Social injustice was rampant during Amos's time. Not only within Israel/Judah, but also in the foreign kingdoms around them. We are first
introduced to the sins of Israel's neighbors in Amos chapters 1 and 2, which the Lord has found unfavorable which include; crushing Gilead in a
cruel manner ( Amos,1:3 New International Version), selling communities into slavery (Amos 1:6, 1:9), murdering their brothers, killing women and
their babies (Amos 1:11, 1:13), and burning the bones of others (Amos 2:1). Then we are introduced to the sins of Israel and Judah which include;
forgetting the law (Amos 2:4), worshipping other gods (Amos 2:4), selling people into slavery (Amos 2:6), treat those under them cruelly (Amos 2:7),
and women being shared between father and son (Amos 2:7) When you look at these two lists it is painfully evident to see that God 's people were very
similar to those around them. Already they were becoming a lot like those around them, failing to keep themselves pure and separate. When we look
at these things that the Lord is finding issue with, we can see just how many have to do with how they are treating those around them. By showing
his disapproval of these actions, God is showing us His heart on these matters. We can see that God not only cares about what His people are doing
but How His people are treating those around them and the way that it reflects Him and what it says about His relationship between them and Him.

all the prophets of the Lord to be put to death. Elijah was the only one to survive this horrible purge and went to confront King Ahab. He told the King
that a three–year drought would be brought upon Israel. This was to challenge the people's false prophet, Baal and eventually teach them a very

Jesus told the Parable of the Wedding Feast in Matthew 22:1–14. This story is alike in some ways to the Parable of the Great Banquet (Luke 14:15–24),
but the occasion is different, and it has some important distinctions. To better understand this story, it is vital to know some basic facts about weddings
in Jesus' day.
In Jewish society, the parents of the engaged usually drew up the marriage agreement. The bride and groom would meet, perhaps for the first time,
when this agreement was signed. The couple was considered married at this point, but they would separate until the actual time of the ceremony. The
bride would remain with her parents, and the groom would leave to prepare their home. This could take quite a while. When the home was all was
ready, the groom would return for his bride unannounced. The marriage ceremony would then take place, and the wedding feast would follow.
The wedding feast was one of the most joyous occasions in Jewish life and could last for up to a week. In His parable, Jesus compares heaven to a
wedding banquet that a king had prepared for his son (Matthew 22:2). Many people had been invited, but when the time for the banquet came and the
table was set, those invited refused to come (verses 4–5). In fact, the king's servants who brought the joyful message were mistreated and even killed
(verse 6).

ruins. Only a few survived as Jeremiah said and these few people who survived will be given a new beginning from God. God has not abandoned
his people, He sends these voices to His people to reassure them and lead them as if He is their shepherd. And during this time there have been a
lot of powerful feelings being expressed whilst interpreting their faith. A few examples of this movement during Exile would include the Book of
Lamentations, Psalm 137, the Book of Habakkuk and finally the Book of the Prophet Obadiah. The Book of Lamentations is considered to be five
poems that were said by tradition to be composed by the prophet Jeremiah after he knew Jerusalem would fall. The poems manage with the

relationship with God back. God made several promises to David through the prophet Nathan. God promised David and Israel that the Messiah
would come from one of David's family members and would establish a kingdom that would last forever. God told David that, "Your house and
your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever." This covenant is truly unconditional, just like the Abrahamic
