Language Learner Profile- Reflection
Firstly,one of the first challenges presented was to make the learner develop
his speaking ability, even though it was a complicated task due to his lack of
vocabulary, at the end it was remarkable that he tried very hard what we were
asking, so as to not make feel the learner uncomfortable, the question were related
to his daily life and likes, at this stage I realized that communicative skills is an
issue that needs to be promote gradually, if it is our main objective.
Secondly, the use of the language learner profile provides an integrated
approach to collecting and using information. The data allowed an insight of the
learner’s abilities, and also facilitated me to be focus on his language mistakes in
different areas such as productive skills (writing and orally). As a result, I felt
grateful, because it was a way to prove the knowledge that I had been learning all
these years not just English as an idiom, but also my educational background, at
the same time I was able to recognize at once his worse mistake, and came up
with an strategy for it.
Finally, because of the data, it was able to apply the correct strategy, so at
the end the learner was able to make an improvement on his lees good item;
moreover, the learner was able to identify their cognitive processes. So far, as
teachers to be, I realized that we need to go step by step, and we need to foster
students to develop their abilities, and what is more important their appropriate
confidence in the classroom.
