evaluation media question

1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary
texts?

2. When looking at my advertisement, Digipak and music video there is very obvious similarities
which create continuity in all of my products for example the colour scheme.
When looking at my Digipak and Advert the colour scheme is green for the backgrounds, black
and white fonts. This is showing continuity in my products which is conventional of media texts
such as these because they have to link together.
The colour scheme is also continuing with the themes set by Ed Sheeran’s actual products which
I have researched as he uses the colours green and black a lot in all of his products.

3. The image to the left is of one of Ed
Sheeran’s back covers showing that the
colour scheme I have used in my Advert
and Digipak is conventional of the genre
I have chosen and links back to his
products.
The only difference is that my products
are bolder and have more filling the
space on them and also the background
colour on my products is bright green
and the text is black instead of the other
way around.

4. I have created the logos for my advert and Digipak based
on the people in my music video as shown by the images
below and to the right.
This is showing continuity in all three of my products even
though in the ancillary texts you can only see the outline
of the people. I find that this went very well because it is
also linking with what Ed Sheeran has done, only using the
outline of himself making the products more creative and
interesting, also seen below.

5. The font “travellers transcript” has
been used in both my Digipak and my
advertisement.
The font has been used many time
which has made it continuous
throughout my work also linking in
with the house style which I have
created. Also I have chosen the font
because after researching Ed Sheeran’s
work and products I decided that I
should continue with the indie look
which is linking in with the genre and
use the font I have chosen.

6. The fact that the name of the song is photograph I
have made the logo a camera and made the music
video look like it has been shot like it is from home
movies so that it links in with the overall feel and
theme that the name gives to the audience.
Also this is showing continuity throughout all of my
media products and again linking back to Ed
Sheeran’s music video being made with only home
movies as shown below.
