores pop up on reddish skin. Later, the pimples metamorphose into agonizing blisters. When the blisters burst, they secrete blood and yellowish pus. Approximately a week after the first symptoms, scabs form, which signals healing has begun. While it is rare, it is possible for Herpes to spread to the eyes. This requires the speedy attention of a medical professional. A person can be infected and not know it. Symptoms may not show for some time following contact, yet the person can still be contagious. This is because viral shedding occurs during the tingling stage. • 55. Leaving Gilead: A Brief Analysis It is astonishing how one seemingly minuscule decision can make the largest difference in the timeline of ones life. In the story, Leaving Gilead, by Patt Carr, Geneva Birdsong, her daughter Saranell, and their slave Renny, are on the road as a result of the civil war, which Geneva's husband Ian, is fighting in. While traveling, they come across many instances where the love of Geneva's heart and sanity of her mind is questioned. Geneva is unable to accept reality. While Geneva lives her life on the Balm of Gilead plantation, her brain tells her the war is just a silly game, but more and more of the people she considers as "friends," are dying every day. After several months of Ian Birdsong, her husband, serving in the war, he makes a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While moving through the town, the Birdsong family and servants stop at the Culver residence for food and rest. "She never could forgive me for the fact that Haze and I–"(Carr 117). Just like Geneva couldn't finish that statement, she could not admit to herself that she had made a mistake by marrying Ian. This mistake was the first of many cascading mistakes that plagued her life and further cascaded by influencing the life of young Saranell. Much like in Leaving Guilead, the novel Death Be Not Proud, by John J. Gunther, the main character, Johnny, is unable to receive his endgame and refuses to submit. He is diagnosed with a brain tumor and is informed after a critical surgery to remove it, that he has no more that a few months to live and decides this. He said, 'I' m afraid the tumor has gone to my head,' and once he chorded ironically to Frances, his mother,' I must take my mind off my brain'" (Gunther 63)! While both Geneva and Johnny have similar outlooks on life, the results they leave them with are completely opposite. Johnny Gunther being unable to accept his fate was what extended his life by many months and gave him joy, while on the other hand, Geneva's viewpoint left her life miserable and still regretfully short. The plan was for me to meet Ms. Clara Mae who is a resident there. My expectations for the day were not the best, I dreaded the smell of being in a nursing home. As I approached room 406, I noticed a faint lemon smell that floated around the hall. I cautiously tapped on her wooden door and noticed a festive, fall wreath hanging crookedly by her mailbox. "Ms. Clara Mae?" A small tinkling voice called out, "Come in!" Ms. Clara Mae seemed sleepy and tired and she told me that she normally took a nap before lunch. That was my cue that I must move on to visit the other residents in the activity/recreation area. The scent of lemon wafted over to me once again, and I realized that she had an air freshener plug in the wall nearest the window. Evidently, she did not like the smell of nursing homes either. It suddenly hit me that she could be me in the future! She had a similar story like me, she liked some of the same things I did, and she had a great sense of humor. All Ms. Clara Mae needed was someone to listen to her and a little companionship. I had learned that her family no longer visited her anymore and the only people that saw her on a routine basis was a group that came from a church once a month. How sad! I felt connected to her and it crushed me to leave her. She seemed to understand and reassured me that she knew I was busy and had lots of things to do. Modern Day Knowledge Of Scurvy And Treatment European sailing ships first penetrated deep into the Indian and Pacific oceans in the 15th century with the intent of exploration, wealth, and war. The casualties were appalling. Historical records document that the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama lost two–thirds of his crew to scurvy symptoms while traveling to India in 1499. Circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan suffered 80% casualties to Scurvy. Among Magellan's fleet of five galleons, only one ship survived the globe– trotting excursion. Throughout the course of up to three months, a sailor's health degrades ominously. Shortness of breath, bone, and muscle pain (myalgia) intensify. Finally obvious objective symptoms manifest. Petechiae and jaundice appear on the sailor's skin. Teeth dislodge, and injuries incurred from day to day ship maintenance no longer heal. As crippling symptoms of edema, oliguria, and neuropathy worsen, fever and convulsions finally seal the sailor's demise. When the British navy's Commodore Anson attempted to raid Spanish shipping lanes in 1740 (during the epic Seven Years' War), scurvy proved to be more vicious than Spanish gunpowder. Tragically yet predictably, only one ship out of the squadron of six returned from its mission. The Chaplain of commodore's flagship described stricken sailors' symptoms as: "skin black as ink, ulcers, difficult respiration, rictus of the limbs, teeth falling out and, perhaps the most revolting of all, a strange plethora of gum tissue sprouting out of the mouth, which immediately rotted and lent the victim's breath an abominable odor."
