My Family Has A Big Influence On The Language
Family ties My family has a big influence on the language I use when I am with them, and even
when I am not. If I do say so myself my family is rather very funny and we all just have a really
great since of humor. A lot of the time we are just joking around or poking fun at one another, in a
loving way of course. The relationship I have with my siblings is very important to me that
relationship has really helped shape my everyday language. Most of the words or phrase I use in the
family setting are from television shows, movies, or just things someone in my house has said
before that is now constantly reoccurring.
"Hey Assbutt!!" ("Swan Song")
My sister and I really love television, and binge watching shows together. I lot of the time we hear
things that just really stick with us, and we can not help but incorporate them into our daily lives.
"Hey assbutt" is from the show supernatural, Castel a fallen angel says this to a demon right before
he kills him to save Dean Winchester. In the show they make fun of Castel for saying this, which
makes it all the more funny. I use this when I am greeting my sister sometimes or in a situation were
I need her attention. An example sentence would be something like, "Hey assbutt get down here!"
When I say this in a setting that is not around my sister people usually do not understand, and some
even seem offended, so I typically keep this term between my sister and I.
"Then why don't you sell me and buy a rabbit instead?" (Lilo and

Creative Writing: Mere, Pere
"Mere, Pere what will we do?" I asked. The French Revolution was going on, and many had died.
"Danielle, there is no need to worry. We are safe here." Mere patted my shoulder. Pere nodded and
turned to Mere. "I'll need to leave to go get food," Pere said to Mere. "Be careful." She waved as
Pere exited the house. She turned to me and walked over. "Get your box." My box was a Limoges
Box, which Pere gave me when I was 5 years of age. I ran to my room and picked up the red box. It
felt cool to the touch. As I was just about to leave, my little sister, Agathe, peeked into my room.
"Sister, where are you going with your box?" She inquired eagerly. "Mere wanted me to grab it." I
quickly ran past Agathe and handed the box to Mere. "Why did you need ... Show more content on

I put my box on my side table and dash to the kitchen. I grabbed some crepes and quickly finished
them. "I have been called to war," Pere announced. "But Pere," Agathe said with tears forming in her
eyes, and I knew she knew what that word meant, "I don't want you to go." "You don't need to
worry, Agathe," Mere massaged Agathe's back, "Pere will say safe." I went back to my room and put
my apron on. Grabbing my sewing kit, I sat down. I notesting that Agathe's doll had a small hole, I
picked it up. I rummaged through my scrap fabric, I found a piece that matched. Agathe walked in.
"What are you doing with my doll!" She yelled. "It had a hole, I'm patching up." She sat down
beside me and watched me stitch the doll back up. "Thanks sister!" She beamed. She looked down at
her doll. "Can you teach me how to do that?" "Um, sure." I gave her a needle, thread, and fabric. We
spent the rest of the day sewing and stitching. It was the next evening when we received the news.
"Pere... has died," Mere hung her head. Agathe started to wail. "I want Pere," she cried, tears
streaming down her cheeks. Mere handed me the necklace Pere bought Mere years ago. I knew what
she meant. I dashed to my Limoges Box and put the necklace in it. "I'll miss you

Building A Bear Workshop, Inc.
Build–A–Bear Workshop, Inc. is the first leading and largest global company that offers an
interactive make–your–own teddy bears and other stuffed animals. This company is a true
innovation in the retail industry. "Innovation is not a one–time event, but a process that must be
continuously managed, measured and carried out in all a company's products, services and business
functions" (Knowledge Wharton). Innovation can also mean developing and improving the next new
technologies. The key point of this can lead to an increase in businesses' success, better productivity
and performance. Innovation is strategic because we get to create new importance at the intersection
with a combination of business model and technology. Many successful companies implement new,
creative ideas, essentially critical for business strategy and the strategic vision. "Both innovations go
together and have to be thought and implemented as a whole." (Knowledge Wharton) There are
significant steps to approach towards innovation. Strategic leadership consists of training and
empowering business employees to implement strategic actions from the top down. Motivational
and influential leadership establish innovation in businesses. There are six levers for change in both
the business model and technology innovation. Three levers for change in business model
innovation are value proposition, supply chain, and target customers. "Value proposition of the
product or service is basically what is sold and

How A Quilt Helps Your Body And Comfort The Soul
Have you ever pricked yourself while sewing a big bulky quilt by putting the pieces together? Yes, it
may have happened quite a few times while you were in the middle of the process. A quilt can warm
the body and comfort the soul. It is a warm bed covering made of padding enclosed between layers
of fabric and kept in place by lines of stitching, made to comfort and warm people's body when they
are a little chilly. Sewing is important because without the stitching, the fabrics wouldn't be held in
place correctly. Quilting can be also a big challenge because it is time consuming, but it would all be
worth it because a quilt can last forever and also hold memories for a lifetime. There are many
important aspects to quilting and sewing, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wealthy people of that time were the only ones that could afford the expensive fabric that was
imported. The quilts displayed the fine needle work of the maker. During the 1800s in many parts of
the country, before a young woman got married and had a family, she would have to make a baker's
dozen of quilt tops. The engagement quilt collection had to consist of 12 utility quilts, undoubtedly
pieces and one great quilt for her bridal bed. After the engagement, she would make the last step to
turn her tops into finished quilts. In the early 1990's, once again became a popular hobby for many
people. Quilting became popular because back then people loved the quilting process and how the
quilts turned out to be. Some of the handwork involved in quilting was actually a relaxation for
pioneer woman. It was also a relief from the drudgery and family life on the frontier. Fine handwork
was a source of pride and status. During the time of the Great Depression, people were too poor, or
so broke that they couldn't afford to buy blankets, so mostly everyone relied on women's handy
skills and resources to make blankets or quilts to keep them and their family warm in the winter
time. They used the left over pieces of material from clothing, blankets, and feed sacks and used
them for quilters when they couldn't buy anything else. Between the 1970's and the 1980's, the
granddaughters of the older women began to see their interest in quilting and sewing. In the late
1960's, it

Don 't Get Me Wrong
Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, and never plan to live without one. But isn't it weird how you can
have so many amazing experiences with dogs and only one traumatic event, and yet the bad one is
the one that stands out?
It was an ordinary fall day, October 24th, 2012. I was thrilled to spend the night at my friend's
house. After school, we got onto the bus for the 40–minute drive. Once the bus ride was over, we got
off the bus and walked up the driveway as we talked about what we were going to do that night.
With all the plans ahead of us, we decided to start out the evening by making brownies. While we
were waiting for them to bake, we went on her trampoline, hoping we wouldn't burn them.
Thankfully, they ended up tasting great! Then, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to my mom, she was at the grocery store in the checkout line when my friend 's mom
called her. Trying to act calm, my friend's mom said, "Umm... Jennah got bit by Mader and I need
you or Eric to come and pick her up!" After she was done on the phone, still waiting in line to
checkout, she told me she was whispering to herself "Please don 't let it be on her face, Please don 't
let it be on her face."
My dad came to pick me up and took me back home, by this time, my mom was back from the store.
They set me on the counter with the used to be white washcloth, my aching lip, and me crying. I
don't know why we had to stop home but we did. We all got in the car, with me still balling my eyes
out. my mom was silent and my dad was on the phone with the hospital talking to the plastic
surgeon. I just remember having a million questions. Who is he talking to? What are they talking
about? Is it really bad? Am I gonna need surgery? How long is this gonna take?
Considering that my dad is a surgeon, he realized that the bloody wound was in need of immediate
attention. Soon, me and my worried and concerned parents were at the Emergency Room at St.
Joseph's Hospital. They put me in a small, sterile smelling exam room. I think it was here that it all
hit me. I worried that from now on I will always be scared of dogs. I worried that my face would
look weird. I worried about it hurting. I worried about what people at school would think about my
face. I

Being A Student Of The Jewish Bible And A Disciple
Being a student of the Jewish Bible and a disciple in Jesus' day was for the very few. Boys and girls
went to school and began memorizing and studying the Torah from ages 6 – 10. By the age of 10,
most children would have memorized the entire Torah the first five books of our Old Testament,
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Imagine!
At 10, formal education ended for girls and many boys. Most children began to apprentice the
family trade or learn how to manage a household. The best students though continued their
education at the next level. During their training, they would memorize the rest of the Hebrew
Scriptures, so they knew Genesis – Malachi by heart.
At 15, the best of those best students would continue to the next level of education while the rest
began to learn their family's trade. These best of the best students would go to a Rabbi and apply to
become one of his disciples. And the Rabbi would choose the best of the best of the best, ones he
thought might be able to follow him. Being a disciple involved more than "head" knowledge; they
sought to become like the Rabbi. They wanted to do what the Rabbi did.
Only the "cream of the crop" we might say, the very best of the best of the best were allowed to
become disciples –– until Jesus.

The Role Of Sociology And Its Effect On Society Essay
Sociology is an important term to understand as it explains social life, behavior, and change.
Everything that individuals, groups, companies, and even nations do shapes our world and how we
interact with others. With that in mind, there are many things that shape society and the groups
within it like culture, race, gender, family, groups and organizations, education, and the ever
changing norms that we associate with in everyday life. A lot of these norms are influenced by the
media. Television shows, movies, music, and celebrities impact individual lives every single day and
because of our interaction with other people, media can easily change our society. As it can have
such an impact, it is good to look into the sociology that is hidden in movies so we can understand
the changes that happen around us. Even though some movies are very realistic and true to the world
we live in, some are not, but this does not mean that we cannot sociologically study it. Lilo & Stitch
is one example of a movie that is not very realistic but there are many aspects in the movie that are
true to society that can be illuminated sociologically. Lilo & Stitch takes place in a small town on an
island in Hawaii where a little girl named Lilo eventually befriends an alien who she comes to name
Stitch. The movie starts out at a galactic federation headquarters in space where they are holding a
trial for Jumba, the so called evil creator of experiment 626, also known as Stitch. He explains that

Personal Narrative: My Growing Up Young
Growing up young was very rough for me. From the age of 5–12 was my roughest time period. By
the age of 8 I had given up on life and felt that I had no reason to still be living. Day by day things
got harder and harder. I was physically, emotionally, and verbally abused by my mother. She made
those 7 years the worst years of my life. From 1st to 4th grade I was forced to clean the house before
I could go to school. I had to wash, rinse, and dry the dishes, sweep and vacuum the floor, make my
sisters' and brothers' beds, pick up my pallet, dust, and take out the trash. After I finished I had to
walk around the corner to my elementary school, Alma Redwine. I was young and thought that I
was being obedient. After coming to school late for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I got in the room the nurse told me to put on the robe. After I put on the robe I lied in bed and
waited, what felt like forever, for the doctor to come stitch me up. While I was waiting I was visited
by my uncle, my pastor, and my auntie came back up to check on me. After waiting 10 minutes for
the doctor to arrive he came in the room, introduced himself, and told me to show him the part of
my arm that needed to be stitched.
First, he cleaned my arm and the wound. Then, he pushed the part of my meat that was hanging out
of my arm back in. Then, he stuck me with a needle and made my arm go completely numb. After
he stuck me with the needle, he stitched my arm up and wrapped it. Once he finished he told my
grandpa that I had to wash and rewrap my arm for the next two weeks then come back so he could
remove them. He asked me to tell him what happened so I did. After I finished telling him the story
and how I blocked the knife with my arm he was shocked. He told me that if I would have been a
split second later she would have hit me in my head and I would have died instantly. After that day
my life has never been the same. I cried myself to sleep everyday thinking about what the doctor
told me. Since that day my life has been better but sometimes I still reflect on the event and what I
was told. Whenever I do reflect on it I get sad and don't want to talk to anyone and I want

Fosh Sponsor Experience
As of this moment, I have never actually done a "Science Games," but I do have a wealth of large–
scale event planning knowledge! I was an integral member of the Science Frosh Sponsorship team,
especially when it concerned acquiring the funds and equipment for the most successful frosh of
2016. While I do not have any "new" ideas pertaining to Science Games, I have one idea that may
make the Hype Night more successful. When it comes to Power Hour, everyone enjoys being
covered in beer, but no one enjoys the clean–up afterwards –especially the staff of Cafe Campus.
Even less so if you must wade through a conglomerate concoction of beer, mixed drinks (for celiac
inclusivity, of course), wheels, sweat and pure degeneracy. A way to combat this would ... Show

Family means nobody gets left behind (or forgotten)." I came to McGill University from a high
school environment that was not particularly inclusive, but frosh taught me how to further involve
my peers to have an even better experience. Whenever one is in a group setting, it is important to
make sure everyone feels welcomed without damaging the social structure of the current group
context. In other words, it isn't right to let one person in attendance sit out and feel unwelcome, but
it is also not very fair to divert attention away from other people just to attend to the newcomer.
Inclusivity means effective integration, not special attention. I believe the best way to positively
incorporate these values would be to make the concept of inclusivity more available to the
participants. Chants and subjection to drinking are only fun if the person wants to participate in that
particular event. Inclusivity during science events is easy (especially in regards to alcohol) if
everyone recognizes the "opt–in–environment," i.e. alcohol is an opt–in activity, not one you have to
opt–out

My Family
What would you do if one day you got the chance to look in another person's life. If you want to
follow me into my loving and caring house, you will learn all about my family. You will learn what
makes us unique. You will also learn about how each member is important to me. What you find out
may surprise you or terrify you. One thing though that my family sticks by is a line from the disney
movie lilo and stitch: "Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." So
if you would like to know what it is to be in my family come and join me.
The first person I'm going to tell you about is Stacie the jokester. The reason my sister is the jokester
of the family is she always tells you jokes or awful puns that make you want to laugh no matter how
hard you try not to. I remember one time I was so upset when I lost my best friend that I was
walking through the school and to her car crying. On the way home she kept trying to get me to
smile with puns like what did the waiter say to the customer when they gave them their order,
careful it's fishy. When she got me laughing she was happy because she made me happy. Whenever I
am in a bad mood she can sense it and starts telling puns and jokes. She will also walk around in
public and tell people she meets her puns and jokes to make them happy. She also will end up
making a joke if someone starts to say something that is related to something she has heard or seen.
That is why Stacie is and always will be

Thread And Balance By Timothy Tapestry
Thread and Balance
In a small town many years ago, the Tapestry family walked to work enjoying the simple pleasures
that the morning offered. Timothy Tapestry was a tall man with blond hair and a subdued face. He
had lived in this town his whole life, and just like any other morning, he gazed happily at the hills in
the distance. Ever since he was young, Timothy had marveled at how the sun lit up those hills in the
morning, and since he was a creature of habit, he did the same today.
Past his thoughts, and in a world of her own, Adeline Tapestry walked with her husband to work.
She too enjoyed the morning, but for reasons other than its routine. Adeline had an easy smile, and

Even as they said yes, a cloud of doubt covered their hearts, because they knew full well that three
days was not enough time to make these items. However, they had already agreed to the task. So
they took the slip of paper containing the king and queen 's measurements.
"With these deadlines in mind," the king began. "We bid you farewell." He then raised his hand to
wave goodbye, and the royal parade began to leave. A mixture of joy and anxiety rushed through
Timothy and Adeline as the king and queen left. For although the Tapestrys were well known for
their quality products, it always took them a while to actually fabricate their orders. They would
have to work quickly, and precisely to overcome their time constraints.
Once the crowd had finally dispersed, the Tapestrys let themselves into their shop. It was a homey
place that told comforting stories through its exposed beams, and crackling fireplace. Immediately
they began to pull out different fabrics, and patterns trying to decide what would best suit King
Leonardo, and his wife Queen Alisha. Ideas were shared and compromises made, so that in the end
it was decided that Timothy would make the king 's coat, while Adeline would make the queen's.
While sewing, they would use different satin fabrics that had pastel colors to subtly speak of wealth,

Italian Wedding Advantages And Disadvantages
In bygone Italy, wedding event celebrations kicked off in the morning, ideally on a Sunday.
Regional Italian folklore controlled that couples need to never ever wed (or leave for their
honeymoon) on a Friday or Tuesday, or they would certainly be expecteded to have loads of
misfortune, while Saturdays were booked for widows obtaining hitched to husband second (or 3, or
four ...). Outfit: In enhancement to a white dress, the flushing bride–to–be's face would certainly be
concealed beneath a veil–– a symbol of her virginity and to shield her from rowdy spirits. The
groom hauled a sheet of iron (preferably a little one) in his pocket to ward off wicked spirits.
Activities: Italian brides and grooms made their method to the church walking. ... Show more

Movie Analysis : Lilo And Stitch
The movie Lilo and Stitch is a movie that addresses the struggle people face with feeling alone. A
heavy topic for a children's movie, and one I never really thought about all the times I have watched
it. Lilo and Stitch was the first movie I ever saw in theatres and so it holds a special place in my
heart for that reason, but I think also connected to the movie on a deeper level. The story centers
around Lilo, a 6 year old girl from Hawaii with a big imagination, who is now in the custody of her
older sister, Nani, after their parents died in a car accident. Stitch appears in the movie after Lilo
prays for a friends, so to Lilo, Stitch the rogue aline is an angel sent from heaven. By analyzing the
movie through it's characters, one can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is nothing in the movie to suggest that this is wrong or that she is overweight. Nani is a
regular woman who is put in a really hard situation. I grew up with the movie and I have watched it
so many times (likely 100 or more). It never occurred to me that Nani looked different or wrong. I
didn't even notice this was an element of the movie until I saw a post about it on Pinterest. One thing
I have been told is that 'nobody notices if something is different if what they perceive to be is
normal. ( an example most people don't day they just notice when something is different and part of
them thinks it's wrong. I grew up with this movie and never saw anything wrong with Nani, I would
argue this movie made me see a body image like Nani's to be normal and acceptable. Another major
characteristic of Nani is her continuous support of Lilo's imagination. There are so many instances
in the movie where Nani makes sure not to harm Lilo's imagination. One of the best examples is
when Nani gets fired from her Job. Nanii gets fired from her job because Stitch was being disruptive
and attacked a customer, but what she says is completely different: Lilo: Did you lose your job
because of Stitch and me? Nani: Nah. The manager 's a vampire. He wanted me to join his legion of
the undead. Lilo: I knew it! Another more subtle example happens in the first scene of the

My Day : The Story Of A Pajama Day
My head was covered with blood and I heard screaming in my ears as I fall to the ground. I was in
the first grade and tomorrow is pajama day, which I'm very excited for. I am six years old and it's
toward the end of the school year. My mom and I were in her room watching television, while my
brother was taking a shower. I was running from my mom's room to my room getting boxers and
choosing what pajamas I was going to wear tomorrow. I was running back and forth to show my
mom what I was going to wear. My mom had told me several times to stop running around the
house, but I didn't really listen to her because I was too excited. I ran to my drawer to get sports
pajama pants and a matching shirt, until I ran and hit my mom's door knob.
I started bursting into tears as I ran back and my room and started to cry tears on my bed. My mom
didn't think much of it because she thought my head was going to hurt for a little bit and then go
away. My mom walks into my room asking me what had happened. I was covering my head with
my hands and showed her my head. My mom had a shocked and scared look on her face as if she
had seen a ghost. My mom then broke down into tears. I slowly put my hands into my vision and I
see my hands covered in a dark red blood. I ran to the mirror and saw a piece of my head was
missing and I had about a dime sized hole in my head. I started to scream at the top of my lungs. My

Chikankari
Chikan (Hindi: चिकन, Urdu: ‫‬چکن‬
‎
) is a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow, India. Literally
translated, the word means embroidery. Believed to have been introduced by Nur Jehan, Mughal
emperor Jahangir's wife,[1] it is one of Lucknow's most famous textile decoration styles.
There are several theories about the origin of Chikankari. Chikankari – the process of chikan – was
basically invented in Lucknow. It developed quickly during the period when the Mughals ruled and
consisted of styles inspired by Persians. Lucknow grew into an international market for its renowned
Chikankari work. There are references to Indian Chikan work as early as 3rd century BC by

KASHMIRI COLLECTION
Kashida of Kashmir
Kashmiri embroidery is well known for the beauty of its colour, texture, design and technique.
Probably, the best–known Indian embroidery is the 'Kashida of Kashmir'. This embroidery is
revealed in shawls and in cottage industry done by the members of families in Srinagar. Kashmiri
embroidery is practiced by men and it is essentially a commercial craft. | | According to Ramala S.
Dongekery, the shawl industry in Kashmir was introduced by Zain–ul–Abedin. Akbar was also
responsible for introducing a new type of shawl – the Dowshala meaning "Twin shawl". In this two
similar shawls were woven together, then sewn back to back. So the under surface of the shawls
were not visible. Khwaja Yusuf during his stay in Kashmir got the idea of producing shawls with
help of 'Rafoogar'. These were later known as "Amli Shawls". Amli shawls were plain–woven

Personal Narrative : The Tiest Day Of My Life?
I was seven years old when it happened. At first, it felt like nothing, a bump in the knee or an
insignificant scrape. But that all changed when I looked down at my leg. I was unaware that the
events of the day would show that following your instincts is usually the way to go. It was seven
AM when I woke up and was in a rush to get to my lacrosse practice since I needed to be there
eight. Personally, I hated lacrosse. Not just the game itself but the gear. Everyone on the team had an
uncomfortable helmet, arm pads, gloves, and a heavy stick. I was still unaware that this would be
the scariest day of my life. I showed up late so the coach made me run a lap before joining the
scrimmages. We were at a park with a stone wall that surrounded the perimeter, about one and a half
feet tall. Halfway through my lap the ball I had been carrying in my stick fell out. As I went to pick
it up, I glanced over at my team because of an amazing play that had just happened. Then I hit a
rock. Shaken, I picked up the ball and began to run, noticing something was wrong. I felt the sting
of the cool wind on my knee. This made me stop and sit on the wall so that I could look my at knee.
That's when I started to cry. My knee had a gash that went down to the bone. As I looked in horror
blood surrounded a white object. I immediately thought that this was the bone. Later that day I
found out that it was. I had been sitting on the wall for a while when my coach finally ran over to
check on me. He

Fear In Disney Movies
Growing up and being the youngest of three girls means a great deal of dress up, makeovers, tea
parties, dolls, princesses, and of course, Disney. The reason I am truly fortunate to grow up in the
household I did, is that my loving parents have taught and raised me right. From how to use
manners, to modesty and responsibility, they have enforced it all. However, when I wasn't running
around with my family having a blast, I would have one of my parents throw in a Disney movie so
all of us could sit around and watch it together. Surprisingly, through all the Disney movies we ever
watched, no matter the problem, everything was always better in the end. With this, I believe that
most life lessons can be taught through Disney movies. So many ... Show more content on

Belle showed how ardent love is. At first, she was afraid of the beast, and to be honest, so was I.
However, she had determination and care in her heart, and not realizing that she would find love too
What Belle represented was a girl who never gave up and fell in love without caring about outward
appearances. I saw how beauty could be found within. Society paints a picture of how skinny you
are supposed to be, or how ravishing you need to be. It is all fake. I was shown that what makes me

Types of Merchandising
Chapter I Merchandising –Introduction, role, functions, types Mrs. Manju is on a visit to the
neighborhood store. It sells a variety of daily essentials. She asked for jam. The merchant in the
store brought it to her from the shelf at the back of the counter. She paid the bill and left the store
with the bottle of jam. We notice that the merchant sold merchandise – "jam" to Mrs. Manju. If the
jam is in the store, Mrs. Manju will not know of its existence. She is aware of it only when the
merchant showed it personally. Consider also that as the bottle of jam is on display on the shelf at
the back of the counter, when Mrs. Manju entered the store she saw it from a distance. When she

In Delhi woolens come on for display in the month of November in stores. Merchandising is finding
the right product to display at the right time and right place with right price. We considered above
merchandising situations in retail stores. But how are the products brought to the store? What do we
call the activities before they reach the store? Who buys them for the store? Where do the products
come from? What did they cost? How are they made and moved to the store location? And, finally
who prices these products? All these activities are called merchandising. If you look in the Merriam
– Webster dictionary, it tells us that the word was coined in 1932, and defines it as, "sales promotion
as a comprehensive function including market research, development of new products, coordination
of manufacture and marketing, and effective advertising and selling." Merchandising as an activity
starts with market research and ends with sale of merchandise. The chain of intermediate activities
between these forms the functions of merchandising. Some of these activities are store space – buy –
price – display – sale, while others are source – sample – cost – production – quality – packing –
delivery. We can thus attribute these activities to two segments of the chain. The Retail segment and
the Vendor segment. We have thus two functions of merchandising – Retail – Vendor (Production) –

Lilo And Stitch: What Does Family Really Mean?
What Does Family Really Mean? In the Disney movie Lilo and Stitch there is a girl who lives with
her older sister named Nani. They both live together without their parents in Hawaii, but them being
separated from their parents does not mean they are not a family. Lilo states in the movie "Ohana
means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. This means that families will
always be there even when we are separated. A family comes from all different shapes and sizes
whether just being the only child or having brothers and sisters. The definition of a family is love
because we care for one another, supporting each other, and help one another no matter what. First,
the definition of family is for everyone to care for one another. When we care for our family we are
taking care of them when they are sick, or stick by their side when something bad happened. Care
can also mean to be protective of a family member, whether babysitting, or watching someone that
is sick. Family members are very attached to each other when someone gets hurt or just very
cautious of what everyone does. Every family goes through someone being sick or needing help

someone else when that person needs it. Family will always have each other's back for any reason
when needing help with something. Supporting can be the same as caring because they are both

The Themes Of Family In The Movie The Intouchables
"'Ohana' means 'family'. 'Family' means 'noone gets left behind'," is the famous quote from Lilo and
Stitch that perfectly portrays the movie The Intouchables. The theme family is shown many times in
the movie The Intouchables. It is first seen when a man, named Driss, is hired to care for a paralyzed
man and they develop a bond that cannot be broken. It is also seen between Driss and his step–
brother. Although these are the main portrayals of family, it is also seen with Driss and his
coworkers. The previous relationships mentioned show family in a different way. The people in
those relationships are not blood–related yet still manage to treat each other like family. Being
treated like family is respecting one another, taking care of each other, and never losing touch no
matter how busy life gets. With that being said, family does not always mean being immediate
family. In the Intouchables, family is a common theme found in multiple points of the movie.
The theme family is first shown when Driss first gets hired to work and take care of Philippe. They
get along so easily that their bond forms quickly. They adapted to one another's personalities so they
can joke about one another without someone getting hurt. The first example of their humor is when
Driss asks, "Where do you find a paraplegic", where Philippe then replies, "I don't know". Driss
finishes by joking, "Where you leave him". This is just the beginning of the blossoming relationship
between these two. The fact that Driss did not get fired from this sketchy joke indicates that Philippe
is started to take a liking to Driss. He realizes that Driss does not make Philippe's handicappedness a
roadblock, but rather finds ways to use that and have fun with it. Since Philippe cannot feel anything
from the waist and down, Driss has a little fun asking questions like, "So if you have red ears, it
means you're turned on?" which leads Philippe to respond with "That's it. Sometimes I even wake
up with hard lobes". They both end up laughing and the audience is able to see the progression of
their bond. They are so happy hanging out with one another. Just like in a family, you can get
irritated with each other, but never tired of one another. Finally, these two men

Meaning Of Family In Lilo And Stitch
"Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten," Lilo (Disney's Channel's
original series Lilo and Stitch, David Ogden Stiers). This quote one by a fictional character holds
one of the realest meanings ever. I happen to wholeheartedly believe in this quote and every
meaning it may hold, not because I love the Lilo and Stitch series as well as the movies (though I
do), but because of the fact that I think it has an in depth significance in the meaning of family. It
shows a depiction even through the eyes of blue alien like creature the importance of the word
family. A specific piece that displayed an importance of family like the quote did is the novel
"Where am I wearing," by Kelsey Timmerman. In this book, family is ... Show more content on

Personal Narrative Essay : The Story Of The Golf Carts
On a crisp June morning, I was driving my golf cart through the neighborhood listening to some
music and having a great morning and then suddenly it took a turn downhill. You see the debris on
the ground and I'm in shocked of what just happen. Screaming at the top of my lungs for help,
hoping someone would hear me and call for help. Blood running down my leg, hearing the
ambulance sirens in the back ground. Just hoping this is a dream.
On a Tuesday afternoon I decided to take the golf cart out for a spin while my mom was home for
lunch. Having a great time wind through my hair and listening to music then seeing my life flash
before my eyes I go rolling out of the golf cart and on to the cement. I hit a curb and the golf cart
goes rolling over and over again finally landing on my left ankle. I was stuck underneath the golf
cart and could not get it off me while I'm trying not to get battery acid on me. Thankfully a cable
van drove and he jumped out of the van and came got the cart off my ankle. I pulled my sock down
to look at my ankle and all you see is a puddle of blood and bone. It was like someone took an ice
cream scooper and took a chunk of my skin out. The cable guy called for an ambulance, the time
they got there I couldn't feel my ankle anymore. All of the nerves were gone and it was numb.
Someone got in touch with my mom and she rushed to the wreck in total shock and didn't know
what to say. Then the paramedics finally got there and they thought it would just be a

Characters Of Spider Man
Three Fictional Characters Essay
You need someone who goes out of their way to make it obvious that they want you in your life
such as family, friend and the person that you really love. There are many ways that I could be able
to describe myself like with different kind of characters. Let me tell you the three main characters
that I can really relate to and how their characteristics are related to me. The three fictional
characters that most represent my personality are Spider–Man from the movie Spider–man for his
helping out and caring for people, King Kong from the movie King Kong for his strength and
defense of his own territory and family, and Jumba from Lilo and Stitch for his loving nature and
protection of his family from enemies.
Even though Spider–Man has a costume and can let out a web to climb or to get to places in the
Spider–Man movie, that doesn't mean that we don't have similarities; we both like helping people
and taking care of them as well. When the audience is first introduced to Spider–Man, he is visiting
a museum where there is a different kind of species because he is a photographer from the school
that he attended. While trying to take a picture, he notices that there is a spider missing from the
box, but until the spider was crawling down and landing on to Peter's hand, he got bitten by it.
Spider–Man's classmates are not kind to him, just because of the way that he is, which causes him to
try to get along with other people who are nicer to him.

Lilo And Stitch Themes
Lilo and Stitch is an animated science fiction film that is targeted for young kids and families.
Although people may think that the movie is only for enjoyment, it also has a good message to
remember. The importance of family is shown in many scenes throughout the film. The two
completely different worlds of a sad young girl and a reckless fluffy alien come together in this
memorable, action–packed family film.
Lilo is a young girl who lives in Hawaii with her older sister, Nani. She is not the happiest child
because of the many troubles in her life. She feels excluded from people more often than not
because she acts differently compared to others. She does not have that many friends and depends
on her sister for most of her needs. Her parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lilo and Nani's parents died in a car accident, so they learned to live with only each other. Lilo was
very young when the accident happened, so Nani had to take over and act as the mother figure.
Before Stitch joined the family, Lilo felt lonely and out of place. It was hard for her to fit in with
girls around her and she did not have a full family. The quote that is most said throughout the movie
is, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten." Family is so
important to Lilo because she did not have one. When she adopted Stitch, she taught him the
meaning of ohana. Stitch realized the importance of family towards the end when he chose to save
Lilo from Captain Gantu. He risked himself to rescue her, which shows how much he cared. The
progress that he made from the beginning of the movie to the end is profound. He started out as an
inconsiderate, evil creature. But once he realized how much he cared about Lilo and his new family,
he did what he could to save the young girl. A.O. Scott posted his review about Lilo & Stitch in the
New York Times. He thought the movie had simple graphics, but he thought the story was sweet and
charming. He believed that the theme of the movie was about one person having to preserve her
family while the other must make one for himself. He also thought of ohana as another theme. Scott
presumes that the movie is more soothing than thrilling with a cozy and familial

A Comparison Of Morality In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Frankenstein is a classic written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley that has captured readers'
imaginations since the nineteenth century. The moral of Frankenstein was that a lack of
companionship will lead to self–destruction. Lilo and Stitch, the Disney adapted version, has the
same moral. Each teach the same, basic lesson that companionship and friends are generally positive
things, yet they told different stories. Their stories, at first glance, are almost unrecognizable from
each other. When comparing the two versions, one might ask how the morals remained the same
despite the drastic alterations that Disney made. However, if one were to take a look at the changes
that Disney made he or she would understand how. In Lilo and Stitch, Stitch (Disney's equivalent of
Frankenstein's monster) is a protagonist while the monster is the antagonist in the original, Stitch
makes friends whereas Frankenstein's monster suffers throughout the entire book without so much
as a friendly gesture, and as a result, the endings are completely different as well. Both Frankenstein
and Lilo and Stitch tell the same story of someone who created life and faced the consequences. The
story by Shelley begins with letters from Robert Walton, a ship captain, to his sister; while on an
expedition, Walton took in a man, Victor Frankenstein, who preceded to tell his life story, and, in
doing so, told him that he created life. His creation, the monster, eventually killed his loved ones

Narrative Essay About Becoming A Family
Becoming a Family It was the first day of high school, a new school, and a new town. The only
class I was looking forward to was band. I knew band was the same no matter where I was. Little
did I know that I was not just joining a band I was joining a family.
The first couple of days I got to know a lot of my classmates, started making friends, and really got
to know my director. Most of the kids had him since they were in grade school, so I was out of the
loop with current events in his life. After the first month or so I found out that his wife had had
cancer and she had just been diagnosed with it again. So just as every high school band, the first
semester was marching band. With marching band, you have competitions. It was not long before
we were all on board helping him through this rough time. At the first competition we all had pinned
white cancer ribbons on our uniforms before we get on the field. I remember looking at him when
he saw us and just him tearing up and telling us how much he loved us. So, we decided on red hearts
to be sown on the uniforms permanently. I also remember before a home football game we had a
prayer circle for them because it had gotten worse, and little did we know one of the moms had
taken a video of us and sent it to him. After that he knew that he could lean on all of us to help him.
A couple months after marching band and Christmas was over, she passed away. It was hard for all
of us because we all loved and cared about him, and we

My Family Has A Big Influence On The Language

  • 1. My Family Has A Big Influence On The Language Family ties My family has a big influence on the language I use when I am with them, and even when I am not. If I do say so myself my family is rather very funny and we all just have a really great since of humor. A lot of the time we are just joking around or poking fun at one another, in a loving way of course. The relationship I have with my siblings is very important to me that relationship has really helped shape my everyday language. Most of the words or phrase I use in the family setting are from television shows, movies, or just things someone in my house has said before that is now constantly reoccurring. "Hey Assbutt!!" ("Swan Song") My sister and I really love television, and binge watching shows together. I lot of the time we hear things that just really stick with us, and we can not help but incorporate them into our daily lives. "Hey assbutt" is from the show supernatural, Castel a fallen angel says this to a demon right before he kills him to save Dean Winchester. In the show they make fun of Castel for saying this, which makes it all the more funny. I use this when I am greeting my sister sometimes or in a situation were I need her attention. An example sentence would be something like, "Hey assbutt get down here!" When I say this in a setting that is not around my sister people usually do not understand, and some even seem offended, so I typically keep this term between my sister and I. "Then why don't you sell me and buy a rabbit instead?" (Lilo and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Creative Writing: Mere, Pere "Mere, Pere what will we do?" I asked. The French Revolution was going on, and many had died. "Danielle, there is no need to worry. We are safe here." Mere patted my shoulder. Pere nodded and turned to Mere. "I'll need to leave to go get food," Pere said to Mere. "Be careful." She waved as Pere exited the house. She turned to me and walked over. "Get your box." My box was a Limoges Box, which Pere gave me when I was 5 years of age. I ran to my room and picked up the red box. It felt cool to the touch. As I was just about to leave, my little sister, Agathe, peeked into my room. "Sister, where are you going with your box?" She inquired eagerly. "Mere wanted me to grab it." I quickly ran past Agathe and handed the box to Mere. "Why did you need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I put my box on my side table and dash to the kitchen. I grabbed some crepes and quickly finished them. "I have been called to war," Pere announced. "But Pere," Agathe said with tears forming in her eyes, and I knew she knew what that word meant, "I don't want you to go." "You don't need to worry, Agathe," Mere massaged Agathe's back, "Pere will say safe." I went back to my room and put my apron on. Grabbing my sewing kit, I sat down. I notesting that Agathe's doll had a small hole, I picked it up. I rummaged through my scrap fabric, I found a piece that matched. Agathe walked in. "What are you doing with my doll!" She yelled. "It had a hole, I'm patching up." She sat down beside me and watched me stitch the doll back up. "Thanks sister!" She beamed. She looked down at her doll. "Can you teach me how to do that?" "Um, sure." I gave her a needle, thread, and fabric. We spent the rest of the day sewing and stitching. It was the next evening when we received the news. "Pere... has died," Mere hung her head. Agathe started to wail. "I want Pere," she cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. Mere handed me the necklace Pere bought Mere years ago. I knew what she meant. I dashed to my Limoges Box and put the necklace in it. "I'll miss you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Building A Bear Workshop, Inc. Build–A–Bear Workshop, Inc. is the first leading and largest global company that offers an interactive make–your–own teddy bears and other stuffed animals. This company is a true innovation in the retail industry. "Innovation is not a one–time event, but a process that must be continuously managed, measured and carried out in all a company's products, services and business functions" (Knowledge Wharton). Innovation can also mean developing and improving the next new technologies. The key point of this can lead to an increase in businesses' success, better productivity and performance. Innovation is strategic because we get to create new importance at the intersection with a combination of business model and technology. Many successful companies implement new, creative ideas, essentially critical for business strategy and the strategic vision. "Both innovations go together and have to be thought and implemented as a whole." (Knowledge Wharton) There are significant steps to approach towards innovation. Strategic leadership consists of training and empowering business employees to implement strategic actions from the top down. Motivational and influential leadership establish innovation in businesses. There are six levers for change in both the business model and technology innovation. Three levers for change in business model innovation are value proposition, supply chain, and target customers. "Value proposition of the product or service is basically what is sold and ... • 7. How A Quilt Helps Your Body And Comfort The Soul Have you ever pricked yourself while sewing a big bulky quilt by putting the pieces together? Yes, it may have happened quite a few times while you were in the middle of the process. A quilt can warm the body and comfort the soul. It is a warm bed covering made of padding enclosed between layers of fabric and kept in place by lines of stitching, made to comfort and warm people's body when they are a little chilly. Sewing is important because without the stitching, the fabrics wouldn't be held in place correctly. Quilting can be also a big challenge because it is time consuming, but it would all be worth it because a quilt can last forever and also hold memories for a lifetime. There are many important aspects to quilting and sewing, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wealthy people of that time were the only ones that could afford the expensive fabric that was imported. The quilts displayed the fine needle work of the maker. During the 1800s in many parts of the country, before a young woman got married and had a family, she would have to make a baker's dozen of quilt tops. The engagement quilt collection had to consist of 12 utility quilts, undoubtedly pieces and one great quilt for her bridal bed. After the engagement, she would make the last step to turn her tops into finished quilts. In the early 1990's, once again became a popular hobby for many people. Quilting became popular because back then people loved the quilting process and how the quilts turned out to be. Some of the handwork involved in quilting was actually a relaxation for pioneer woman. It was also a relief from the drudgery and family life on the frontier. Fine handwork was a source of pride and status. During the time of the Great Depression, people were too poor, or so broke that they couldn't afford to buy blankets, so mostly everyone relied on women's handy skills and resources to make blankets or quilts to keep them and their family warm in the winter time. They used the left over pieces of material from clothing, blankets, and feed sacks and used them for quilters when they couldn't buy anything else. Between the 1970's and the 1980's, the granddaughters of the older women began to see their interest in quilting and sewing. In the late 1960's, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Don 't Get Me Wrong Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, and never plan to live without one. But isn't it weird how you can have so many amazing experiences with dogs and only one traumatic event, and yet the bad one is the one that stands out? It was an ordinary fall day, October 24th, 2012. I was thrilled to spend the night at my friend's house. After school, we got onto the bus for the 40–minute drive. Once the bus ride was over, we got off the bus and walked up the driveway as we talked about what we were going to do that night. With all the plans ahead of us, we decided to start out the evening by making brownies. While we were waiting for them to bake, we went on her trampoline, hoping we wouldn't burn them. Trying to act calm, my friend's mom said, "Umm... Jennah got bit by Mader and I need you or Eric to come and pick her up!" After she was done on the phone, still waiting in line to checkout, she told me she was whispering to herself "Please don 't let it be on her face, Please don 't let it be on her face." My dad came to pick me up and took me back home, by this time, my mom was back from the store. They set me on the counter with the used to be white washcloth, my aching lip, and me crying. I don't know why we had to stop home but we did. We all got in the car, with me still balling my eyes out. my mom was silent and my dad was on the phone with the hospital talking to the plastic surgeon. I just remember having a million questions. Who is he talking to? What are they talking about? Is it really bad? Am I gonna need surgery? How long is this gonna take? Considering that my dad is a surgeon, he realized that the bloody wound was in need of immediate attention. Soon, me and my worried and concerned parents were at the Emergency Room at St. Joseph's Hospital. They put me in a small, sterile smelling exam room. I think it was here that it all hit me. I worried that from now on I will always be scared of dogs. I worried that my face would look weird. I worried about it hurting. I worried about what people at school would think about my face. I ... • 11. Being A Student Of The Jewish Bible And A Disciple Being a student of the Jewish Bible and a disciple in Jesus' day was for the very few. Boys and girls went to school and began memorizing and studying the Torah from ages 6 – 10. By the age of 10, most children would have memorized the entire Torah the first five books of our Old Testament, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Imagine! At 10, formal education ended for girls and many boys. Most children began to apprentice the family trade or learn how to manage a household. The best students though continued their education at the next level. During their training, they would memorize the rest of the Hebrew Scriptures, so they knew Genesis – Malachi by heart. At 15, the best of those best students would continue to the next level of education while the rest began to learn their family's trade. These best of the best students would go to a Rabbi and apply to become one of his disciples. And the Rabbi would choose the best of the best of the best, ones he thought might be able to follow him. Being a disciple involved more than "head" knowledge; they sought to become like the Rabbi. They wanted to do what the Rabbi did. Only the "cream of the crop" we might say, the very best of the best of the best were allowed to become disciples –– until Jesus. Today our Gospel in Disney sermon series is a movie that doesn't quite fit the Disney mold. • 13. The Role Of Sociology And Its Effect On Society Essay Sociology is an important term to understand as it explains social life, behavior, and change. Everything that individuals, groups, companies, and even nations do shapes our world and how we interact with others. With that in mind, there are many things that shape society and the groups within it like culture, race, gender, family, groups and organizations, education, and the ever changing norms that we associate with in everyday life. A lot of these norms are influenced by the media. Television shows, movies, music, and celebrities impact individual lives every single day and because of our interaction with other people, media can easily change our society. As it can have such an impact, it is good to look into the sociology that is hidden in movies so we can understand the changes that happen around us. Even though some movies are very realistic and true to the world we live in, some are not, but this does not mean that we cannot sociologically study it. Lilo & Stitch is one example of a movie that is not very realistic but there are many aspects in the movie that are true to society that can be illuminated sociologically. Lilo & Stitch takes place in a small town on an island in Hawaii where a little girl named Lilo eventually befriends an alien who she comes to name Stitch. The movie starts out at a galactic federation headquarters in space where they are holding a trial for Jumba, the so called evil creator of experiment 626, also known as Stitch. • 15. Personal Narrative: My Growing Up Young Growing up young was very rough for me. From the age of 5–12 was my roughest time period. By the age of 8 I had given up on life and felt that I had no reason to still be living. Day by day things got harder and harder. I was physically, emotionally, and verbally abused by my mother. She made those 7 years the worst years of my life. From 1st to 4th grade I was forced to clean the house before I could go to school. I had to wash, rinse, and dry the dishes, sweep and vacuum the floor, make my sisters' and brothers' beds, pick up my pallet, dust, and take out the trash. After I finished I had to walk around the corner to my elementary school, Alma Redwine. I was young and thought that I was being obedient. After coming to school late for the ... After I put on the robe I lied in bed and waited, what felt like forever, for the doctor to come stitch me up. While I was waiting I was visited by my uncle, my pastor, and my auntie came back up to check on me. After waiting 10 minutes for the doctor to arrive he came in the room, introduced himself, and told me to show him the part of my arm that needed to be stitched. First, he cleaned my arm and the wound. Then, he pushed the part of my meat that was hanging out of my arm back in. Then, he stuck me with a needle and made my arm go completely numb. After he stuck me with the needle, he stitched my arm up and wrapped it. Once he finished he told my grandpa that I had to wash and rewrap my arm for the next two weeks then come back so he could remove them. He asked me to tell him what happened so I did. After I finished telling him the story and how I blocked the knife with my arm he was shocked. He told me that if I would have been a split second later she would have hit me in my head and I would have died instantly. After that day my life has never been the same. I cried myself to sleep everyday thinking about what the doctor told me. Since that day my life has been better but sometimes I still reflect on the event and what I was told. I was an integral member of the Science Frosh Sponsorship team, especially when it concerned acquiring the funds and equipment for the most successful frosh of 2016. While I do not have any "new" ideas pertaining to Science Games, I have one idea that may make the Hype Night more successful. When it comes to Power Hour, everyone enjoys being covered in beer, but no one enjoys the clean–up afterwards –especially the staff of Cafe Campus. Even less so if you must wade through a conglomerate concoction of beer, mixed drinks (for celiac inclusivity, of course), wheels, sweat and pure degeneracy. A way to combat this would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Family means nobody gets left behind (or forgotten)." I came to McGill University from a high school environment that was not particularly inclusive, but frosh taught me how to further involve my peers to have an even better experience. Whenever one is in a group setting, it is important to make sure everyone feels welcomed without damaging the social structure of the current group context. In other words, it isn't right to let one person in attendance sit out and feel unwelcome, but it is also not very fair to divert attention away from other people just to attend to the newcomer. Inclusivity means effective integration, not special attention. I believe the best way to positively incorporate these values would be to make the concept of inclusivity more available to the participants. Chants and subjection to drinking are only fun if the person wants to participate in that particular event. Inclusivity during science events is easy (especially in regards to alcohol) if everyone recognizes the "opt–in–environment," i.e. alcohol is an opt–in activity, not one you have to opt–out ... • 19. My Family What would you do if one day you got the chance to look in another person's life. If you want to follow me into my loving and caring house, you will learn all about my family. You will learn what makes us unique. You will also learn about how each member is important to me. What you find out may surprise you or terrify you. One thing though that my family sticks by is a line from the disney movie lilo and stitch: "Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." So if you would like to know what it is to be in my family come and join me. The first person I'm going to tell you about is Stacie the jokester. The reason my sister is the jokester of the family is she always tells you jokes or awful puns that make you want to laugh no matter how hard you try not to. I remember one time I was so upset when I lost my best friend that I was walking through the school and to her car crying. On the way home she kept trying to get me to smile with puns like what did the waiter say to the customer when they gave them their order, careful it's fishy. When she got me laughing she was happy because she made me happy. Whenever I am in a bad mood she can sense it and starts telling puns and jokes. • 21. Thread And Balance By Timothy Tapestry Thread and Balance In a small town many years ago, the Tapestry family walked to work enjoying the simple pleasures that the morning offered. Timothy Tapestry was a tall man with blond hair and a subdued face. He had lived in this town his whole life, and just like any other morning, he gazed happily at the hills in the distance. Ever since he was young, Timothy had marveled at how the sun lit up those hills in the morning, and since he was a creature of habit, he did the same today. Past his thoughts, and in a world of her own, Adeline Tapestry walked with her husband to work. She too enjoyed the morning, but for reasons other than its routine. Adeline had an easy smile, and delighted in the fact that she could walk with Timothy to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even as they said yes, a cloud of doubt covered their hearts, because they knew full well that three days was not enough time to make these items. However, they had already agreed to the task. So they took the slip of paper containing the king and queen 's measurements. "With these deadlines in mind," the king began. "We bid you farewell." He then raised his hand to wave goodbye, and the royal parade began to leave. A mixture of joy and anxiety rushed through Timothy and Adeline as the king and queen left. For although the Tapestrys were well known for their quality products, it always took them a while to actually fabricate their orders. They would have to work quickly, and precisely to overcome their time constraints. Once the crowd had finally dispersed, the Tapestrys let themselves into their shop. It was a homey place that told comforting stories through its exposed beams, and crackling fireplace. Immediately they began to pull out different fabrics, and patterns trying to decide what would best suit King Leonardo, and his wife Queen Alisha. Ideas were shared and compromises made, so that in the end it was decided that Timothy would make the king 's coat, while Adeline would make the queen's. • 30. Movie Analysis : Lilo And Stitch The movie Lilo and Stitch is a movie that addresses the struggle people face with feeling alone. A heavy topic for a children's movie, and one I never really thought about all the times I have watched it. Lilo and Stitch was the first movie I ever saw in theatres and so it holds a special place in my heart for that reason, but I think also connected to the movie on a deeper level. The story centers around Lilo, a 6 year old girl from Hawaii with a big imagination, who is now in the custody of her older sister, Nani, after their parents died in a car accident. Stitch appears in the movie after Lilo prays for a friends, so to Lilo, Stitch the rogue aline is an angel sent from heaven. By analyzing the movie through it's characters, one can ... I grew up with the movie and I have watched it so many times (likely 100 or more). It never occurred to me that Nani looked different or wrong. I didn't even notice this was an element of the movie until I saw a post about it on Pinterest. One thing I have been told is that 'nobody notices if something is different if what they perceive to be is normal. ( an example most people don't day they just notice when something is different and part of them thinks it's wrong. I grew up with this movie and never saw anything wrong with Nani, I would argue this movie made me see a body image like Nani's to be normal and acceptable. Another major characteristic of Nani is her continuous support of Lilo's imagination. There are so many instances in the movie where Nani makes sure not to harm Lilo's imagination. One of the best examples is when Nani gets fired from her Job. Nanii gets fired from her job because Stitch was being disruptive and attacked a customer, but what she says is completely different: Lilo: Did you lose your job because of Stitch and me? Nani: Nah. But that all changed when I looked down at my leg. I was unaware that the events of the day would show that following your instincts is usually the way to go. It was seven AM when I woke up and was in a rush to get to my lacrosse practice since I needed to be there eight. Personally, I hated lacrosse. Not just the game itself but the gear. Everyone on the team had an uncomfortable helmet, arm pads, gloves, and a heavy stick. I was still unaware that this would be the scariest day of my life. I showed up late so the coach made me run a lap before joining the scrimmages. We were at a park with a stone wall that surrounded the perimeter, about one and a half feet tall. Halfway through my lap the ball I had been carrying in my stick fell out. As I went to pick it up, I glanced over at my team because of an amazing play that had just happened. Then I hit a rock. Shaken, I picked up the ball and began to run, noticing something was wrong. I felt the sting of the cool wind on my knee. This made me stop and sit on the wall so that I could look my at knee. That's when I started to cry. My knee had a gash that went down to the bone. As I looked in horror blood surrounded a white object. I immediately thought that this was the bone. Lilo states in the movie "Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. This means that families will always be there even when we are separated. A family comes from all different shapes and sizes whether just being the only child or having brothers and sisters. The definition of a family is love because we care for one another, supporting each other, and help one another no matter what. First, the definition of family is for everyone to care for one another. When we care for our family we are taking care of them when they are sick, or stick by their side when something bad happened. • 50. The Themes Of Family In The Movie The Intouchables "'Ohana' means 'family'. 'Family' means 'noone gets left behind'," is the famous quote from Lilo and Stitch that perfectly portrays the movie The Intouchables. The theme family is shown many times in the movie The Intouchables. It is first seen when a man, named Driss, is hired to care for a paralyzed man and they develop a bond that cannot be broken. It is also seen between Driss and his step– brother. Although these are the main portrayals of family, it is also seen with Driss and his coworkers. The previous relationships mentioned show family in a different way. The people in those relationships are not blood–related yet still manage to treat each other like family. Being treated like family is respecting one another, taking care of each other, and never losing touch no matter how busy life gets. With that being said, family does not always mean being immediate family. In the Intouchables, family is a common theme found in multiple points of the movie. The theme family is first shown when Driss first gets hired to work and take care of Philippe. They get along so easily that their bond forms quickly. They adapted to one another's personalities so they can joke about one another without someone getting hurt. The first example of their humor is when Driss asks, "Where do you find a paraplegic", where Philippe then replies, "I don't know". Driss finishes by joking, "Where you leave him". This is just the beginning of the blossoming relationship between these two. The fact that Driss did not get fired from this sketchy joke indicates that Philippe is started to take a liking to Driss. He realizes that Driss does not make Philippe's handicappedness a roadblock, but rather finds ways to use that and have fun with it. Since Philippe cannot feel anything from the waist and down, Driss has a little fun asking questions like, "So if you have red ears, it means you're turned on?" which leads Philippe to respond with "That's it. Sometimes I even wake up with hard lobes". They both end up laughing and the audience is able to see the progression of their bond. They are so happy hanging out with one another. • 62. Characters Of Spider Man Three Fictional Characters Essay You need someone who goes out of their way to make it obvious that they want you in your life such as family, friend and the person that you really love. There are many ways that I could be able to describe myself like with different kind of characters. Let me tell you the three main characters that I can really relate to and how their characteristics are related to me. The three fictional characters that most represent my personality are Spider–Man from the movie Spider–man for his helping out and caring for people, King Kong from the movie King Kong for his strength and defense of his own territory and family, and Jumba from Lilo and Stitch for his loving nature and protection of his family from enemies. Even though Spider–Man has a costume and can let out a web to climb or to get to places in the Spider–Man movie, that doesn't mean that we don't have similarities; we both like helping people and taking care of them as well. When the audience is first introduced to Spider–Man, he is visiting a museum where there is a different kind of species because he is a photographer from the school that he attended. While trying to take a picture, he notices that there is a spider missing from the box, but until the spider was crawling down and landing on to Peter's hand, he got bitten by it. Spider–Man's classmates are not kind to him, just because of the way that he is, which causes him to try to get along with other people who are nicer to him. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lilo was very young when the accident happened, so Nani had to take over and act as the mother figure. Before Stitch joined the family, Lilo felt lonely and out of place. It was hard for her to fit in with girls around her and she did not have a full family. The quote that is most said throughout the movie is, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten." Family is so important to Lilo because she did not have one. When she adopted Stitch, she taught him the meaning of ohana. Stitch realized the importance of family towards the end when he chose to save Lilo from Captain Gantu. He risked himself to rescue her, which shows how much he cared. The progress that he made from the beginning of the movie to the end is profound. He started out as an inconsiderate, evil creature. But once he realized how much he cared about Lilo and his new family, he did what he could to save the young girl. A.O. Scott posted his review about Lilo & Stitch in the New York Times. He thought the movie had simple graphics, but he thought the story was sweet and charming. He believed that the theme of the movie was about one person having to preserve her family while the other must make one for himself. He also thought of ohana as another theme. Scott presumes that the movie is more soothing than thrilling with a cozy and familial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. A Comparison Of Morality In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Frankenstein is a classic written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley that has captured readers' imaginations since the nineteenth century. The moral of Frankenstein was that a lack of companionship will lead to self–destruction. Lilo and Stitch, the Disney adapted version, has the same moral. Each teach the same, basic lesson that companionship and friends are generally positive things, yet they told different stories. Their stories, at first glance, are almost unrecognizable from each other. When comparing the two versions, one might ask how the morals remained the same despite the drastic alterations that Disney made. However, if one were to take a look at the changes that Disney made he or she would understand how. In Lilo and Stitch, Stitch (Disney's equivalent of Frankenstein's monster) is a protagonist while the monster is the antagonist in the original, Stitch makes friends whereas Frankenstein's monster suffers throughout the entire book without so much as a friendly gesture, and as a result, the endings are completely different as well. Both Frankenstein and Lilo and Stitch tell the same story of someone who created life and faced the consequences. The story by Shelley begins with letters from Robert Walton, a ship captain, to his sister; while on an expedition, Walton took in a man, Victor Frankenstein, who preceded to tell his life story, and, in doing so, told him that he created life. His creation, the monster, eventually killed his loved ones before making a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 68. Narrative Essay About Becoming A Family Becoming a Family It was the first day of high school, a new school, and a new town. The only class I was looking forward to was band. I knew band was the same no matter where I was. Little did I know that I was not just joining a band I was joining a family. The first couple of days I got to know a lot of my classmates, started making friends, and really got to know my director. Most of the kids had him since they were in grade school, so I was out of the loop with current events in his life. After the first month or so I found out that his wife had had cancer and she had just been diagnosed with it again. So just as every high school band, the first semester was marching band. With marching band, you have competitions. It was not long before we were all on board helping him through this rough time. At the first competition we all had pinned white cancer ribbons on our uniforms before we get on the field. I remember looking at him when he saw us and just him tearing up and telling us how much he loved us. So, we decided on red hearts to be sown on the uniforms permanently. I also remember before a home football game we had a prayer circle for them because it had gotten worse, and little did we know one of the moms had taken a video of us and sent it to him. After that he knew that he could lean on all of us to help him. A couple months after marching band and Christmas was over, she passed away. It was hard for all of us because we all loved and cared about him, and we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
