The Impact Of Technology On The Workforce
The advancement of technology has impacted many areas of life, especially the workforce.
Advances in technology, such as the development of the robot, have started to have a significant
impact on the individual worker. These workers come from many different areas of life, some
including manufacturing, service, and jobs that do not require much education. For example,
manufacturing jobs have been impacted by the robot because the robot is able to perform
manufacturing skills at an easier and faster rate than humans. Jobs that also do not require extensive
education will be impacted because robots will be able to replace these humans since it does not
take a lot of expertise to fulfill these particular jobs. The interaction with robots is also an area
addressed in the paper. Communication with other humans will be affected because people will be
dealing with robots more at your local stores or your local movie theaters. Humans will be
associated more with technology and less with human interaction. In addition to these ideas, the
future of workers is addressed in this paper. Even though there will be a loss of jobs and a declining
economy because of the increase in robots may at first not seem beneficial, it will all work out in the
end. The loss of jobs will create more jobs since robots will be doing their jobs at a faster rate,
creating more of a demand for other jobs to perform their jobs faster. Humans will have to be
recruited for these jobs to keep up with the demand of

Outline Of Proposed Proposal For A Proposal
Introduction The introduction of the proposal should be one complete page long and will most likely
be divided into two paragraphs. Notice that the section headings (Table of Contents, Abstract,
Introduction, etc.) are still formatted in Times New Roman, 12 point font. Titles, cover pages, and
section headings do not need to be in oversized font, but these may be bolded or underlined to create
a separation between the heading and the text. Also, notice that the section heading appears on the
first line and the text begins on the second line (extra space and/or skipped lines should not be
present). The introduction will give more details about the problem that the proposal solution will
address. While the problem was identified in the letter of transmittal and the abstract of the proposal,
this section will allow for more details to be identified about the exact problem. The reader should
have a complete understanding of exactly what led the author to write this proposal. This will be the
only place that the problem will be discussed in detail and may include data or statistics related to
the problem. Ideally, this portion of the proposal should not include any figures, tables, or
illustrations. Instead, those can be utilized in the body of the proposal to explain the solution plan
and benefits. The second paragraph of the introduction can discuss the purpose of the proposal (the
solution and request). This should briefly introduce or outline what the proposal suggests as

A Brief Note On The Easiest Part Of Writing Essay
1) The easiest part of writing this essay was the introduction. The introduction was the easiest part
of the essay for me, because it just reiterated the main point of the essay and set up my rhetorical
analysist.
2) I think I did best on the part of the analysis that I discussed Junod's introduction as an author and
the introduction of his mother.
3) I struggled mostly with just the analysis itself. It is hard analyzing other people's work.
4) I will improve my analysis on my next paper by rereading the essay and making notes about the
content until I have enough information for a well written analysis.
5) I had questions about the audience of this paper and the reason behind this piece of work. I did
ask myself these questions and I think I got the proper responses.
6) I did not really have any questions about documentation, but I did not know I needed to cite the
article until you told us in class.
7) I do not have questions about MLA format only because I have made frequent trips to Purdue
Owl writing portal.
8) I did not use any of the tools listed, besides when you looked over our papers. I reread the essay
until I thought I knew what the author was portraying to the audience.
9) I am not very good at using transition words or placing my commas in the right place which is a
major issue when reading another's essay.

Reflection Paper
I walked into second period on August seventh and was greeted by my teacher, Mrs Key. She was
straight to the point, telling me, "This class will make you work; if you cannot handle it, get out." I
began to question my decision to take her class, doubts seeping into my mind as I knew myself too
well as an awful writer. I thought, "Should I really take this class?" Ultimately, I determined that I
could manage the work in the class and make it to the final paper. As a student with a four grade–
point average, I expected the class to be effortless. However, the weekly papers combined with such
a challenging class resulted in a constant bombardment of low grades, making me realize that I was
very wrong. I started to put forth more effort in the class, and although I started the year writing
atrocious pieces, I can proudly say that my work has improved significantly. I had a tough start to
the year, struggling in the areas of my theses, introductions, transitions, and conclusions; however,
my effort has been rewarded by their obvious improvement to further emphasize that even the most
terrible of writers can experience success. My first paper, "A City on Fire", was a dreadful
conglomeration of words mashed into a paper just to meet the word count. I simply focused on
meeting and even exceeding it; as a result, my paper had no flow, rhyme, or reason. Additionally,
one of the major problems I found in this paper was my conclusion. Like so many high school
seniors, I like to

Reflection On English And Writing
English and writing are not my strongest subjects. When I was in high school, I thought writing
papers was a piece of cake. I knew college would be very demanding, especially going into a health
profession. So that meant I would be taking English classes and writing many papers. I knew they
would be more difficult than high school, and longer. The writing process is very helpful even
though I do have some weaknesses. This class showed me that I was not the only one struggling
with English and that it takes practice and time to improve my writing skills.
Prewriting was not easy for me. I would make a simplified outline with very too little information.
This was why I would be all over the place. I felt like that would take way to much time and that if I
would just start writing everything would come together. However, that did not turn out that way. I
would always start the body paragraphs because those were easier to write than the introduction and
conclusion. In high school, we were told to leave your introduction for last. The introduction
paragraph would take a while to construct and revise. For certain papers I was able to create the
introduction right away and for others, I wasn't. Writing the introduction would be hard for me if the
topic was something I was not fond of. I really needed to be engaged in the paper to write well
enough. I need help in creating a thesis because I didn't know how to describe all of my points in a
sentence. Once I would get

you understand why those tips are important. And I will provide you with examples to help you use
those tips. If you read this document and practise writing introductions – you will be a better writer
and you will get better marks.
See what I did there? See how I tried to capture your attention and get you to read on? See how you

As Jo Hunt says, writing a law essay is not like writing a detective novel. No one wants to wait until
the last line for the big reveal, to find out "whodunit". Instead, you need to be telling your reader, in
your introduction, exactly what your conclusion is going to be. As Richard Moorhead comments,
"Outside of fiction, and interestingly judicial judgments, writing should generally not be a magical
mystery tour. The best writing generally tells the reader what they will learn from reading the full
text and it does so very early on (in the introduction). So if the question is, Do you think capital
punishment is right or wrong, you would say from the outset of the essay what your line is. Say, "I
will argue that capital punishment is wrong." Or, "I will argue that capital punishment is right for
certain types of offence.""
4. Keep it short and keep it snappy. The introduction introduces. It doesn't give everything in full
detail. That's what the body of your essay is for. So, in exam conditions where you have 45 minutes
– 1 hour for an answer, you're probably looking at no more than a couple of paragraphs. In
summative work (or work in non–exam conditions), try and keep your introduction to no more than
10% of the total word count. This figure, 10%, is not a magic number. It's just a rough guide. Be
sensible. Remember that the Introduction is not

Letter Of An Introduction Letter
Have you ever felt the need of writing a letter of introduction? If not, then you should know that a
letter of introduction plays an important role while applying for a job or sending a business
proposal. The most important purpose of an introduction letter is to introduce your business and
yourself to another business or a group of people.
What is the purpose of an introduction letter?
Since it is already mentioned that an introduction letter is used to introduce yourself to an employer
for a job reference or to represent your business in the market, this letter must include true and
sincere information that can create a deeper impact on the reader.
Letters of introduction are also used as an important business communication tool, placed at the first
point of contact when you think of starting a new business or expanding your venture. In the
business sphere, this letter of introduction is often regarded as a foot in the door. Therefore, when
writing a letter of introduction for a job reference or business purposes, make sure it is well–written
from all aspects because a poorly written letter may damage your credibility to a great extent.

The Tempest Critical Analysis
The Thrilling Tempest
"The beauty of literature allows readers to see things through other people's eyes. All good books do
this" Sandra Cisneros' observation demonstrates how Act I of The Tempest by William Shakespeare
is a very well written introduction. Shakespeare introduces the main characters using descriptive and
interesting backstories so the reader fully understands the characters and what the context of the
story is. Another positive component to Act I was how Shakespeare reveals the themes of betrayal
and ambition early in the story. Shakespeare also creates a conflict immediately, which captivates
the reader. The introduction to The Tempest allows the reader to "see through the eyes of the
character" further strengthening the fact that Act I is an excellent introduction. Sandra Cisneros
observes that "The beauty of literature allows readers to see things through other people's eyes".
Shakespeare effectively introduces the main protagonists with backstories so detailed and well
written that the reader can "see things through the eyes of the characters". Prospero tells the
backstory of Ariel when he reminds him of how he freed him from being stuck in a tree. The
detailed introduction given by Prospero allows the reader to fully understand Ariel's background and
the struggles he faced. PROSPERO. A falsehood in its contrary as great/As my trust was, which had,

A Comparison Of A Doll House And A Doll's House
Many blockbuster films within this day and age have been found to be based off books. Some
directors put their own twist to the film and others try to cinematically depict the story directly from
the book. This is the case with the film of A Doll's House (1973) by Joseph Losey featuring Jane
Fonda as Nora Helmer, Losey's adaptation incorporates most elements of the film but some scenes
appear different. Many scenes from the film are almost exactly the way they are in the book and the
overall film has the exact same idea as the original book in which Nora leaves her husband and
children to go to live in the city. Some viewers may prefer the book version and others the cinematic
version. The cinematic version overall is much more realistic and every character's features and
behaviors are identically depicted as within the book.
The book and film of A Doll's House takes place within a small unspecified Norwegian town during
the late 1800's. During this era, men were viewed to be more superior than women because the men
would support the family while the women were just seen as housewives. This can be seen as an
example all throughout the play. Although during that era, feminism wasn't a concept yet, an early
form of feminism lingers within the play and seems to be one of the main themes.
My favorite character within the play is Nora, the role her character plays within the film keeps the
film very interesting and gives the play some flavor. She brings life to both book and

Great Gatsby Reflection
At the begging of the year, I had little knowledge to write an essay for this class, especially since we
did not have many guidelines. For my glorious moment paper, I changed a good amount of text. I
went back throwing, revising my paper and making changes. Overall, I changed a majority of my
sentence structures because the first final draft contained numerous bland versions. Many of my
sentences also had to be fixed in the begging so that they were not so repetitive. From there, I
thought it would have been a good idea to changing my opening and closing portions of my essays. I
made my introduction and my conclusion end in the same place so that it all ties together. I also
made a large amount of changes in my cause and effect essay. Reading and revising the paper, I
noticed that the effects were not evident. So, I changed my introduction. While changing my
introduction, I noticed that my body paragraphs did not fit. So, I went back through and decided to
make all of my paragraphs into something different. In dong so, I made my paper much stronger and
I did not have to keep stating how I came to be. I also wen back to the appositive, participial, and
prepositional packets we did and tried to use a variety of different structures. Finally, I also made
large changing in my AP Essay for The Great Gatsby. After rereading my paper I realized that my
paper could be much stronger. In order to make my essay stranger I had to change and critique my
introduction. In

Speech Persuasive Speech Comparison
Speech Comparison #2 Ted Talks is a treasure trove of information, capable of providing anyone
with a mountain of information on whatever might interest them. It is different to many other
sources in regards to how that information is given out, this being the way most all their videos are
of people giving speeches. Given the vast collection of speeches on the site, we can find many a
great performances where it is obvious that the speaker had a great effect on the audience and also
where the audience wasn't very much influenced. On the topic of aging and general health, there
were two speeches by Aubrey de Grey's and Dan Buettner, and we will be comparing these two
speeches together No great speech can be created without a good hook. Unfortunately, it seems like
neither of them really created a great hook. They failed to really capture the attention of the
audience and reel them in. Both introductions had weak hooks, but they made it so that you at least
knew what the speakers were going to talk about and what direction they're going to take with their
speeches. Despite both intros being weak, Aubrey de Grey's introduction was clearly weaker. Grey
did not have any hook whatsoever. Instead, he told the audience that he was strapped for time and
that he would need to dive in right ahead. Buettner on the other hand, at least tried to create a hook
by starting off with a fact that not many people would know. It was weak, but better than nothing.
The hook is out of the way and next is fluidity for the introduction. Bueller makes it easy for the
audience to follow along with what he's saying. His use of transitive words guides the audience and
it makes it easy to follow along. This along with his pleasant tone and flow makes it easy to pay
attention. A stark contrast to Grey's speech. Grey at times became quite hard to follow due to his
near monotonal voice and the speed at which he spoke. It was hard to follow what he was saying
and often times I ended up lost, missing quite a bit of the information that he was giving out. At one
point, I even checked that I had not accidentally changed the video's speed because of how fast it
was going. This combined with the lack of any real hook, made it very hard to pay

My Teaching Strategy For Students
As I look over my teaching, I do notice many weaknesses, but I do notice some strengths as well.
Even though I gave the students clear instructions, I believe that I should have done the 'I do, We do,
You do' strategy with them to compute the prices, discounts, and markups in the introduction
activity. I also feel that this whole activity, along with the implementation of the 'I do, We do, You
do' teaching strategy, really would have been more effective for the students. I had assumed that
their previous class would have provided them with enough experience to allow them to compute
discounts by themselves, but I do recognize that they needed even more practice with the teacher.
One strength that I do recognize is that I had good voice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I rank my timeliness as something that needs major improvement. If this problem was improved, I
could have more opportunities to assess my students and give them prompt feedback as well. I could
fix this problem by making my activities more simple and shorter, and providing early finishers with
more challenging work depending on their capabilities. For students that finish their work early but
need more remediation, I could pull them to the side and provide one–on–one instruction to correct
misunderstanding right then.
Examining my teaching, I notice that I was lacking in cooperation among my students. I did ask my
students a few higher order thinking questions, but I monopolized the introduction activity with my
verbal instructions. I did not allow the students to explain how they would go about finishing the
task that I assigned to them. I was more like a dictator rather than letting the students explore and
explain their understanding of the task that I prompted them to complete. Without student
cooperation, I am not aware of what misunderstandings my students have. Additionally, if student
cooperation is lacking, my students could get easily bored and it will be harder to get them back into
a learning mode. Also, I feel that students need to take control of their own learning, and this can be
completed with student cooperation. If I had provided more opportunities for my students to
communicate their understanding, I

Analysis Of Sandra Cisneros's The House On Mango Street
Just by looking at the front cover of The House on Mango Street, one could grasp an idea of what
the novel is about and how it is presented. It is a story, decorated with colorful detail and
authenticity, of a girl adjusting to a new home and growing up. In the introduction to the novel,
Cisneros paints a picture of who she had been at the time she had written this novel. Cisneros
discusses how as a girl she always wanted to move into a standalone house as opposed to the
apartments she had been living in throughout her early childhood. She also mentions her father's
role in her life and how they had not often seen eye to eye. Her father had never understood why she
wanted to live in a house. He also had wanted Cisneros to marry and have babies, however, at the
time she had written this novel, she had been uninterested in that. Meanwhile, she states that she has
never had a father or boyfriend beat her when she writes about how privileged her life had been up
to that point. This is all reflected in The House on Mango Street. Sandra Cisneros writes in her own
unique voice in The House on Mango Street by using unconventional short anecdotes that feature a
cast of distinct characters to include aspects of her own life. In the beginning of the introduction,
Cisneros describes what she was like when she was a young. Cisneros writes, "As a girl, she
dreamed of having a silent home, just to herself..." (Cisneros xii). This desire is reflected through

Essay on Telling America 's Story
Telling America 's Story
The three essays of rhetorical criticism, Telling America 's Story: Narrative Form and the Regan
Presidency by William F. Lewis, The "Promiscuous Audience" Controversy and the Emergence of
the Early Woman 's Rights Movement by Susan Zaeske, and Medicine, Rhetoric, and Euthanasia: A
Case Study in the Workings of a Postmodern Discourse by Michael J. Hyde each employ a variety
of strategies to examine the rhetoric of three distinct situations. This paper will attempt to dissect
each of the essays in a comparative manner. Specifically, it will evaluate the introductions, how
effectively they are constructed, and how the essays follow according to the expectations set forth in
the introductions.

Hyde's essay explains its objectives in a similar manner though not as obviously.
The essay by Hyde provides a clear statement of purpose in less than half of the words that Lewis
used. His statement of purpose is just as obvious as Lewis's, but he does not include a formal list
like Lewis's. Hyde writes a quick paragraph describing his subject which includes a humorous quote
from Woody Allen. The joke "softens" the controversial topic, coaxing the reader into continuing,
perhaps even if the subject seems too grim. After the first paragraph Hyde jumps straight into his
essay's purpose. This is quite different than Lewis's lengthy intro, but he still manages to effectively
communicate his purpose. This quick, concise approach makes Lewis's intro seem almost too long.
Hyde moves on to subtly urge the reader to keep an open mind to "a profession that has long been
conditioned to feel ill at ease with rhetoric". This prepares the reader to view the difficult issue
euthanasia from a critical standpoint and provides a context for medical rhetoric. Unlike the many
examples provided in the Lewis essay, Hyde relies mainly on the "It's over Debbie" article. This
example does a good job fulfilling most of the objectives that he set out to accomplish.
Zaske approaches her introduction in a different manner than the previous writers. She provides
several questions that will be answered in the essay and briefly describes some of the topics to be
addressed

Marketing Objective Of Introducing A Protein Based Beer
Marketing Objective
The primary objective of introducing a protein based beer into the market is to target a more diverse
segment of consumers. Based on the fact that craft beer drinkers are generally not loyal to a
particular brand and are continuously sampling new craft flavour as new products are continuously
introduced into the market, the introduction of a protein based beer is appealing in that it correlates
with the growing national trend of health consciousness. In Canada, heath awareness is growing
among all Canadians which has led to many individuals pursuing a healthier lifestyle by integrating
continuous health measures into their daily and active lives (BDC, 2013). Moreover, the high–
protein trend has surged its way through packaged food and beverage domains as it is one of the
very few nutrients that has remained unscathed by health controversies (Baroke, 2015).
The core focus pertaining to segmentation will emphasize on the psychographic lifestyle aspect
which will be referred as the "Health Conscious Beer Consumer". This segment refers to individuals
who are physically active, generally aware of what they consume and also appreciate the socializing
aspect of consuming beer. It is important to note that consumers across Canada are becoming more
informative and are continuously making efforts to break adverse habit forming behaviours
pertaining to diet (BDC, 2013). As the health conscious trend expands across the country both
geographically and demographically,

We will take a look at just how well this article follows the advice on layout and perhaps it will
change our outlook on how an article should be written. First, we will look at how the authors
decided to begin their article. They begin by introducing the company, a Fortune–100 one, by saying
they have over $7 million worth of parts inventory in their vans. Of course when anyone sees a large
number like $7 million and Fortune 100 mentioned it draws them in. The authors then explain that
they must refer to the company as "Alpha" in order for it to remain anonymous. (Michael & Sanjay,
2006) Add a little mystery and you've grabbed the reader by the brain and they want to figure out
just what is so important about part inventory on vans. The net two paragraphs deal mostly with the
explanation about why the company would want to keep parts overstock low and the costs of
keeping too many parts in stock. They finish up the introduction by stating that the whole
underlying problem is trying to decide out of the 70,000 available parts which 400 needs to be
stocked on the technicians vans. (Michael & Sanjay,2006). So just how well did the author follow
the model? They appear to have done a good job at drawing the reader in using some numbers and
how they equate to the large problem of deciding what to stock. Most people in the industry will be
curious as to just who they are talking about which will draw more readers in. Describing just what

The cost–efficiency implies that the company introduces changes that allow the company saving
costs without harmful effects of such changes on the quality of products and services of the
company. For instance, the company can optimize internal business processes through their
automation (Clarke, 2000). The automation of internal business processes saves time of employees
which they can use more effectively, for instance, to increase their productivity. In such a way, the
company enhances its performance and increases its revenues while its costs drop.
In this regard, the HR department plays an important part in the successful implementation of the
cost–efficiency strategy because Human Resources can increase the effectiveness of their
performance without substantial and costly changes being introduced. For instance, Mr. Morgan
should consider options for saving costs within the HR department that will decrease the costs of the
company, and he should consider possibilities to cut spending on the HR department without
decreasing the efficiency of its performance. At the moment, Mr. Morgan considers the possibility of
introducing HRIS that can save costs and enhance the performance of the HR department.

Pretty Little Liars: Opening Credit Analysis
Reading a Media Text
Pretty Little Liars' Opening Credits
I have chosen to interpret, in both connotatively and denotatively ways, the opening credits to one of
ABC Family's most acclaimed TV show, Pretty Little Liars. It premiered in the early summer of
2010. Based on a teen/drama/mystery series, this show has rapidly gained success. When you watch
the opening credits for the first time without knowing anything about the show, it's easy to guess
what the show is about; but once you know or at least have a clue of the drama, it's easier to notice
the relationship between the introduction and the content. The introduction starts off with a girl,
getting ready for something; her nails, hair and makeup are being done. Then, ... Show more content

The girls standing behind the casket are a dressed in black because it's the correct attire for a funeral,
but they represent the "pretty" in the title of the show, meaning that they still keep their style and
sexiness at peak. Finally, the title of the show is placed over dark clouds symbolizing that something
bad has, or will happen. As state before, the theme song of the introduction is a song called "Secret".
This song and, more specifically its lyrics, link perfectly everything from the intro to the drama and
conflict of the show. The song has a kind of scary and mysterious melody. The lyrics of the song
say: "Got a secret, can you keep it, swear this one you'll save. Better lock it in your pocket, taking
this one to the grave ... and to can keep a secret if one of them is dead". The lyrics of the song help
the viewer analyze the intro and because of this they may come to the conclusion that the four girls
in the back of the casket may have something to do with the death of the girl.
The girls' faces give the viewer a lot of information. Their facial expressions gives away the fact that
they are hiding something. Their posture, and the way they move implies that they have some sort of
secret they are trying not to give away. It can be implied that the four girls are hiding the same thing
and that that is what is keeping them close together. I remember the first time I saw the introduction,

Reflection Paper
Coming into my Composition I class, I did not really know what to expect. Some of the seniors from
last year told me that it was not particularly difficult, but I needed to be prepared to work. However,
last year's seniors had the class for a whole semester; I had only nine weeks. As a result, I was not
aware of how fast paced Composition I would be. In previous classes, I was used to having long
increments of time to complete research papers, but now, I am expected to complete research papers
in much shorter amounts of time, sometimes just one week. Even though this process has been quite
grueling at certain times, my introductions, content, and sentence variation have massively
improved, making it easier to put my ideas on paper. Introduction paragraphs have always been my
Achilles' heel. Straining my brain for long periods of time, I just could not come up with ways to
start my papers. An introduction is one of the most important components of a research paper
because it sets the tone for the entire body. A sound introduction grabs the reader's attention while a
weak introduction leaves the reader disinterested. I have always had difficulty writing introductions,
and I knew that it was imperative that I overcome this obstacle. On my first official ICC paper,
"Washington, D.C. Paper," the topic was a city or national park that a person should visit. I chose
Washington, D.C. because of its rich history and many attractions. While writing the introduction, I
was stumped. I

Things are looking up. Roger Nelson felt euphoria from the reversal in fortunes his new job offered.

Analysis Of The Rogerian Argument
The Rogerian method of argumentation, created by psychologist Carl Rogers, focuses on trying to
advocate a win–win outcome. This is done by steering clear of incendiary language and making use
of the technique of "restatement". The goal of this type of argumentation is for the two sides to settle
on a common ground. The purpose of this essay is to determine whether factors outside of school
play as much as role in one's education as school itself.
In the introduction of this article, the author should create a foundation for his argument and state
both sides of the argument. The author is able to that in his introduction. In his first paragraph, he
states that there are "two different opinions" on whether school is the primary influence of ... Show

The context is when the author clearly states the opposing argument and states definitive cases
where the opposing view is permissible. The author should state the opposing side without using
combative language. The opposing side of the author's argument is that factors outside school are
the primary influence of education. The author supports the opposing sides by saying that "factors
such as social media and peer pressure play a critical role in influencing teens". This statement
shows that the author is using social media and peer pressure to justify the opposing side of the
argument. The author goes on to tell the reader that social media can influence education because
"social media lets students stay connected...and encourages interactions with more individuals". This
statement gives more depth to why social media helps students learn. The author also talks about
peer pressure to enhance his context. The author says that "peers can lead children onto the right
path" because of the influence they have on a child. A group of friends that encourages and spreads
ideas can have a large impact on how a child develops. In this paragraph, the author is able to
successfully provide context without using any combative

A Writer's Reflection Essay
English is a hard language to learn, for there are numerous elements of effective usage and writing.
Many people, including me, struggle in writing because of a lack of knowledge. Since middle
school, English was not a strong suit of mine. I struggled with the simplest of tasks often taking a
considerably longer time to complete a task than the other students. Unmotivated teachers and a lack
of interest resulted in remedial writing skills. To put it simply, I had little confidence in my writing
and I dreaded taking the class because of the writing involved. In spite of my fears, I took the course
and I was able to perfect and challenge my mediocre writing skills.
With the professors' assistance, I was able to identify the meager ... Show more content on

An aspect that I often struggle with is proper punctuation. Truthfully, I do not know how to correctly
use punctuation. When writing, I place punctuation by mimicking authors' formats or by placing
them where it feels right. This is present in all of my writing, but I am attempting to improve.
Punctuation also plays a part in another weakness of mine, one that is most likely present within this
essay. Since middle school, it was engrained in my mind that a good essay is a long essay, so I have
a tendency for wordiness. To elongate an essay, I tend to add needless words and sentences. For
example, in the rough draft of the Whole Process Essay, I added several unrelated occurrences to
elongate the paragraphs. Although my essays were long and wordy, the professor commented on
vagueness and unclearness within the whole process and practice essay. Sometimes, I disregard the
fact that the reader might not know what it is I am writing about or the sentence makes perfect sense
to me. The latter is the most common, I quickly read the sentence and it appears fine to me. Within
the Whole Process Essay, another weakness was brought to my attention. I lack structure, a key
element in effective writing. Within the same essay and a few others, I simply added what felt right,
sometimes the result would be acceptable but in other instances, it was a long, jumbled mess. Once
these weaknesses were revealed, I worked on improving my current works. There were several

Egil's Saga Essay
The author most likely intended for Egil's Saga to be a historical documentation of Scandinavia, its
culture, and several of its inhabitants. The tale could also be seen as a folk tale, set in a realistic
setting with real people, but the events are skewed and not quite right. The epic accomplishes the
first possible intention through its many characters, the use known locations, and basing the majority
of the tale around two individual families that would have been well known around the time it was
written. However, the tale is not entirely accurate, which strengthens the idea that it was more of a
folk tale. Throughout the epic the audience is introduced to two families, beginning far before the
birth of the man who would attributed to the title. The tale then follows these families through the
events that led up to the main plot of the epic, going so far as to keep detailed track of who married
who and where each character came from. An example of this would be the detailed description of

the story aloud in Icelandic to a crowd. With this in mind the story was most likely spread primarily
through word of mouth. This is also shown through the style in which the piece was written.
Egil's Saga is quick paced and exaggerated, like a folk tale version of a family story. This stylistic
choice would keep an audience tuned in to the story and unsure of when to walk away from it. Each

Measuring Success During The Pharmasim Simulation Course
1. Measuring Success
During the pharmasim simulation course, we monitored several key measures to track our
performance in the game. They are:
a. Manufacturer's sales: Allstar is a pharmaceutical company which distributes cough and cold
medicines. One of the stronger suit to measure the success rate of the company would be to track its
sales. Sales in response to different marketing and response strategies helps us comprehend if the
strategies are effective and efficiently working. While lower sales indicate a failed strategy, higher
sales indicates success of the applied strategy. Similarly, we compared the manufacture's sales after
each period to learn about the status of sales.
b. Net Income: Net income portrays how the company is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
There are two noticeable dips in the net income in the 4th and the 7th period. The dip in the 4th time
period is because of the introduction of a new product called "Allround+" which is a 4–hour liquid
cold medicine for the children and the dip in the 7th period is because of the introduction of another
new product called "Allright" which is a 4–hour allergy capsule. Whenever, new products are
introduced a lot of money is invested in marketing and promoting the new products to encourage or
boost the sales of the product. This process increases the expenses of the products and erects a
higher threshold for the company to reach to, to make a profit. Hence, it is normal when the net
income dips during the introduction of new products in the market. The picture above reflects the
stock price in dollars of our company over the frame of 10 periods. While the stock price of our
company has thoroughly and exponentially increased in the overall time period, there are two small
dips in the 2nd and 3rd time period. One of the few reasons for these dips could be the reformulation
of the brand. The brand previously contained alcohol in its original formulation. Only few of these
kinds of changes are positively perceived in the market. Hence, with such drastic changes people
might be uncertain if they want to buy the stock price reducing the demand of the stock, decreasing
the stock price of Allstar.

Essay on The Introduction of Prohibition
The Introduction of Prohibition
Prohibition was introduced in 1920 as part of an amendment to the Constitution of the USA. It was
introduced for a variety of different reasons including a wartime concern for preserving grain for
food rather than for brewing and distilling. There were also feelings against the German–Americans,
who were responsible for brewing and distilling, at a time when America was at war against
Germany which also let the Anti–Saloon league influence the general public before the main
objectors, the men, returned home. Even though there are many reasons for the introduction of
prohibition there was only one main consequence. It created the greatest criminal boom in American

country to purchase something that would benefit the 'enemy'. Nevertheless, this would not stop the

had come to America from other countries. An additional consideration that led people in the belief
that prohibition would succeed was the cost of alcohol so people may have used the law as an
opportunity to give up alcohol without seeming odd to others. Moreover, this problem would not
prevent wealthy Americans from trying to purchase alcohol because they had the money to do it
without sending their family into the downwards spiral of poverty. Also, to begin with the level of
enforcement for the law was so high that even if people did not support the law, the prohibition
commissioners could have worked hard to dispose of alcohol whilst gathering support. However,
this hard work soon ended when the commissioners, along with the police, politicians, magistrates,
party officials and clerks, began to accept bribes from gangsters and the owners of speakeasies to
ignore the activities that were taking place around them. Even though there are many reasons that

Strong Introductions
How to Write Strong Introductions
Understanding Introductions All papers should include an introduction for their readers found at the
beginning of the paper. Usually the introduction is one paragraph, but it may be two paragraphs in
length. The introduction presents the topic of the paper and provides the main idea and supporting
details which will be explained and developed in the paper. It is essential that all parts of the
introduction relate to each other. Generally, the final sentence of the introductory paragraph contains
the thesis statement. Well–written introductions guide the reader's understanding of the paper.
Furthermore, well–constructed introductions make papers easier for authors to write.
Writing Introductions For best results, it is usually necessary to write the introduction twice. First,
write an introduction that contains the components that will be included in the paper. This will serve
to guide the development of the paper. Once the paper has been revised, return to the introduction
and check to make sure it covers all the areas discussed in the paper. Finally ask, "Does the
introduction engage and focus readers' attention?" (Aaron, 2006, p. 6). If either of those areas need
improvement, revise the introduction accordingly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Introduction Of A New Vaccine Essay
Introduction of a New Vaccine to an Existing Immunization Program
The introduction of new vaccines is usually planned at national level by the national immunization
program managers. These managers are assisted by medical consultants to make informed decisions
on how they can add a new vaccine to an existing program. Such new vaccines are introduced to
strengthen the existing program while the program is used to accommodate more vaccine; thus, cost
is reduced. Therefore, there is a need to have a decision making procedure that will act as a technical
tool for planning, implementing and monitoring the introduction of new vaccines.
The first procedure is to gather data on the different factors to be considered to make informed and
justifiable decisions. These data include; the disease outbreak, the affected group, and the death
caused among others. The second step is to analyze each data to determine the ground on which the
introduction of the vaccine is justified. This step is useful as it shows the seriousness of the diseases
and determines the urgency at which the vaccine should be carried to contain the spread of the
ailment.
Another step is to estimate the cost of the exercise where the manufacturer quotes the price and the
shipping expenses in case the vaccine is imported. Additionally, the cost of storage and
transportation to the specific areas where the outbreak of the disease has occurred is calculated.
Also, the cost of hiring health care providers for introducing

Summary: The authors compare 2004–2013 TCs in the North Atlantic and East Pacific basins, using
IKE (TC extended best track data set) and rainfall (TRMM–3B42). The introduction defines the
concept of IKE and explains that a comparison of IKE in the EP and AL basins will be carried. The
following analysis provides the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC count, then shifts the focus to: the
relationship between IKE and TC genesis location the differences between the upper and lower

TC genesis location the relationship between IKE ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why is the analysis focused on genesis (Fig 2 and 5, Table 3)? Is there a hypothesized difference
between AL and EP when it comes to the relationship between location of genesis and maximum
IKE? What would that hypothesized difference tell us? What does the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC
count (Fig 1) tell us that is new? Are there expected differences with Fig 1 from Misra et al. (2013)?
If TC size explains most of IKE, the fact that IKE peaks in the fall should not come as a surprise:
Liu and Chan (1999) and Merrill (1984) have provided analyses of the size of TCs and have already
established that their size peaks in the Fall (Sept–Oct). Note that the direct assertion that IKE is
more sensitive to TC size than peak wind speed is nowhere to be found in either Powell and
Reinhold (2007), Misra et al. (2013) or Kozar and Misra (2015). In fact, Misra et al. (2013) state
that "the peak in TIKE is associated with a corresponding peak in larger sized storms in September"
because they also determined that there is a tendency to larger TCs in September. Kozar and Misra
(2015) note that "IKE is also tied to storm size and the many different processes that govern it."
Besides the geometry of the basin and the climatological atmospheric state, are there any other
effects that could explain the differences between AL and EP? It seems that parts of the analysis

Causes Of Extinction Or Bust : Hitchhiking Killers
Extinction or Bust: Hitchhiking Killers
In the short history of human life, at least in the scale of earth's existence, they have traveled and
moved around more than any animal or plant could have dreamed and they were not alone on those
journeys. Like anyone going on a trip today, most people end up taking a little more than they
expected with them. This extra baggage could be anything as small as a spore to livestock and others
animals, but even the sometimes small packages can end up being deadly. Introducing an organism
into a population that has no defenses against it, means in the fight for survival the native species
doesn't often survive. That's why one of the most dangerous forces of extinction is the loss of
diversity through the introduction of new species and the death of native species.
The first occasion of organisms traveling with humans can be seen when Pacific rats hitched a ride
with Polynesian seamen to islands such as Hawaii, New Zealand and Easter Island. This first wave
of Pacific rats took over the islands and completely changed the islands because they had no
predators on these new islands and a certified buffet of creatures with no fear or no way to fight
back. That case has been repeated time and time again with the crossover of species into native
environments with human spread across the earth. For example if that first wave of rats wasn't bad
enough for the islands once Europeans started coming over to the islands they brought the Norway
rat,

The Impact Of Technology On The Workforce

  • 1. The Impact Of Technology On The Workforce The advancement of technology has impacted many areas of life, especially the workforce. Advances in technology, such as the development of the robot, have started to have a significant impact on the individual worker. These workers come from many different areas of life, some including manufacturing, service, and jobs that do not require much education. For example, manufacturing jobs have been impacted by the robot because the robot is able to perform manufacturing skills at an easier and faster rate than humans. Jobs that also do not require extensive education will be impacted because robots will be able to replace these humans since it does not take a lot of expertise to fulfill these particular jobs. The interaction with robots is also an area addressed in the paper. Communication with other humans will be affected because people will be dealing with robots more at your local stores or your local movie theaters. Humans will be associated more with technology and less with human interaction. In addition to these ideas, the future of workers is addressed in this paper. Even though there will be a loss of jobs and a declining economy because of the increase in robots may at first not seem beneficial, it will all work out in the end. The loss of jobs will create more jobs since robots will be doing their jobs at a faster rate, creating more of a demand for other jobs to perform their jobs faster. Humans will have to be recruited for these jobs to keep up with the demand of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Outline Of Proposed Proposal For A Proposal Introduction The introduction of the proposal should be one complete page long and will most likely be divided into two paragraphs. Notice that the section headings (Table of Contents, Abstract, Introduction, etc.) are still formatted in Times New Roman, 12 point font. Titles, cover pages, and section headings do not need to be in oversized font, but these may be bolded or underlined to create a separation between the heading and the text. Also, notice that the section heading appears on the first line and the text begins on the second line (extra space and/or skipped lines should not be present). The introduction will give more details about the problem that the proposal solution will address. While the problem was identified in the letter of transmittal and the abstract of the proposal, this section will allow for more details to be identified about the exact problem. The reader should have a complete understanding of exactly what led the author to write this proposal. This will be the only place that the problem will be discussed in detail and may include data or statistics related to the problem. Ideally, this portion of the proposal should not include any figures, tables, or illustrations. Instead, those can be utilized in the body of the proposal to explain the solution plan and benefits. The second paragraph of the introduction can discuss the purpose of the proposal (the solution and request). This should briefly introduce or outline what the proposal suggests as ... • 5. A Brief Note On The Easiest Part Of Writing Essay 1) The easiest part of writing this essay was the introduction. The introduction was the easiest part of the essay for me, because it just reiterated the main point of the essay and set up my rhetorical analysist. 2) I think I did best on the part of the analysis that I discussed Junod's introduction as an author and the introduction of his mother. 3) I struggled mostly with just the analysis itself. It is hard analyzing other people's work. 4) I will improve my analysis on my next paper by rereading the essay and making notes about the content until I have enough information for a well written analysis. 5) I had questions about the audience of this paper and the reason behind this piece of work. I did ask myself these questions and I think I got the proper responses. 6) I did not really have any questions about documentation, but I did not know I needed to cite the article until you told us in class. 7) I do not have questions about MLA format only because I have made frequent trips to Purdue Owl writing portal. 8) I did not use any of the tools listed, besides when you looked over our papers. I reread the essay until I thought I knew what the author was portraying to the audience. 9) I am not very good at using transition words or placing my commas in the right place which is a major issue when reading another's essay. Society has told us for the last hundreds of years that the woman's job around the house as shown in Figure 1 is to cook, clean, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Reflection Paper I walked into second period on August seventh and was greeted by my teacher, Mrs Key. She was straight to the point, telling me, "This class will make you work; if you cannot handle it, get out." I began to question my decision to take her class, doubts seeping into my mind as I knew myself too well as an awful writer. I thought, "Should I really take this class?" Ultimately, I determined that I could manage the work in the class and make it to the final paper. As a student with a four grade– point average, I expected the class to be effortless. However, the weekly papers combined with such a challenging class resulted in a constant bombardment of low grades, making me realize that I was very wrong. I started to put forth more effort in the class, and although I started the year writing atrocious pieces, I can proudly say that my work has improved significantly. I had a tough start to the year, struggling in the areas of my theses, introductions, transitions, and conclusions; however, my effort has been rewarded by their obvious improvement to further emphasize that even the most terrible of writers can experience success. My first paper, "A City on Fire", was a dreadful conglomeration of words mashed into a paper just to meet the word count. I simply focused on meeting and even exceeding it; as a result, my paper had no flow, rhyme, or reason. Additionally, one of the major problems I found in this paper was my conclusion. Like so many high school seniors, I like to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Reflection On English And Writing English and writing are not my strongest subjects. When I was in high school, I thought writing papers was a piece of cake. I knew college would be very demanding, especially going into a health profession. So that meant I would be taking English classes and writing many papers. I knew they would be more difficult than high school, and longer. The writing process is very helpful even though I do have some weaknesses. This class showed me that I was not the only one struggling with English and that it takes practice and time to improve my writing skills. Prewriting was not easy for me. I would make a simplified outline with very too little information. This was why I would be all over the place. I felt like that would take way to much time and that if I would just start writing everything would come together. However, that did not turn out that way. I would always start the body paragraphs because those were easier to write than the introduction and conclusion. In high school, we were told to leave your introduction for last. The introduction paragraph would take a while to construct and revise. For certain papers I was able to create the introduction right away and for others, I wasn't. Writing the introduction would be hard for me if the topic was something I was not fond of. I really needed to be engaged in the paper to write well enough. I need help in creating a thesis because I didn't know how to describe all of my points in a sentence. Once I would get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this document I will provide you with some key tips on writing introductions. I will help you understand why those tips are important. And I will provide you with examples to help you use those tips. If you read this document and practise writing introductions – you will be a better writer and you will get better marks. See what I did there? See how I tried to capture your attention and get you to read on? See how you understand what to expect of this document? That's the whole point of an introduction. As Jo Hunt says, writing a law essay is not like writing a detective novel. No one wants to wait until the last line for the big reveal, to find out "whodunit". Instead, you need to be telling your reader, in your introduction, exactly what your conclusion is going to be. As Richard Moorhead comments, "Outside of fiction, and interestingly judicial judgments, writing should generally not be a magical mystery tour. The best writing generally tells the reader what they will learn from reading the full text and it does so very early on (in the introduction). So if the question is, Do you think capital punishment is right or wrong, you would say from the outset of the essay what your line is. Say, "I will argue that capital punishment is wrong." Or, "I will argue that capital punishment is right for certain types of offence."" 4. Keep it short and keep it snappy. The introduction introduces. It doesn't give everything in full detail. That's what the body of your essay is for. So, in exam conditions where you have 45 minutes – 1 hour for an answer, you're probably looking at no more than a couple of paragraphs. In summative work (or work in non–exam conditions), try and keep your introduction to no more than 10% of the total word count. This figure, 10%, is not a magic number. It's just a rough guide. Be sensible. Remember that the Introduction is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most important purpose of an introduction letter is to introduce your business and yourself to another business or a group of people. What is the purpose of an introduction letter? • 19. The Tempest Critical Analysis The Thrilling Tempest "The beauty of literature allows readers to see things through other people's eyes. All good books do this" Sandra Cisneros' observation demonstrates how Act I of The Tempest by William Shakespeare is a very well written introduction. Shakespeare introduces the main characters using descriptive and interesting backstories so the reader fully understands the characters and what the context of the story is. Another positive component to Act I was how Shakespeare reveals the themes of betrayal and ambition early in the story. Shakespeare also creates a conflict immediately, which captivates the reader. The introduction to The Tempest allows the reader to "see through the eyes of the character" further strengthening the fact that Act I is an excellent introduction. Sandra Cisneros observes that "The beauty of literature allows readers to see things through other people's eyes". Shakespeare effectively introduces the main protagonists with backstories so detailed and well written that the reader can "see things through the eyes of the characters". • 21. A Comparison Of A Doll House And A Doll's House Many blockbuster films within this day and age have been found to be based off books. Some directors put their own twist to the film and others try to cinematically depict the story directly from the book. This is the case with the film of A Doll's House (1973) by Joseph Losey featuring Jane Fonda as Nora Helmer, Losey's adaptation incorporates most elements of the film but some scenes appear different. Many scenes from the film are almost exactly the way they are in the book and the overall film has the exact same idea as the original book in which Nora leaves her husband and children to go to live in the city. Some viewers may prefer the book version and others the cinematic version. The cinematic version overall is much more realistic and every character's features and behaviors are identically depicted as within the book. The book and film of A Doll's House takes place within a small unspecified Norwegian town during the late 1800's. During this era, men were viewed to be more superior than women because the men would support the family while the women were just seen as housewives. This can be seen as an example all throughout the play. Although during that era, feminism wasn't a concept yet, an early form of feminism lingers within the play and seems to be one of the main themes. My favorite character within the play is Nora, the role her character plays within the film keeps the film very interesting and gives the play some flavor. She brings life to both book and ... • 23. Great Gatsby Reflection At the begging of the year, I had little knowledge to write an essay for this class, especially since we did not have many guidelines. For my glorious moment paper, I changed a good amount of text. I went back throwing, revising my paper and making changes. Overall, I changed a majority of my sentence structures because the first final draft contained numerous bland versions. Many of my sentences also had to be fixed in the begging so that they were not so repetitive. From there, I thought it would have been a good idea to changing my opening and closing portions of my essays. I made my introduction and my conclusion end in the same place so that it all ties together. I also made a large amount of changes in my cause and effect essay. Reading and revising the paper, I noticed that the effects were not evident. So, I changed my introduction. While changing my introduction, I noticed that my body paragraphs did not fit. So, I went back through and decided to make all of my paragraphs into something different. In dong so, I made my paper much stronger and I did not have to keep stating how I came to be. I also wen back to the appositive, participial, and prepositional packets we did and tried to use a variety of different structures. Finally, I also made large changing in my AP Essay for The Great Gatsby. After rereading my paper I realized that my paper could be much stronger. In order to make my essay stranger I had to change and critique my introduction. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Speech Persuasive Speech Comparison Speech Comparison #2 Ted Talks is a treasure trove of information, capable of providing anyone with a mountain of information on whatever might interest them. It is different to many other sources in regards to how that information is given out, this being the way most all their videos are of people giving speeches. Given the vast collection of speeches on the site, we can find many a great performances where it is obvious that the speaker had a great effect on the audience and also where the audience wasn't very much influenced. On the topic of aging and general health, there were two speeches by Aubrey de Grey's and Dan Buettner, and we will be comparing these two speeches together No great speech can be created without a good hook. Unfortunately, it seems like neither of them really created a great hook. They failed to really capture the attention of the audience and reel them in. Both introductions had weak hooks, but they made it so that you at least knew what the speakers were going to talk about and what direction they're going to take with their speeches. Despite both intros being weak, Aubrey de Grey's introduction was clearly weaker. Grey did not have any hook whatsoever. Instead, he told the audience that he was strapped for time and that he would need to dive in right ahead. Buettner on the other hand, at least tried to create a hook by starting off with a fact that not many people would know. It was weak, but better than nothing. The hook is out of the way and next is fluidity for the introduction. Bueller makes it easy for the audience to follow along with what he's saying. His use of transitive words guides the audience and it makes it easy to follow along. This along with his pleasant tone and flow makes it easy to pay attention. A stark contrast to Grey's speech. Grey at times became quite hard to follow due to his near monotonal voice and the speed at which he spoke. It was hard to follow what he was saying and often times I ended up lost, missing quite a bit of the information that he was giving out. At one point, I even checked that I had not accidentally changed the video's speed because of how fast it was going. This combined with the lack of any real hook, made it very hard to pay ... Even though I gave the students clear instructions, I believe that I should have done the 'I do, We do, You do' strategy with them to compute the prices, discounts, and markups in the introduction activity. I also feel that this whole activity, along with the implementation of the 'I do, We do, You do' teaching strategy, really would have been more effective for the students. I had assumed that their previous class would have provided them with enough experience to allow them to compute discounts by themselves, but I do recognize that they needed even more practice with the teacher. If this problem was improved, I could have more opportunities to assess my students and give them prompt feedback as well. I could fix this problem by making my activities more simple and shorter, and providing early finishers with more challenging work depending on their capabilities. For students that finish their work early but need more remediation, I could pull them to the side and provide one–on–one instruction to correct misunderstanding right then. Examining my teaching, I notice that I was lacking in cooperation among my students. I did ask my students a few higher order thinking questions, but I monopolized the introduction activity with my verbal instructions. I did not allow the students to explain how they would go about finishing the task that I assigned to them. I was more like a dictator rather than letting the students explore and explain their understanding of the task that I prompted them to complete. Without student cooperation, I am not aware of what misunderstandings my students have. Additionally, if student cooperation is lacking, my students could get easily bored and it will be harder to get them back into a learning mode. Also, I feel that students need to take control of their own learning, and this can be completed with student cooperation. Analysis Of Sandra Cisneros's The House On Mango Street Just by looking at the front cover of The House on Mango Street, one could grasp an idea of what the novel is about and how it is presented. It is a story, decorated with colorful detail and authenticity, of a girl adjusting to a new home and growing up. In the introduction to the novel, Cisneros paints a picture of who she had been at the time she had written this novel. Cisneros discusses how as a girl she always wanted to move into a standalone house as opposed to the apartments she had been living in throughout her early childhood. She also mentions her father's role in her life and how they had not often seen eye to eye. Her father had never understood why she wanted to live in a house. He also had wanted Cisneros to marry and have babies, however, at the time she had written this novel, she had been uninterested in that. Meanwhile, she states that she has never had a father or boyfriend beat her when she writes about how privileged her life had been up to that point. This is all reflected in The House on Mango Street. Sandra Cisneros writes in her own unique voice in The House on Mango Street by using unconventional short anecdotes that feature a cast of distinct characters to include aspects of her own life. In the beginning of the introduction, Cisneros describes what she was like when she was a young. Cisneros writes, "As a girl, she dreamed of having a silent home, just to herself..." (Cisneros xii). Lewis, The "Promiscuous Audience" Controversy and the Emergence of the Early Woman 's Rights Movement by Susan Zaeske, and Medicine, Rhetoric, and Euthanasia: A Case Study in the Workings of a Postmodern Discourse by Michael J. Hyde each employ a variety of strategies to examine the rhetoric of three distinct situations. This paper will attempt to dissect each of the essays in a comparative manner. Specifically, it will evaluate the introductions, how effectively they are constructed, and how the essays follow according to the expectations set forth in the introductions. In Telling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hyde's essay explains its objectives in a similar manner though not as obviously. The essay by Hyde provides a clear statement of purpose in less than half of the words that Lewis used. His statement of purpose is just as obvious as Lewis's, but he does not include a formal list like Lewis's. Hyde writes a quick paragraph describing his subject which includes a humorous quote from Woody Allen. The joke "softens" the controversial topic, coaxing the reader into continuing, perhaps even if the subject seems too grim. After the first paragraph Hyde jumps straight into his essay's purpose. This is quite different than Lewis's lengthy intro, but he still manages to effectively communicate his purpose. This quick, concise approach makes Lewis's intro seem almost too long. Hyde moves on to subtly urge the reader to keep an open mind to "a profession that has long been conditioned to feel ill at ease with rhetoric". This prepares the reader to view the difficult issue euthanasia from a critical standpoint and provides a context for medical rhetoric. Unlike the many examples provided in the Lewis essay, Hyde relies mainly on the "It's over Debbie" article. This example does a good job fulfilling most of the objectives that he set out to accomplish. Zaske approaches her introduction in a different manner than the previous writers. She provides several questions that will be answered in the essay and briefly describes some of the topics to be addressed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Marketing Objective Of Introducing A Protein Based Beer Marketing Objective The primary objective of introducing a protein based beer into the market is to target a more diverse segment of consumers. Based on the fact that craft beer drinkers are generally not loyal to a particular brand and are continuously sampling new craft flavour as new products are continuously introduced into the market, the introduction of a protein based beer is appealing in that it correlates with the growing national trend of health consciousness. In Canada, heath awareness is growing among all Canadians which has led to many individuals pursuing a healthier lifestyle by integrating continuous health measures into their daily and active lives (BDC, 2013). Moreover, the high– protein trend has surged its way through packaged food and beverage domains as it is one of the very few nutrients that has remained unscathed by health controversies (Baroke, 2015). The core focus pertaining to segmentation will emphasize on the psychographic lifestyle aspect which will be referred as the "Health Conscious Beer Consumer". This segment refers to individuals who are physically active, generally aware of what they consume and also appreciate the socializing aspect of consuming beer. It is important to note that consumers across Canada are becoming more informative and are continuously making efforts to break adverse habit forming behaviours pertaining to diet (BDC, 2013). We will take a look at just how well this article follows the advice on layout and perhaps it will change our outlook on how an article should be written. First, we will look at how the authors decided to begin their article. They begin by introducing the company, a Fortune–100 one, by saying they have over $7 million worth of parts inventory in their vans. Of course when anyone sees a large number like $7 million and Fortune 100 mentioned it draws them in. The authors then explain that they must refer to the company as "Alpha" in order for it to remain anonymous. (Michael & Sanjay, 2006) Add a little mystery and you've grabbed the reader by the brain and they want to figure out just what is so important about part inventory on vans. The net two paragraphs deal mostly with the explanation about why the company would want to keep parts overstock low and the costs of keeping too many parts in stock. They finish up the introduction by stating that the whole underlying problem is trying to decide out of the 70,000 available parts which 400 needs to be stocked on the technicians vans. (Michael & Sanjay,2006). So just how well did the author follow the model? They appear to have done a good job at drawing the reader in using some numbers and how they equate to the large problem of deciding what to stock. Most people in the industry will be curious as to just who they are talking about which will draw more readers in. Describing just what part overstock is and how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It premiered in the early summer of 2010. Based on a teen/drama/mystery series, this show has rapidly gained success. When you watch the opening credits for the first time without knowing anything about the show, it's easy to guess what the show is about; but once you know or at least have a clue of the drama, it's easier to notice the relationship between the introduction and the content. This song and, more specifically its lyrics, link perfectly everything from the intro to the drama and conflict of the show. The song has a kind of scary and mysterious melody. The lyrics of the song say: "Got a secret, can you keep it, swear this one you'll save. The lyrics of the song help the viewer analyze the intro and because of this they may come to the conclusion that the four girls in the back of the casket may have something to do with the death of the girl. The girls' faces give the viewer a lot of information. Their facial expressions gives away the fact that they are hiding something. Some of the seniors from last year told me that it was not particularly difficult, but I needed to be prepared to work. However, last year's seniors had the class for a whole semester; I had only nine weeks. As a result, I was not aware of how fast paced Composition I would be. In previous classes, I was used to having long increments of time to complete research papers, but now, I am expected to complete research papers in much shorter amounts of time, sometimes just one week. Even though this process has been quite grueling at certain times, my introductions, content, and sentence variation have massively improved, making it easier to put my ideas on paper. Introduction paragraphs have always been my Achilles' heel. Straining my brain for long periods of time, I just could not come up with ways to start my papers. An introduction is one of the most important components of a research paper because it sets the tone for the entire body. This is done by steering clear of incendiary language and making use of the technique of "restatement". The goal of this type of argumentation is for the two sides to settle on a common ground. The purpose of this essay is to determine whether factors outside of school play as much as role in one's education as school itself. Many people, including me, struggle in writing because of a lack of knowledge. Since middle school, English was not a strong suit of mine. I struggled with the simplest of tasks often taking a considerably longer time to complete a task than the other students. Unmotivated teachers and a lack of interest resulted in remedial writing skills. When writing, I place punctuation by mimicking authors' formats or by placing them where it feels right. This is present in all of my writing, but I am attempting to improve. Punctuation also plays a part in another weakness of mine, one that is most likely present within this essay. Since middle school, it was engrained in my mind that a good essay is a long essay, so I have a tendency for wordiness. To elongate an essay, I tend to add needless words and sentences. For example, in the rough draft of the Whole Process Essay, I added several unrelated occurrences to elongate the paragraphs. Although my essays were long and wordy, the professor commented on vagueness and unclearness within the whole process and practice essay. Sometimes, I disregard the fact that the reader might not know what it is I am writing about or the sentence makes perfect sense to me. The latter is the most common, I quickly read the sentence and it appears fine to me. Within the Whole Process Essay, another weakness was brought to my attention. I lack structure, a key element in effective writing. The tale could also be seen as a folk tale, set in a realistic setting with real people, but the events are skewed and not quite right. The epic accomplishes the first possible intention through its many characters, the use known locations, and basing the majority of the tale around two individual families that would have been well known around the time it was written. However, the tale is not entirely accurate, which strengthens the idea that it was more of a folk tale. Throughout the epic the audience is introduced to two families, beginning far before the birth of the man who would attributed to the title. The tale then follows these families through the events that led up to the main plot of the epic, going so far as to keep detailed track of who married who and where each character came from. Sales in response to different marketing and response strategies helps us comprehend if the strategies are effective and efficiently working. Whenever, new products are introduced a lot of money is invested in marketing and promoting the new products to encourage or boost the sales of the product. Even though there are many reasons for the introduction of prohibition there was only one main consequence. It created the greatest criminal boom in American ... Nevertheless, this would not stop the large population of German–Americans buying the alcohol along with many other Americans who had come to America from other countries. An additional consideration that led people in the belief that prohibition would succeed was the cost of alcohol so people may have used the law as an opportunity to give up alcohol without seeming odd to others. Moreover, this problem would not prevent wealthy Americans from trying to purchase alcohol because they had the money to do it without sending their family into the downwards spiral of poverty. Also, to begin with the level of enforcement for the law was so high that even if people did not support the law, the prohibition commissioners could have worked hard to dispose of alcohol whilst gathering support. However, this hard work soon ended when the commissioners, along with the police, politicians, magistrates, party officials and clerks, began to accept bribes from gangsters and the owners of speakeasies to ignore the activities that were taking place around them. • 64. Strong Introductions How to Write Strong Introductions Understanding Introductions All papers should include an introduction for their readers found at the beginning of the paper. Usually the introduction is one paragraph, but it may be two paragraphs in length. The introduction presents the topic of the paper and provides the main idea and supporting details which will be explained and developed in the paper. It is essential that all parts of the introduction relate to each other. Generally, the final sentence of the introductory paragraph contains the thesis statement. Well–written introductions guide the reader's understanding of the paper. Furthermore, well–constructed introductions make papers easier for authors to write. Writing Introductions For best results, it is usually necessary to write the introduction twice. First, write an introduction that contains the components that will be included in the paper. This will serve to guide the development of the paper. Once the paper has been revised, return to the introduction and check to make sure it covers all the areas discussed in the paper. Finally ask, "Does the introduction engage and focus readers' attention?" (Aaron, 2006, p. 6). If either of those areas need improvement, revise the introduction accordingly. ... • 70. Introduction Of A New Vaccine Essay Introduction of a New Vaccine to an Existing Immunization Program The introduction of new vaccines is usually planned at national level by the national immunization program managers. These managers are assisted by medical consultants to make informed decisions on how they can add a new vaccine to an existing program. Such new vaccines are introduced to strengthen the existing program while the program is used to accommodate more vaccine; thus, cost is reduced. Therefore, there is a need to have a decision making procedure that will act as a technical tool for planning, implementing and monitoring the introduction of new vaccines. The first procedure is to gather data on the different factors to be considered to make informed and justifiable decisions. These data include; the disease outbreak, the affected group, and the death caused among others. The second step is to analyze each data to determine the ground on which the introduction of the vaccine is justified. This step is useful as it shows the seriousness of the diseases and determines the urgency at which the vaccine should be carried to contain the spread of the ailment. Another step is to estimate the cost of the exercise where the manufacturer quotes the price and the shipping expenses in case the vaccine is imported. Additionally, the cost of storage and transportation to the specific areas where the outbreak of the disease has occurred is calculated. Also, the cost of hiring health care providers for introducing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Review of "A comparative study of the Integrated Kinetic Energy in the tropical cyclones in the north east Pacific and the north Atlantic basins" Summary: The authors compare 2004–2013 TCs in the North Atlantic and East Pacific basins, using IKE (TC extended best track data set) and rainfall (TRMM–3B42). The introduction defines the concept of IKE and explains that a comparison of IKE in the EP and AL basins will be carried. The following analysis provides the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC count, then shifts the focus to: the relationship between IKE and TC genesis location the differences between the upper and lower terciles of IKE in terms of: TC track density TC location at maximum IKE TC genesis location the relationship between IKE ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why is the analysis focused on genesis (Fig 2 and 5, Table 3)? Is there a hypothesized difference between AL and EP when it comes to the relationship between location of genesis and maximum IKE? What would that hypothesized difference tell us? What does the seasonal cycle of IKE and TC count (Fig 1) tell us that is new? Are there expected differences with Fig 1 from Misra et al. (2013)? If TC size explains most of IKE, the fact that IKE peaks in the fall should not come as a surprise: Liu and Chan (1999) and Merrill (1984) have provided analyses of the size of TCs and have already established that their size peaks in the Fall (Sept–Oct). Note that the direct assertion that IKE is more sensitive to TC size than peak wind speed is nowhere to be found in either Powell and Reinhold (2007), Misra et al. (2013) or Kozar and Misra (2015). In fact, Misra et al. (2013) state that "the peak in TIKE is associated with a corresponding peak in larger sized storms in September" because they also determined that there is a tendency to larger TCs in September. Kozar and Misra (2015) note that "IKE is also tied to storm size and the many different processes that govern it." Besides the geometry of the basin and the climatological atmospheric state, are there any other effects that could explain the differences between AL and EP? After studied arts management at undergraduate school in Taiwan, now I am still studying in this field in America. Therefore, I am interested in the education of the arts management in the US. The aim of the paper is to examine the research paper, "The MFA in Arts Management" (Rosenstein, 2013) to understand the arts management's condition in American education. Furthermore, through this paper, I may understand how hard I need to work in this discipline and find the academic writing in the field. Following, I will introduce Swales and Feak's (2012) moves, summarize the research paper, and discuss the writing skill, including structure and style, in the article. First of all, the introduction of the each paper is very important. It previews the brief summary for readers to understand what they will read and makes the reader choice a paper efficiently. Hence, I want to introduce academic moves from Swales and Feak (2012). Basing on Swales and Feak (2012), the introduction of the article, "the MFA in Arts Management," shows 3 moves. The move 1a describes how important the issue will be discussed in the article paper. Through the "Over its fifty–years in the academy..." the move 1a describes that the arts administration, also called arts management, has developed as a professional field gradually in higher institution. • 79. Causes Of Extinction Or Bust : Hitchhiking Killers Extinction or Bust: Hitchhiking Killers In the short history of human life, at least in the scale of earth's existence, they have traveled and moved around more than any animal or plant could have dreamed and they were not alone on those journeys. Like anyone going on a trip today, most people end up taking a little more than they expected with them. This extra baggage could be anything as small as a spore to livestock and others animals, but even the sometimes small packages can end up being deadly. Introducing an organism into a population that has no defenses against it, means in the fight for survival the native species doesn't often survive. That's why one of the most dangerous forces of extinction is the loss of diversity through the introduction of new species and the death of native species. The first occasion of organisms traveling with humans can be seen when Pacific rats hitched a ride with Polynesian seamen to islands such as Hawaii, New Zealand and Easter Island. This first wave of Pacific rats took over the islands and completely changed the islands because they had no predators on these new islands and a certified buffet of creatures with no fear or no way to fight back. That case has been repeated time and time again with the crossover of species into native environments with human spread across the earth. For example if that first wave of rats wasn't bad enough for the islands once Europeans started coming over to the islands they brought the Norway rat, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
