lateral transport. Each of these mechanisms contribute to the transportation of masses of water, and therefore dissolved ACO2, around the Southern

amines are used industrially and while they are quite effective, they are costly, toxic, are not very recyclable, and degrade quickly. The novel use of a
polymer as a material for this purpose could solve many of these issues.

atmospheric CO2. C4 plants show little response to elevated CO2. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) plants also showed an increase in
photosynthetic rate. The increasing concentration of CO2 by burning of fossil fuels can be reduced by improving the carbon fixation in the plants.
Short–term exposure of CO2 on plants shows increased photosynthesis, whereas long–term exposure shows variation in photosynthesis and also plant

Purpose
The volume of carbon dioxide gas produced from a reaction was measured in order to determine what carbonate sample was used. A gas assembly
apparatus was used to capture the gas from a reaction between an unknown carbonate and 6M hydrochloric acid; three trials were performed. The mass
of the unknown carbonate was determined, and the reaction occurred in a test tube. The volume of gas produced by the reaction was measured, and the
partial pressure of carbon dioxide was calculated after the partial pressure of water vapor was determined using Dalton's Law of Partial Pressures. The
percent mass of carbon dioxide gas was then calculated, and the average mass percent was compared to the table of known carbonates. It was concluded
that the unknown carbonate sample used in the reaction was magnesium carbonate.

the environment was devastation killing many sea organisms and birds. And the effects did not go away after the oil did. Many organisms became

This examines the hazards, the production, and a potential solution to the looming problem of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. COв‚‚, or carbon
dioxide, is a greenhouse gas that plays a significant role in global warming. Power generation (see Figures 1 and 2) and manufacturing industries
contribute to the production of carbon dioxide. Finally an effective climate change plan should integrate emission cuts and CCS. Releasing CO2 in the
atmosphere is harmful to the environment in several ways. The combustion of fossil fuels releases new COв‚‚ in the atmosphere. Fossil fuels are made
of hydrocarbons. When burned, these substances "change form and enter the atmosphere as carbon based gases". The EPA concludes that 90% of
carbon gases released into the atmosphere are from the combustion of fossil fuels. So, industrial combustion is the primary culprit of such COв‚‚
production (West, 2009).
Consequentially, such carbon based gases "pollute the air near the earth's surface", create smog, and increase the amounts of atmospheric greenhouse
gases which contribute to global warming as diagrammed in Figure 1 (West, 2009). Coal, for instance, does not always burn cleanly as it often
