2. Here is my front cover of my school based magazine, As you can see I have gone with the schools colours of blue and white mainly, but put the main headings in a bold orange colour to make it stand out more and to show that this is one of the main features of the front cover of this magazine. I have positioned the models in the library of the school holding a book, This gives across an educational vibe and makes the school look as if they really do care about the education of the children. Having both of the models smiling towards the camera gives a posed look but also gives across a happy sense to the picture, meaning if people look at this magazine they’ll feel like it is a friendly school which they may want to send their children too. On the magazine I have added that it specialises in maths and ict so that they know what the main subjects are of this school if they are wanting their children/wanting to study these particular subjects. I kept the lighting normal, putting them near the window so they got a little bit of light towards their face to give them a natural glow, I had to edit the models glasses to get the flash reflection out of them, this improved my Photoshop skills and helped me learn new features to Photoshop. For the title of the magazine I did it in a bold white colour on a blue background with the effects of drop shadow, inner shadow and stroke to make the grey effect and make it stand out more from the rest of the magazine, This helped improve my Photoshop skills with text and I went on to use this with my music magazine.
3. This is the contents page of my school based magazine, As you can see with the contents page I used the same colours and effects as the front cover so it keeps them matching and looking like the same magazine like they should do. I added the school logo into the corner to put across more about the school so people know that this is the school logo and know which school we are particularly on about. With the pictures of the contents page I took them all myself, this improved my camera skills as it helped me take more professional photos which I then later took these skills onto my music magazine. I went around the school and found places which would relate to my magazine, such as picture 3 I took a picture of a class playing badminton, This will relate to the success of the school when it comes to sports and shows they are a healthy school which feels highly about exercise for their students. With the numbering of the contents page I used the same effect as the title, this does not take away from the title but it gives more decoration to the contents page and makes the little things stand out a little bit more, I related some of the pages to pictures at the side so it gave more of an understanding to the readers about what they could expect to see on this page, I feel this would attract the audience a lot more and will gives them more interest in the pages. On the bottom of the page I added a picture of 6thform students happy and content, this will give a look of happiness to the school. Also with this picture, the background was of the school which I removed so that they was just put onto the natural background of my magazine, This improved my cutting and blending skills on Photoshop which then I could take out to help me with my music magazine, I used the blur and magnetic tool for this particular action.
