Descriptive Essay About A Pet
To many, a pet is more than just an animal that lives in the same house as them. A pet is more than
a nuisance with fur that one has to feed and care for. To many, a pet is another family member. A
pet is a constant companion that is there to play, cuddle, and bring one joy. Most people
remember their first pet. They remember how their pet was always there to comfort them when
their own world seemed to be falling apart. Sadly, one also remembers when their first pet died.
How when they left you, they also left a gaping hole in your heart that remained hollow ever
since. Many of my earliest memories are filled with images of putting cats into doll dresses or
playing with them at every possible second. In the fall of 2013, it had been nearly a year since we
had owned a cat, and my siblings and I yearned for such a companion. We searched for one for
what felt like an eternity. After weeks of searching, a friend told us that she had akitten on the farm
that would die if he remained there over winter. As soon as we saw a photo of the kitten, we
eagerly agreed to take him off their shoulders. When he finally arrived to us, we instantly fell in
love. He had beautiful black fur with paws as white as snow. We admired his white patch on his
face that had an uneven black spot on it. Finally, after debating about a name for days, we decided
on the name Jack. Jack adjusted to life with us quickly. As the years flew by, he morphed into my

The final reason why it is beneficial to have pets is for learning. Pets can teach kids things will
probably need to know when they grow up. Here is why pets are beneficial for learning purposes.
Supporting Detail #1
First, Pets can teach responsibility which is a very important life skill. To care for apet you must
feed it, give it exercise, give it affection, and much more. This teaches responsibilty because it
shows kids that they need to make time in their day to feed their pet, to play with it, and to walk it.
When kids who own pets grow up they will most likely be very responsible because of the valuable
lessons taught in their childhood when they had that pet.
Supporting Detail #2
Next, Pets can actually teach kids respect. This is because children must be respectful to their pets
in order to make them happy and in order for them to like the child. For example, Children must not
disturb their pets when they are eating or sleeping, and they must be gentle when they are petting
/touching their pet. If children respect there pets they will most likely respect people too. That is
why pets are great for

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Keeping A Pet
Pets are loved by everyone for many reasons; no matter what breed of animal you own, they can
bring happiness to your lives. However, when you are thinking of getting a pet for the first time,

no longer amongst you, there is a lot to consider when keeping a pet.
People have pets for various reasons, whether given as a present or perhaps the children are
interested in having their first pets; or you were unable to have a pet as a child but are in more
suitable circumstances or simply because you and they share a love for animals, the notion to need
and want a pet is deep–rooted in our psyche. This is perhaps not surprising considering pets act

Descriptive Essay About My Dog

I looked at my dog and made eye contact with his large brown eyes. Time seemed to slow down as
I read his eyes like an open book. I still remember the look today, while I was laying on the couch
next to him. It was the most terrifying sight I've ever seen. My dog, my best friend, and the only
thing to trust me with everything calmly could show that he had accepted death. For me though
he was still could wagging his tail for us. The night I saw this was October 22nd at 8:02 PM. This
dog changed my entire perspective on life. He was a dog that could instantly make a room bloom
as a flower would, but with joy. He loved life and those around him and that caused us to love him
so much.

I was thinking about how Journey must feel. Journey had a cancerous tumor the size of a baseball
in him. It was in a horrible spot, right on where is small intestine meets his large intestine. My dog
would need to be out down or else he would starve to death. After I finished eating and cleared my
place, I pulled out Journey's dish. Everyday I tried to feel him a little of something to eat but the
only thing it seemed he could keep down was broth. Plain, smelly, brown, beef broth. Today, he only
ate a little barely two spoonfuls and nothing else. Journey was too sick to eat.
I remember a week or so earlier when my mom came home after bringing Journey home from the
vet. There were so many tears that day. She told me that Journey had a tumor where his large and
small intestine met. The tumor was baseball sized and because of its size, was blocking part of his
digestive system. Basically, Journey was going to starve to death if we didn't put him down. The
shards of memory from that day rushed back to me as Journey refused to eat anymore. "Come on
big guy!" I said as I ushered Journey upstairs. As he struggled to get up the stairs onto his
designated spot, it scared me that he went from being an energetic, hyper dog into this.I didn't
know how to feel, I just felt like a shell, empty, emotionless, lost on an island where I've never been,
alone. I had not the slightest idea what to do and that gave me a sense of hopelessness. I sat down,

Descriptive Essay About Losing A Pet
Among the saddest truths about this lifetime is this: A dog's life is significantly shorter than a
human's life. I said goodbye to my beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Samson, on March 26th, 2017.
He was ten years old. It is an opinion to say that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family.
The fact is, though, it is an understatement. Dogs are unique in their own ways. As it is said,
"Grief is the price you pay for love." And I paid a heavy priced that day. It is unbelievable how we
take things for granted. Plans are made for each day, and we do not think twice about those plans.
Unfortunately, they can change in the blink of an eye. I never personally thought much about it,
until I was faced with the shock and tragedy of the death...show more content...
Pam Brown once said, "If there is a heaven, it is certain our animals are to be there. Their lives
become so interwoven with our own than an archangel to detangle them (Brown,n.d.)." He is now
buried in our backyard with his own stone with the words, "You may have left my life, but you will
never leave my heart" engraved. We received many sympathy cards, but it did not make the
situation any better. However, it was nice to know my friends and family cared. It was the
saddest time in my life. Not a day goes by that I do not think about him. It is very tough to not
break down when I think or talk about him. He was a special boy. For the longest time, there was
a void feeling in my house. A hole was left in my family's hearts. I knew Samson would have
wanted me to give his doggie bed and squeak toys to another deserving dog. He had a wet nose and a
huge heart. Once, in the first week following his passing, I came through my front door and
looked at the area where he would usually be sitting or lying. I called for him with the foolish
notation that he would appear and come running to me. But of course, he did not. Then, I walked
past his empty food bowls and tears started running down my face. It was a shattering reminder that
he was gone and never coming back. Grief was exhausting and painful to say the least. The day after
Samson died, I could not drag myself out of bed. I missed school that day. I could not bear the
feeling of coming home, and him not waiting for me

Descriptive Essay About Animals
JADE My entire life I've always held a special place in my heart for animals. There's just
something about them that makes my usual cold stone exterior melt. Through the course of my life
I've owned several different kinds of pets, majority of which were given away. After owning all
these animals I can say without a doubt I am definitively a cat person. Each time I've lost an animal
it hurt considerably but none of which hurt as much as when I had to give up my cat Jade.
Adopting Jade was a very pivotal point in my life. I had been begging for a pet for months, I'm
talking on my knees pleading with tears in my eyes. I was looking for something to fill the
domestic animal sized void in my heart that was made when they gave my dog Pierce away
because he was "too high maintenance". I was also just thinking about how great it had been
owning our first cat Boots who they gave away because he wasn't very nice to any member of our
family but me. Finally I wore my aunt down enough to where she agreed to take me to the animal
shelter to "look and see". I had never been in an animal shelter before so I had no idea what to
expect when we arrived. It was a reasonably sized building, kind of reminding of a daycare center
for little kids. Literally every dog in the building started barking when we walked in and honestly it
broke my heart that so many of them were without homes. One of the people who worked there
showed us to the first room on our right, one of the rooms

My Dog : I Love My Pet Dog
Just like any normal sixth grader, I loved my pet dog. My dog's name was, Blanco, (which is
Spanish for "white"). I always knew that my dear canine companion would eventually pass away,
but I couldn't believe it when the day came. There was the experience of going outside only to see
my dead friend, hearing what my family had to say, and the sympathy and empathy I received from
peers and teachers at school. The one thing I learned from the experience itself, was that nothing
lasts forever.
It was a Sunday, and I remember my family and I went to church, like usual. I remember after
communion I prayed longer than anyone else in my family because we all knew Blanco was
reaching the end of his life. Unlike a lot of other dogs that lived up to the age of thirteen, Blanco
didn't go blind or act much different at all. I remember asking God, "Just a little longer, please.",
over and over again, but I knew it would be any day now. After the service was over, we drove
back home. Since it was Sunday, we were having family over. We usually always just meet up at my
grandparents, but I'm almost certain that my parents offered to host this particular Sunday, for the
very reason of my dog. My grandparents, aunt, uncle, and their two daughters showed up. I
remember their son, my oldest cousin was somewhere out in the Bahamas for school, so he was out
of the picture. It wasn't long after they showed up that I went outside to see my dog, Blanco, lying in
my backyard, not

My Favorite Animals Essay
When I was eight, I promised myself that I would never go back to a zoo in my life. It's not that a
dislike animals, in the contrary, I've always liked animals from a very young age. When I was
young, I would turn on the TV and go on Animal Planet. I would immediately be amazed by how
much freedom animals had. Unlike humans, animals don't follow agendas. Instead, they are free to
do what they want, which is what I liked the most about animals. This is due to the reason that they
looked as if they would continue on until reaching the end of the world, for it seemed that nothing
was holding them back. However, my encounter with exotic animals was just a series of
disappointments. As I started elementary school, I heard that my school contained a pair of
monkeys that were displayed to the public. Instantly, an uncontrollable excitement appeared because
it would have been my first time seeing monkeys with my own eyes. I expected monkeys playing
and climbing trees. However, the excitement soon turned into disappointment. The view was
repulsing, the pair of monkeys were sitting on the farthest corner of a cage that was no bigger than a
closet, just sitting there doing nothing with clear fear in their faces. I don't even remember seeing
them move except during recess. During recess, children would yell and throw objects at them, with
the idea that it will cause the pair of monkeys to move and entertain them. Evidently, this would
cause the monkeys to climb and run around their

My Love For Animals
Throughout most of my life I have had one consistent goal; to become a veterinarian. I have had a
continuous and solid passion for animals in all respects. This passion and love has fueled my in
striving to achieve the dreams I have for myself after high school. The beginning of this story
begins long before high school though. The descent into the most challenging times of my life
began when I was in fourth grade. Not a lot of people can say they have hit rock bottom at age
nine, but I did and did not go upward for just over three years. During those years I took every
chance I got to escape a house that caused me so much pain; my favorite escape was to play with
an animal, whether it be one of my neighbors' or best friends'. I was able to cope during these
years because interacting with animals could always lift my spirits. Years went by, things got
better, and my love for animals grew. When I was fourteen I persuaded my parents to let me get a
bearded dragon, who I named Sammy. Sammy changed everything and three years later I still
have and love him. However, keeping him healthy has not been the easiest. Sammy does not have a
strong immune system; I cannot count the number of times I sat with him, fed him from a syringe,
and bathed him in warm water for hours because he was so sick. I would take him from his tank
and lay with him under the covers when the power or heat lamps went out. While this may seem
like a herculean task to some, it was common sense to me because

Animal Essay : My Favorite Animal Is The Tiger
My favorite animal is the tiger. I love to go to the zoo and see them, but some people go even
farther than a simple visit to their local zoo. Many people are starting to keep these animals as pets.
The house next store to you might be hiding a bear or a wolf. These fearless owners claim to love
their unusual pets more than anything, and they say that they will do anything for them. Yet, there is
still an ongoing debate on whether or not is right to keep these wild animals as pets, and how much
government regulation is needed.
The amount of exotic pets in the united states may surprise you. Rainsford states in his article "that
about 15,000 non–human primates, such as monkeys, are liling in people's homes...(and) there
about the same number of big cats, like lions and tigers." (Page 17) However, there are many more
that are not included in this count due the pets not having to be registered in some states and people
breaking the laws in others. Either way both paths lead to united states not knowing how many wild
animals are in the country.
By now, you are probably wondering what exactly is an exotic pet. Slater states in her article that "
The term exotic pet has no firm definition; it can refer to any wildlife kept in human households –– or
simply to a pet that's more unusual than the standard dog or cat."(Page 99) Therefore, if you
think about almost any animal could be called an exotic pet. Something does not have to be from
some far off land to be exotic, it just simply needs to be a little more than average. Still, this
doesn't stop people from get the most extravagant or crazy pets as possible. Rainsford interviewed
one owner who owns " a 2,000–pound bison named Bailey." (Page 17) Where would you even get a
2,000–pound bison you ask. The internet, where else?
You might think that it would be super hard to buy an animal like a tiger, but according to
Rainsford you can simple go on the internet and buy one cute baby tiger for the low price of three
hundred dollars. Slater points out how this affects species of this animal. She talks about how people
see that these animals are dying out in their natural habitat and decides to bring them home in an
effort to preserve their species. When actually this is

My bunny is soft as a pillow. Her name is Luna, and she's my favorite bunny in the world. She's

Cats Make the Perfect Pet
Lisa Martin
English 1101
Essay #4
Cats make the perfect pet I have heard the old saying that dogs are man's best friend. I don't know
much about dogs, but I do know a lot about cats. I have had a cat as a pet for at least 30 years.
They are wonderful and I know I will always have one in my life. I think cats make the perfect pet
because they are self sufficient, intelligent, and good companions. The first reason I think that cats
make the perfect pet is because they are self sufficient. Cats can take care of themselves. When we
take cats into our homes as pets, they don't require much attention. Another good example of why
cats are self sufficient is because they are clean animals and they bathe themselves quite...show more

Cats also make good companions because they like to curl up next to us for a good long nap, and
there is no better sleeping partner than a cat. Cats don't care what we look like, they don't expect
anything in return, and they will always keep our feet warm! Another example of why a cat
makes a good companion is because at the end of the day they will not come running up to us at
the door and lick us to death like a dog. They are just glad to see us. A meow and a flip of the tail is
all that is needed to say hello. One more reason cats make good companions is because they can
live long lives. If they are taken care of properly it is not uncommon for them to live into their
teens or twenties. Also cats are good companions because they are soft and cuddly and easy to
love. When looking for a good companion, a cat will make a wonderful choice and a lifelong
friend. My love for cats goes back a long time. In a few years I will probably become the crazy cat
lady. Cats are independent and self sufficient. They are very intelligent animals and they make good
companions. I think these things make the cat a perfect

Benefits of Pets Essay
Pets can be very both physically and emotionally beneficial to their owners. Living with and caring
for them can also be a great experience and very entertaining. Even browsing YouTube, thousands of
pet owners record their little friend's amusing tricks and humorous incidents to share with the world.
Although these videos or pictures can encourage your desire for a similar companion, many details
to keeping an animal of that sort may not be evident. There is a huge variety of species available,
from tarantulas to munchkin cats, with many ways to obtain them, but not everyone can handle a
giant arachnid or endure changing kitty litter. Even with the wide ranging selection, it is imperative
to know how to choose a pet that suits you....show more content...
Discussing questions related to a certain species with experienced owners will give you more of
an insight as to what the animal requires and sometimes discover issues you haven't considered.
Secondly, make sure you are able to provide adequate care for the animal you are thinking of
giving a home to. Sufficient housing is vital but another aspect of providing an adequate home is
how much it generally costs to own a certain pet. If you are considering a dog or cat, they tend to be
more costly than most pets due to amount of food needed, vaccinations, veterinary bills, boarding,
spaying/neutering etc... A snake or gecko are a bit more simple depending on the specific
species, but finding a veterinarian that treats reptiles can be hard and costly if your small
creature becomes ill. Another aspect most future pet owners do not consider is the life span of
the pet you want. A cockatoo may seem to fit your life style but will you be able to maintain the
care for a creature who lives as long as you do or would a rat with a general life span of three
years be suitable? This will also avoid an upsetting experience if your animal doesn't live long or
having to give up your companion due to living situation changes. Aside from cost and life span, it
is very important that you check your local laws and with your landlord to avoid having to relinquish
the companion due to conflicts

My Favorite Dog Essay
Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them,
and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get
them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best
for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4–years–old, I have been around
dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were
young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldog
from my Dad's friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy most of
the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She would
always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be better
for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be
better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less
expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want
to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would
love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but
an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, "typically you can expect
the cost to average around $1500–$4000"

Even though I call myself a dogaholic, I love all animals big and small!
There is one other fact of life that cannot be ignored. The emotional earthquake of grief when your
beloved pet transitions from their physical body. Many people feel the same intense feelings of loss
and physical separation irrespective of whether it is a human being or non–human being. It’s
irrelevant whether the pet is four legged, two legged, furry or feathered. Grief is grief, loss is loss.
The feelings are the same, the challenges are no less.
The manifestation of the grief process is different for everyone, but the root cause is the same.
It’s not something you learn in textbooks, but the actual experience catapults you to a totally
different dimension of your inner being that perhaps you never knew existed. There are people who
chose not to deal with the grieving process and consciously

A Day With My Dog
It is easy to identity that when we have animals in our life, our daily routine without a doubt,
transforms. However, how often do we look back on the time spent with our pets and take a look
and realize all the ways owning an animal can change our perspective on life. Not only can our
animals change the way we look at things, but can make us into better people. There is an
understanding to why I think my dog, Molly has truly transformed who I am into an exceptional
human being. Molly represents me because she is an example of how much I have changed for
the better, and ended up exactly where I want to be. The picture is myself and my dog Molly and I
at my grade twelve graduation, after one year of having her four legs, wet nose, long tail and endless
amount of affection come into my life. I honestly cannot even imagine my life without my dog. Life
before her was a complete mess. I fought with my parents on a regular basis on how irresponsible I
was, I was not physically active, I was always out partying and I was selfish. On an evening in
October of 2014 I received pictures from a friend who had a six week old puppy available whom I
instantly fell in love with. The moment I confirmed that I was going to officially adopt Molly, I
instantly thought I did not know what I got myself into. In order to properly train a puppy, you
need to have lots of patience, responsibility, and most importantly; you need to be able to let go of
your own selfishness. As a young puppy

My Favorite Pet Essay

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About A Pet To many, a pet is more than just an animal that lives in the same house as them. A pet is more than a nuisance with fur that one has to feed and care for. To many, a pet is another family member. A pet is a constant companion that is there to play, cuddle, and bring one joy. Most people remember their first pet. They remember how their pet was always there to comfort them when their own world seemed to be falling apart. Sadly, one also remembers when their first pet died. How when they left you, they also left a gaping hole in your heart that remained hollow ever since. Many of my earliest memories are filled with images of putting cats into doll dresses or playing with them at every possible second. In the fall of 2013, it had been nearly a year since we had owned a cat, and my siblings and I yearned for such a companion. We searched for one for what felt like an eternity. After weeks of searching, a friend told us that she had akitten on the farm that would die if he remained there over winter. As soon as we saw a photo of the kitten, we eagerly agreed to take him off their shoulders. When he finally arrived to us, we instantly fell in love. He had beautiful black fur with paws as white as snow. We admired his white patch on his face that had an uneven black spot on it. Finally, after debating about a name for days, we decided on the name Jack. Jack adjusted to life with us quickly. As the years flew by, he morphed into my favorite shoulder to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Well if you have ever had a pet, well then you will know why pets can make you happy when you are sad or be with you in the worst times. Greeting "Good Morning Teachers, Judges, and Fellow students. Topic Sentence Topic...show more content... Topic Sentence The final reason why it is beneficial to have pets is for learning. Pets can teach kids things will probably need to know when they grow up. Here is why pets are beneficial for learning purposes. Supporting Detail #1 First, Pets can teach responsibility which is a very important life skill. To care for apet you must feed it, give it exercise, give it affection, and much more. This teaches responsibilty because it shows kids that they need to make time in their day to feed their pet, to play with it, and to walk it. When kids who own pets grow up they will most likely be very responsible because of the valuable lessons taught in their childhood when they had that pet. Supporting Detail #2 Next, Pets can actually teach kids respect. This is because children must be respectful to their pets in order to make them happy and in order for them to like the child. For example, Children must not disturb their pets when they are eating or sleeping, and they must be gentle when they are petting /touching their pet. If children respect there pets they will most likely respect people too. That is why pets are great for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Keeping A Pet Pets are loved by everyone for many reasons; no matter what breed of animal you own, they can bring happiness to your lives. However, when you are thinking of getting a pet for the first time, whether it is as a new addition to your current family of pets or a replacement for one that sadly is no longer amongst you, there is a lot to consider when keeping a pet. People have pets for various reasons, whether given as a present or perhaps the children are interested in having their first pets; or you were unable to have a pet as a child but are in more suitable circumstances or simply because you and they share a love for animals, the notion to need and want a pet is deep–rooted in our psyche. This is perhaps not surprising considering pets act ...show more content... • 4. Descriptive Essay About My Dog Vincenzio Olson Presswood Accelerated English I looked at my dog and made eye contact with his large brown eyes. Time seemed to slow down as I read his eyes like an open book. I still remember the look today, while I was laying on the couch next to him. It was the most terrifying sight I've ever seen. My dog, my best friend, and the only thing to trust me with everything calmly could show that he had accepted death. For me though he was still could wagging his tail for us. The night I saw this was October 22nd at 8:02 PM. This dog changed my entire perspective on life. He was a dog that could instantly make a room bloom as a flower would, but with joy. He loved life and those around him and that caused us to love him so much. I used to...show more content... I was thinking about how Journey must feel. Journey had a cancerous tumor the size of a baseball in him. It was in a horrible spot, right on where is small intestine meets his large intestine. My dog would need to be out down or else he would starve to death. After I finished eating and cleared my place, I pulled out Journey's dish. Everyday I tried to feel him a little of something to eat but the only thing it seemed he could keep down was broth. Plain, smelly, brown, beef broth. Today, he only ate a little barely two spoonfuls and nothing else. Journey was too sick to eat. I remember a week or so earlier when my mom came home after bringing Journey home from the vet. There were so many tears that day. She told me that Journey had a tumor where his large and small intestine met. The tumor was baseball sized and because of its size, was blocking part of his digestive system. Basically, Journey was going to starve to death if we didn't put him down. The shards of memory from that day rushed back to me as Journey refused to eat anymore. "Come on big guy!" I said as I ushered Journey upstairs. As he struggled to get up the stairs onto his designated spot, it scared me that he went from being an energetic, hyper dog into this.I didn't know how to feel, I just felt like a shell, empty, emotionless, lost on an island where I've never been, alone. I had not the slightest idea what to do and that gave me a sense of hopelessness. I sat down, next to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Descriptive Essay About Losing A Pet Among the saddest truths about this lifetime is this: A dog's life is significantly shorter than a human's life. I said goodbye to my beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Samson, on March 26th, 2017. He was ten years old. It is an opinion to say that losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. The fact is, though, it is an understatement. Dogs are unique in their own ways. As it is said, "Grief is the price you pay for love." And I paid a heavy priced that day. It is unbelievable how we take things for granted. Plans are made for each day, and we do not think twice about those plans. Unfortunately, they can change in the blink of an eye. I never personally thought much about it, until I was faced with the shock and tragedy of the death...show more content... Pam Brown once said, "If there is a heaven, it is certain our animals are to be there. Their lives become so interwoven with our own than an archangel to detangle them (Brown,n.d.)." He is now buried in our backyard with his own stone with the words, "You may have left my life, but you will never leave my heart" engraved. We received many sympathy cards, but it did not make the situation any better. However, it was nice to know my friends and family cared. It was the saddest time in my life. Not a day goes by that I do not think about him. It is very tough to not break down when I think or talk about him. He was a special boy. For the longest time, there was a void feeling in my house. A hole was left in my family's hearts. I knew Samson would have wanted me to give his doggie bed and squeak toys to another deserving dog. He had a wet nose and a huge heart. Once, in the first week following his passing, I came through my front door and looked at the area where he would usually be sitting or lying. I called for him with the foolish notation that he would appear and come running to me. But of course, he did not. Then, I walked past his empty food bowls and tears started running down my face. It was a shattering reminder that he was gone and never coming back. Grief was exhausting and painful to say the least. The day after Samson died, I could not drag myself out of bed. I missed school that day. I could not bear the feeling of coming home, and him not waiting for me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About Animals JADE My entire life I've always held a special place in my heart for animals. There's just something about them that makes my usual cold stone exterior melt. Through the course of my life I've owned several different kinds of pets, majority of which were given away. After owning all these animals I can say without a doubt I am definitively a cat person. Each time I've lost an animal it hurt considerably but none of which hurt as much as when I had to give up my cat Jade. Adopting Jade was a very pivotal point in my life. I had been begging for a pet for months, I'm talking on my knees pleading with tears in my eyes. I was looking for something to fill the domestic animal sized void in my heart that was made when they gave my dog Pierce away because he was "too high maintenance". I was also just thinking about how great it had been owning our first cat Boots who they gave away because he wasn't very nice to any member of our family but me. Finally I wore my aunt down enough to where she agreed to take me to the animal shelter to "look and see". I had never been in an animal shelter before so I had no idea what to expect when we arrived. It was a reasonably sized building, kind of reminding of a daycare center for little kids. Literally every dog in the building started barking when we walked in and honestly it broke my heart that so many of them were without homes. One of the people who worked there showed us to the first room on our right, one of the rooms Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Dog : I Love My Pet Dog Just like any normal sixth grader, I loved my pet dog. My dog's name was, Blanco, (which is Spanish for "white"). I always knew that my dear canine companion would eventually pass away, but I couldn't believe it when the day came. There was the experience of going outside only to see my dead friend, hearing what my family had to say, and the sympathy and empathy I received from peers and teachers at school. The one thing I learned from the experience itself, was that nothing lasts forever. It was a Sunday, and I remember my family and I went to church, like usual. I remember after communion I prayed longer than anyone else in my family because we all knew Blanco was reaching the end of his life. Unlike a lot of other dogs that lived up to the age of thirteen, Blanco didn't go blind or act much different at all. I remember asking God, "Just a little longer, please.", over and over again, but I knew it would be any day now. After the service was over, we drove back home. Since it was Sunday, we were having family over. We usually always just meet up at my grandparents, but I'm almost certain that my parents offered to host this particular Sunday, for the very reason of my dog. My grandparents, aunt, uncle, and their two daughters showed up. I remember their son, my oldest cousin was somewhere out in the Bahamas for school, so he was out of the picture. It wasn't long after they showed up that I went outside to see my dog, Blanco, lying in my backyard, not Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. My Favorite Animals Essay When I was eight, I promised myself that I would never go back to a zoo in my life. It's not that a dislike animals, in the contrary, I've always liked animals from a very young age. When I was young, I would turn on the TV and go on Animal Planet. I would immediately be amazed by how much freedom animals had. Unlike humans, animals don't follow agendas. Instead, they are free to do what they want, which is what I liked the most about animals. This is due to the reason that they looked as if they would continue on until reaching the end of the world, for it seemed that nothing was holding them back. However, my encounter with exotic animals was just a series of disappointments. As I started elementary school, I heard that my school contained a pair of monkeys that were displayed to the public. Instantly, an uncontrollable excitement appeared because it would have been my first time seeing monkeys with my own eyes. I expected monkeys playing and climbing trees. However, the excitement soon turned into disappointment. The view was repulsing, the pair of monkeys were sitting on the farthest corner of a cage that was no bigger than a closet, just sitting there doing nothing with clear fear in their faces. I don't even remember seeing them move except during recess. During recess, children would yell and throw objects at them, with the idea that it will cause the pair of monkeys to move and entertain them. Evidently, this would cause the monkeys to climb and run around their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Love For Animals Throughout most of my life I have had one consistent goal; to become a veterinarian. I have had a continuous and solid passion for animals in all respects. This passion and love has fueled my in striving to achieve the dreams I have for myself after high school. The beginning of this story begins long before high school though. The descent into the most challenging times of my life began when I was in fourth grade. Not a lot of people can say they have hit rock bottom at age nine, but I did and did not go upward for just over three years. During those years I took every chance I got to escape a house that caused me so much pain; my favorite escape was to play with an animal, whether it be one of my neighbors' or best friends'. I was able to cope during these years because interacting with animals could always lift my spirits. Years went by, things got better, and my love for animals grew. When I was fourteen I persuaded my parents to let me get a bearded dragon, who I named Sammy. Sammy changed everything and three years later I still have and love him. However, keeping him healthy has not been the easiest. Sammy does not have a strong immune system; I cannot count the number of times I sat with him, fed him from a syringe, and bathed him in warm water for hours because he was so sick. I would take him from his tank and lay with him under the covers when the power or heat lamps went out. While this may seem like a herculean task to some, it was common sense to me because Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Animal Essay : My Favorite Animal Is The Tiger My favorite animal is the tiger. I love to go to the zoo and see them, but some people go even farther than a simple visit to their local zoo. Many people are starting to keep these animals as pets. The house next store to you might be hiding a bear or a wolf. These fearless owners claim to love their unusual pets more than anything, and they say that they will do anything for them. Yet, there is still an ongoing debate on whether or not is right to keep these wild animals as pets, and how much government regulation is needed. The amount of exotic pets in the united states may surprise you. Rainsford states in his article "that about 15,000 non–human primates, such as monkeys, are liling in people's homes...(and) there about the same number of big cats, like lions and tigers." (Page 17) However, there are many more that are not included in this count due the pets not having to be registered in some states and people breaking the laws in others. Either way both paths lead to united states not knowing how many wild animals are in the country. By now, you are probably wondering what exactly is an exotic pet. Slater states in her article that " The term exotic pet has no firm definition; it can refer to any wildlife kept in human households –– or simply to a pet that's more unusual than the standard dog or cat."(Page 99) Therefore, if you think about almost any animal could be called an exotic pet. Something does not have to be from some far off land to be exotic, it just simply needs to be a little more than average. Still, this doesn't stop people from get the most extravagant or crazy pets as possible. Rainsford interviewed one owner who owns " a 2,000–pound bison named Bailey." (Page 17) Where would you even get a 2,000–pound bison you ask. The internet, where else? You might think that it would be super hard to buy an animal like a tiger, but according to Rainsford you can simple go on the internet and buy one cute baby tiger for the low price of three hundred dollars. Slater points out how this affects species of this animal. She talks about how people see that these animals are dying out in their natural habitat and decides to bring them home in an effort to preserve their species. I was still waiting for my mom in the hot car but with a side window barely open so that i could breath, ten minutes past i couldn't do it anymore so i opened the door and choked on the air to gasp in i finally got my air back and so i went inside the house and asked are you Coming!!! • 13. Descriptive Essay On My Pet Dog My Pet Lola My pet dog, Lola is a very interesting dog. We really don't know much about her, but we still love her and take care of her. Our Lola is a rescued dog from the Romney Sport's Park. An old couple found her under a car while my class was at the park because it was the last week of school, and we went for all the things we have done in that grade. My mom came with us to watch and supervise, when she found her on a leash by an old man. My mom wanted to know if we could keep her if we came by later and he agreed that we could take her. It was that day on June 2, 2015 when we accepted her into the family! She has been a great addition to the family. The veterinarian told us that she was about 2 to 3 years old at the time. Lola Lu is a...show more content... The cool thing about her is that she is a schnauzer without the cut and average schnauzer. Her legs are longer than the average schnauzer. They measure an exact 1 foot at the inch. We all found out not too long ago that she likes to cuddle and hug you in the person who is holding her. She will not mind, but she does not like it when you shut her mouth. Lola will squirm and will want to leave you at that exact instant. A couple tricks we taught her are to sit and to go to her room when it is bedtime or when we have to leave the house. She is still not trained to go pee on a piddle pad, but that is a problem with all of our dogs, just as it is with pooing on the piddle pad. Lola loves to play with people, but she really loves to play with our 1 year old French bulldog Oliver. The 2 of them will chase each other around the house playing with each other for hours. When they get tired, they like to sleep in a pouf together and will lay there for more hours than they ran around. Then it will just Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. My Favorite Pet Essay My bunny is soft as a pillow. Her name is Luna, and she's my favorite bunny in the world. She's also so cuddly and cute. Most importantly, she's one of my top favorite things i like about myself. However, there are a lot of things i would like to share about myself. I would like to share the top three things I like about myself the most. Which are my favorite pets, favorite things I like to do outdoors/ indoors, and I love to help my friends, family and last animals. My favorite pets allow me to pick them up and cuddle them, unlike other pets I use to have. My pet Luna is so soft and cuddly. She is black with a little brown on her. She has brown eyes and loves to be petted; especially, behind her ears. I got her from my friend Cate Linder. When I pick her up and there is a dog around, she starts kicking and scratching. That is telling me to put her back in her cage. Also, when I leave the door open she never gets out; unless, I put her harness on and we go on a walk. Luna is the best out of all the other rabbits I use to have because the other ones never let me pet them. When the cage door is open they always jump out and run away. When I try to pick them up, they always try to bite me and scratch me. Also, I have a pet dog named Zurie. She is white, black, and has a little black on her. She loves her belly rubs and will do whatever it takes just to get one. She does tricks for us and will bring a ball so we can play together. She always chases bikes and motorcycles. • 16. Cats Make the Perfect Pet Lisa Martin English 1101 Essay #4 Cats make the perfect pet I have heard the old saying that dogs are man's best friend. I don't know much about dogs, but I do know a lot about cats. I have had a cat as a pet for at least 30 years. They are wonderful and I know I will always have one in my life. I think cats make the perfect pet because they are self sufficient, intelligent, and good companions. The first reason I think that cats make the perfect pet is because they are self sufficient. Cats can take care of themselves. When we take cats into our homes as pets, they don't require much attention. Another good example of why cats are self sufficient is because they are clean animals and they bathe themselves quite...show more content... Cats also make good companions because they like to curl up next to us for a good long nap, and there is no better sleeping partner than a cat. Cats don't care what we look like, they don't expect anything in return, and they will always keep our feet warm! Another example of why a cat makes a good companion is because at the end of the day they will not come running up to us at the door and lick us to death like a dog. They are just glad to see us. A meow and a flip of the tail is all that is needed to say hello. One more reason cats make good companions is because they can live long lives. If they are taken care of properly it is not uncommon for them to live into their teens or twenties. Also cats are good companions because they are soft and cuddly and easy to love. When looking for a good companion, a cat will make a wonderful choice and a lifelong friend. My love for cats goes back a long time. In a few years I will probably become the crazy cat lady. Cats are independent and self sufficient. They are very intelligent animals and they make good companions. I think these things make the cat a perfect Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Benefits of Pets Essay Pets can be very both physically and emotionally beneficial to their owners. Living with and caring for them can also be a great experience and very entertaining. Even browsing YouTube, thousands of pet owners record their little friend's amusing tricks and humorous incidents to share with the world. Although these videos or pictures can encourage your desire for a similar companion, many details to keeping an animal of that sort may not be evident. There is a huge variety of species available, from tarantulas to munchkin cats, with many ways to obtain them, but not everyone can handle a giant arachnid or endure changing kitty litter. Even with the wide ranging selection, it is imperative to know how to choose a pet that suits you....show more content... Discussing questions related to a certain species with experienced owners will give you more of an insight as to what the animal requires and sometimes discover issues you haven't considered. Secondly, make sure you are able to provide adequate care for the animal you are thinking of giving a home to. Sufficient housing is vital but another aspect of providing an adequate home is how much it generally costs to own a certain pet. If you are considering a dog or cat, they tend to be more costly than most pets due to amount of food needed, vaccinations, veterinary bills, boarding, spaying/neutering etc... A snake or gecko are a bit more simple depending on the specific species, but finding a veterinarian that treats reptiles can be hard and costly if your small creature becomes ill. Another aspect most future pet owners do not consider is the life span of the pet you want. A cockatoo may seem to fit your life style but will you be able to maintain the care for a creature who lives as long as you do or would a rat with a general life span of three years be suitable? This will also avoid an upsetting experience if your animal doesn't live long or having to give up your companion due to living situation changes. Aside from cost and life span, it is very important that you check your local laws and with your landlord to avoid having to relinquish the companion due to conflicts Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Favorite Dog Essay Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them, and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4–years–old, I have been around dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldog from my Dad's friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be better for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, "typically you can expect the cost to average around $1500–$4000" Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. I Love My Pet Animals Sharing our lives, opening our hearts to pure unconditional love. They are the best friends that we can ever have. They won’t let us down, they are always happy to see us, they don’t judge us in any form, they don’t look at us with utter disdain if we put on weight. They trust us implicitly, with a wag of a tail or the twitch of a whisker telling us that they intuitively know how we feel. The look in their eyes says it all – I love you. Our companion animals, our pets. We, as humans think that we have chosen our pets, in many situations it seems as if we have. However, many times on a higher level of awareness, they have chosen us. How many times do you see people that look like their dogs or is it that their dogs look like them! The feline fellowship and affinity that comes from the cats that slink into our lives helps us attune to life. All animals,...show more content... Even though I call myself a dogaholic, I love all animals big and small! There is one other fact of life that cannot be ignored. The emotional earthquake of grief when your beloved pet transitions from their physical body. It’s irrelevant whether the pet is four legged, two legged, furry or feathered. Grief is grief, loss is loss. The feelings are the same, the challenges are no less. The manifestation of the grief process is different for everyone, but the root cause is the same. It’s not something you learn in textbooks, but the actual experience catapults you to a totally different dimension of your inner being that perhaps you never knew existed. • 20. A Day With My Dog It is easy to identity that when we have animals in our life, our daily routine without a doubt, transforms. However, how often do we look back on the time spent with our pets and take a look and realize all the ways owning an animal can change our perspective on life. Not only can our animals change the way we look at things, but can make us into better people. There is an understanding to why I think my dog, Molly has truly transformed who I am into an exceptional human being. Molly represents me because she is an example of how much I have changed for the better, and ended up exactly where I want to be. The picture is myself and my dog Molly and I at my grade twelve graduation, after one year of having her four legs, wet nose, long tail and endless amount of affection come into my life. I honestly cannot even imagine my life without my dog. Life before her was a complete mess. I fought with my parents on a regular basis on how irresponsible I was, I was not physically active, I was always out partying and I was selfish. On an evening in October of 2014 I received pictures from a friend who had a six week old puppy available whom I instantly fell in love with. The moment I confirmed that I was going to officially adopt Molly, I instantly thought I did not know what I got myself into. In order to properly train a puppy, you need to have lots of patience, responsibility, and most importantly; you need to be able to let go of your own selfishness.
