My Favorite Animals Essay
When I was eight, I promised myself that I would never go back to a zoo in my life. It's not that a
dislike animals, in the contrary, I've always liked animals from a very young age. When I was
young, I would turn on the TV and go on Animal Planet. I would immediately be amazed by how

Throughout most of my life I have had one consistent goal; to become a veterinarian. I have had a
continuous and solid passion for animals in all respects. This passion and love has fueled my in
striving to achieve the dreams I have for myself after high school. The beginning of this story
begins long before high school though. The descent into the most challenging times of my life
began when I was in fourth grade. Not a lot of people can say they have hit rock bottom at age

My Favorite Dog Essay
Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them,

love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but

trust us implicitly, with a wag of a tail or the twitch of a whisker telling us that they intuitively
know how we feel. The look in their eyes says it all – I love you.
Our companion animals, our pets. We, as humans think that we have chosen our pets, in many
situations it seems as if we have. However, many times on a higher level of awareness, they have
chosen us. How many times do you see people that look like their dogs or is it that their dogs look
like them! The feline fellowship and affinity that comes from the cats that slink into our lives helps
us attune to life.

Even though I call myself a dogaholic, I love all animals big and small!
There is one other fact of life that cannot be ignored. The emotional earthquake of grief when your
beloved pet transitions from their physical body. Many people feel the same intense feelings of loss
and physical separation irrespective of whether it is a human being or non–human being. It’s
irrelevant whether the pet is four legged, two legged, furry or feathered. Grief is grief, loss is loss.
The feelings are the same, the challenges are no less.
The manifestation of the grief process is different for everyone, but the root cause is the same.
It’s not something you learn in textbooks, but the actual experience catapults you to a totally
different dimension of your inner being that perhaps you never knew existed. There are people who

A Day With My Dog
It is easy to identity that when we have animals in our life, our daily routine without a doubt,
transforms. However, how often do we look back on the time spent with our pets and take a look
and realize all the ways owning an animal can change our perspective on life. Not only can our
animals change the way we look at things, but can make us into better people. There is an
understanding to why I think my dog, Molly has truly transformed who I am into an exceptional
human being. Molly represents me because she is an example of how much I have changed for
the better, and ended up exactly where I want to be. The picture is myself and my dog Molly and I
at my grade twelve graduation, after one year of having her four legs, wet nose, long tail and endless
amount of affection come into my life. I honestly cannot even imagine my life without my dog. Life
before her was a complete mess. I fought with my parents on a regular basis on how irresponsible I
was, I was not physically active, I was always out partying and I was selfish. On an evening in
October of 2014 I received pictures from a friend who had a six week old puppy available whom I
instantly fell in love with. The moment I confirmed that I was going to officially adopt Molly, I
instantly thought I did not know what I got myself into. In order to properly train a puppy, you
need to have lots of patience, responsibility, and most importantly; you need to be able to let go of
