CCH is one of the few organizations with many years but a ground forceCCH has good facilities for education webinars, teacher training, high level government meetings and site visitsVPC has world class teachers an incredible resource for CCH and Haiti schools for professional developmentKeeping the teaching mission MUST BE SIMPLE and the focus CLEAR and NARROW at least at firstCCH MUST find other collaborative organizations to work with for funds and resources…and those that have experience on what works in educationCollaborative organizations mean: (1) Organizations that have experience CCH can partner with (2) Funding Sources (3) local architecture, national energy & telecommunications etc
Teacher qualityWe found that teaching was even more rudimentary than expectedCurrent situation may not inspire and reach enough learners putting advancement at riskMany local limitations (resources, food etc)Teaching to a heterogeneous group if students (e.g. Teenagers placed in elementary grades)Facilities/InfrastructureMore than just a schoolFlexible, moveable architectureNot just about bricks and mortar but also facilitiesGROWTH considerationsCost efficient and greenPathway to technology introductionLocalized materialsPrint materials are challenge-funds needed for translation and localizationMany students don’t have books and are at a disadvantage. Some don’t have money for uniforms and food…how do we create an equal playing field ???
Condition of the Roof…a tarp, and in some part, shower curtains… is consistently compromised and in constant need of repair
The school current is also use as a church on Sundays, sometimes powered by a generator at night. The electric wiring is a hazard…accident waiting to happen
