4. Home Row Position
Fingers should be curved and
placed on home row keys:
Left hand: ASDF
Right hand: JKL;
Tip: Use bumps on F and J keys
to keep fingers in place.
5. Eyes on Copy
Eyes should stay on text that is being keyed at all
times.
Do not look at keyboard.
Taking your eyes off of copy will cause you to lose your
place.
6. Feet Flat on the Floor
Place feet in front of you and flat on the floor.
Your feet serve as an anchor to your body when keying.
This helps to keep your body from moving around.
It also helps with proper alignment and posture.
7. Good Posture
Sit up straight,
Using good posture helps you to avoid injury.

Your body should be about a hand span away from the
desk.

Do not hold down keys in a slow motion.
