Dr. Kristin Palmer from the University of Virginia developed a massive open online course (MOOC) on sustainability that initially faced challenges. As a new faculty member with funds from a published book, she created a MOOC on the globally hot topic of sustainability but the initial launch was a disaster due to too many peer reviews overwhelming the system. The course content was pulled and assessments were restructured, leading to a successful relaunch of the revised sustainability MOOC.
