2. These are the images I didn’t use, I did not use them as the main
model is not looking towards the camera and lighting is dark.
Furthermore within image 1 there is a large amount of un filled space
in the bottom section of the image.
I do not like image 2 as the main models body isn't positioned correctly
which effects the composition of the photo.

3. Within these images I added lights, which were too bright and the
composition of the images are not strong . Within image 2 the
male models are talking to each other, I prefer the images when
the male models are working as it creates a better overall image.

4. PLAN
As you can see I altered
my image altogether,
originally I was going to
have a 6Form student
with a younger lower
year group student being
helped by the Sixth
Former. However I
changed my cover image
so it was more relatable
for all Sixth form students
by having a number of
older models upon my
front cover working
together.
7. PHOTOSHOP
PROCESSFirst I added a mast head choosing the correct font to create the
appropriate effect, I added colour to the text by selecting the
blue from my original image onto my text so the use of colours
flow again with logo. I decreased the opacity of the logo, to
show my photo shop skills and to become more formal and
grown up for the oldest secondary students.
8. Next, I added a banner with 3 key words, again using the
same selected blue tone. These words are Success, Studios
and Salt with all begin with the letter ‘S’ which ties in with the
Masthead. I also edited the original image by altering the
exposure and contrast levels.

9. Once adding my text I edited them by using the drop
shadow tools and contour tools to add depth to my
cover page. Lastly I added the issue number and
date, I kept the colour scheme light and vibrant so it
was aesthetically pleasing for my target audience.

10. FINAL EDITED COVER
This is my final school based magazine
cover product. It has key school based
genre elements for example the mise
en scene includes posters of films,
tables and chairs indicate a clear
classroom setting. It is clear that the
subject is media, and is a class of older
sixth form students due to the student
lanyard and non school uniform. I like
how the magazine is bright and has
minimal text, when I did my research
school magazines had little or no text
on the cover’s implying that the image
was the most important aspect of the
cover. Furthermore the composition of
the image is strong I like how the 2
male students in the background
create a ‘V’ in-between them with the
media posters. Every part of the image
is not blank for example the bottom of
the image has a folder and school work
which gives the connotation the
student is working hard.
