Reverend Hale came to Salem hoping to prove himself as a witch expert, but began to doubt as he questioned innocent people like John and Elizabeth Proctor who showed no signs of witchcraft. When questioning locals, they also insisted that the accused were good people. Hale started to realize that innocent people had been hanged with no solid evidence beyond accusations. The narrator's sister discovered the tooth fairy was not real when she woke up and saw their father trading a tooth for money in an attempt to keep up the ruse, sealing her disillusionment.

Reverend Hale became so disillusioned that he was a witch expert who was helping cleanse Salem
of witchcraft. He came into the play with high hopes that he would be able to prove his abilities and
to show what he can do and being all stuck up about himself. Without knowingly that he was the one
who aided in the innocent people that were hanged and trialed for something that could not even be
proven with evident but with just by the word of others. When he was going around Salem asking
people questions of what they thought about the witch trials and other things possibly he was
beginning the doubt since the people had said that certain people were good puritans and they saw

I was already asleep like a sack of potatoes so there was no way for me to be able to wake up that
night since it was a very busy day at school that day and of us going out for a softball game. So
apparently in the middle of the night when my sister was I were in bed our father came in and
started to trade out the tooth for the money. He wasn't careful enough which woke up my sister,
even though then she wanted to keep quiet and let dad do what he was going to do posing as the
tooth fairy. During the time I still believed in the Tooth Fairy and all that stuff but my sister was
starting to realize that it was not real. So when she woke up it sealed the fact that the tooth fairy
wasn't real for her even though she kept it a good secret from me since I was a little slow to
realize that stuff, even though she did tell me about it years later after I realized that the tooth fairy
was not real. So that is the story of how my disillusioned sister discovered the tooth fairy was not
