Future Human Space Exploration And Operations
Asteroids will provide the means to transform future human space exploration and operations in to large scale activities. They will first provide a rich
source of minerals and material for initial economic expansion and concurrently providing platforms for operations and manufacturing. Eventually,
asteroids could be used as space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond the solar system effectively becoming mobile bases of operations
and even space colonies. The only significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal ambiguity for large scale human
space activity. For any space activity to overcome its limitations and get off the ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest.
Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer many early solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as
Deep Space Industries have taken an interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating companies to attempt mining some of these objects.
Upon close inspection the composition of asteroids relative to Earth something amazing appears. Asteroids contain as much or orders of magnitude
more than the Earth critical materials needed to create a thriving economy2. This explains the interest in space industrialists particularly when
considering our current capability for creating spacecraft.

crash. Some fins on a rocket need pressure to take action. This works because when a rocket is going into space it needs to have pressure so the

The defining feature of mankind has been the continual desire to transcend boundaries. The late 1950s signalled the beginning of the Space Age, or an
age of discovery on a completely unexplored medium, outer space. We have not looked back since the 1957 launch of the Russian satellite Sputnik,
sending satellites, mammals, and eventually men and women into space with missions every year after 1957. While manned space exploration has had
many successes in the past fifty years, one of the main issues facing it today is the availability of food to astronauts. Quite simply, carrying the
requisite amount of food on board spacecraft is devilishly problematic.
Currently, the only manned mission in space is the International Space Station, aboard which six astronauts consume more than 8,200 pounds of food
per year, all of which comes from Earth. Rockets lug this vital food into orbit, costing NASA alone $400 million per year at $10,000 per pound of food.
While this is a lot of money, it is only slightly more than 2% of NASA's budget–and not all food on the ISS comes from NASA.

Where Apollo 13 took place and launched, was at the complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. It happened at 2:13 p.m. EST, April 11, 1970. What
had caused it to orbit the moon and come back, was a ciple in the oxygen tank. One thing that happened was on the Apollo 13 spacecraft, a oxygen tank
was crippled and they had to orbit the moon and return home. The main event was that for the third time, they successfully lifted off once more, just to
run into a problem with the oxygen tank. The people involved (meaning on the Apollo 13) were: Fred Haise, Jack Swigert, and Jim Lovell. It kind of
ties in with Apollo 11 because they both went to the moon but, Apollo 11 was made up to beat the Soviet Union in the Space Race by John F. Kennedy.
Apollo 13 ties in with the three theme words, Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in these three different ways: Exploration, they explored outer space
and learned many new things about plants, if anything grows on the planets, if anything lived there they didn 't know about, etc. Encounter, they

The Design Of A Spacecraft
The design of a spacecraft was derived from already successful Chandrayaan–1 and INSAT (Indian National Satellite System). Mixing a design from
previous spacecraft made the project cheaper. The space probe had a mass of 1337 kg (475 kg of dry mass, 15 kg of payloads and 852 kg of fuel).
The structure is of AL and composite fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) sandwich construction. It was developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
(HAL) and delivered in September 2012 to ISRO Satellite Center where the remaining spacecraft subsystems and payload instruments were built onto
the structure. The probe had a bottom ring with a provision for an interface to the PSLV launch vehicle. Additional flow lines and valves were used to
ensure LE 440 N engine restart after almost 10 months of Martian Transfer Trajectory (MTT) without any fuel flow issues. ISRO also tested the main
engine at Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC) in the state of Tamil Nadu.1
The Mangalyaan carried five scientific payloads to study Martian atmosphere, surface and outer most layer of 80,000 km. These payloads consisted of:
Lyman Alpha Photometer (LAP): The Lyman Alpha Photometer consist of an ultra violet detector which has a pure molecular gas filled hydrogen and
deuterium cells weighing about 1.5kgs. The LAP would be normally operated in the range of 3000 km before and after Mars perimeter. It measures the

Instead, engineers came up with a maneuver that would allow the craft carrying Curiosity to turn quickly. Then, rockets would turn on and allow
Curiosity to make a vertical landing.
Switching from a parachute to a controlled rocket descent could have gone wrong at any time. Still, even getting the descent right was not enough to

my fiction depend on the communication between people on the Earth and people in the space. My story is happened in 22nd century and people
have a developed technology to send the robots to the very far planets. At a different galaxy, aliens find our robots are sending signal back to thesatellite

Future of Asteroid Mining and Space Colonization

  • 1. Future Human Space Exploration And Operations Asteroids will provide the means to transform future human space exploration and operations in to large scale activities. They will first provide a rich source of minerals and material for initial economic expansion and concurrently providing platforms for operations and manufacturing. Eventually, asteroids could be used as space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond the solar system effectively becoming mobile bases of operations and even space colonies. The only significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal ambiguity for large scale human space activity. For any space activity to overcome its limitations and get off the ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest. Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer many early solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as Deep Space Industries have taken an interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating companies to attempt mining some of these objects. Upon close inspection the composition of asteroids relative to Earth something amazing appears. Asteroids contain as much or orders of magnitude more than the Earth critical materials needed to create a thriving economy2.
