The Effect Of Solar Energy On Silicon Solar Cell Technology
Solar energy is widely believed to be the most promising renewable energy source to fulfill the
ever–increasing energy demand from human society now and into the future. Dye–sensitized solar
cells (DSSCs) have been explored as a potentially low–cost alternative to silicon solar cell
technology due to their lower fabrication costs compared to crystalline semiconductor photovoltaics.
However, the optimized efficiency for DSSCs has not been achieved yet, and the chemical stability
between dye and semiconductor has also not been addressed completely. In this research, we applied
the following four main strategies to prepare photoanodes used in DSSCs with the aim of improving
stability and efficiency: 1) utilizing surface chemistry to modify the porous semiconductor films, 2)
linking covalently [Di–tetrabutylammoniumcis–bis (isothiocyanato) bis (2, 2'–bipyridyl–4,
4'dicarboxy–lato) ruthenium (II), N719] dye on the surface of semiconductor films, and study the
charge injection dynamics by ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy, 3) doping the
semiconductor films with micro–sized neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) particles, and (4) incorporating
metal nanoparticles through molecular linkers to the semiconductor films. The objectives of this
work are to address the limitations of chemical stability existing between TiO2/N719 dye systems,
to explore the charge dynamics in TiO2/N719 system for a better understanding of the fundamental

2016 found that technology is more prevalent than we might realize with 98 percent of adults
between the ages 18 and 29 owning a cell phone and 85 percent of those cell phones being smart
phones (Stein, Osborn, & Greenberg, 2016). This lit review examines the effect that technology has
on family relationships. Technology has an important place in American families, but it can easily
take up valuable time that can be spent having face to face interactions. In 2013 children ages 8 to
18 years old spent approximately 7.5 hours a day looking at a screen, and when looking at the same
age group back in 1999 children only spent 5 hours a day using technology (Sanders, Parent,
Forehand, & Breslend, 2016). Family bonding experiences can be influenced if children and parents
are frequent users of technology. A very recent study conducted this year found that social media is
used daily by 75 percent of adults ages 18–29 using it and 66 percent of older adult ages 30–39
using it as well (Haslam, Tee, & Baker, 2017). Research shows that, "in the United States, 173
billion text messages were sent monthly by 293 million cell phone subscribers, according to mid–
year 2010 data. That's about 20 daily text messages per subscriber" (Isaiah, Williams, & Byron,
2011, p.66). Technology use is growing every year and, as noted earlier, the younger generation is
spending additional time on it than before. The availability of technology such as cell phones and

When cell phones were first introduced, they were large and expensive. In 1983 the first truly
mobile phone was released by Motorola. It was the Motorola DynaTAC 8000x. To some people it is

Genetic Engineering : An Unnatural Cell Invasion Technology
Genetic engineering is a complex environmental health issue that presents several benefits and risks
to both consumers and the environment. Genetic engineering is a technique used to produce
genetically modified organisms (GMOs), which are genetically altered in a way that does not occur
naturally by mating or natural recombination (WHO, 2014). In other words, genetic engineering is
an unnatural cell invasion technology. This technology is used to grow genetically modified (GM)
plants, which are then used to produce GM crops. Genetically modified plants for food consumption
include those engineered for herbicide tolerance, those engineered for insect resistance, and those
engineered for viral resistance (Baite, 2003). The most common GM food crops include soybeans,
corn, cotton, canola, potatoes, and tomatoes (Bonetta, 2001). Genetic engineering is used to express
a gene that is not found naturally in the plant or to modify endogenous genes (Key, Ma, & Drake,
2008). For example, this technology can be used to engineer resistance to abiotic stresses, such as
drought, extreme temperature, and biotic stresses, such as insects and pathogens which would
normally be harmful to plant survival. In addition, this system can be used to enhance the nutritional

One of the greatest problem faced by the world is pollution, which is causing a lot of damage to the
planet which is irreparable damage. The damaged being caused is affecting the human society by

caused by humans is rising daily and as a result radical changes to the planet are happening.
Pollution is caused by many things, but a major contributor is the automobile industry. Vehicles
which are part of our lives, they are emitting greenhouse gas which causes pollution.

The positive terminal is a catalyst which is meant to speed up the chemistry in the fuel cell. When
atoms of hydrogen reach the catalyst they split into hydrogen ions protons and electrons. The
protons which are positive they attract towards the negative terminal and travel from electrolyte
towards this layer is made up of plastic film and only protons can pass through it. This process
powers the electric motor the fuel cell is made of stacks of fuel cells because a single fuel cell has
power similar to a single battery.

replacement for fossil fuels. fuel cells have near zero emissions, as fuel cell cars use hydrogen gas as
fuel. The hydrogen gas reacts with oxygen from the air, this reaction's end result is electricity and
water (Torres, 2014). The use of fuel cells will drastically lower the amount of greenhouse gases
