● purpose 
● structure 
Use imovie or Show Me to describe the above.
Find an example of persuasive writing and 
explain why it is an effective persuasive piece. 
(Make Doc) 
What is the author’s purpose? 
Highlight the language features used. 
Show how the structure is demonstrated.
Make a list of interesting words that could be 
used in a persuasive argument. Create a Doc 
and add to shared Folder. 
Choose ten words to learn for spelling this 
week. Test each day with your buddy.
Write a combined persuasive piece on a topic 
that interests you both. (You may want to use 
your Topic) 
Your target audience is C2 (so make your 
language and main paragraph points suitable 
for this age group to read).
Present Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 to a small 
group from C2. 
Record their feedback.
Read “The Emperor of Pekapeka Beach” 
(SJ Level 4 Oct 2012). 
Read the following online persuasive articles 
about “Happy Feet”. 
Article 1 and Article 2
Watch the video about “Happy Feet”.

Read the online article about “The Parapara 
Detectives”. 
Read the School Journal story (SJ Level 3 Oct 
2013)
Birds or Plants? What do you think? 
Write your persuasive opinion as either: 
A Bird Protector 
or 
A nature lover
