About The Fund
The fund was launched on 10th June 2010 which is currently being managed by Harish Zaveri1 and
the overseas investments are managed by Jay Kothari. Over the past three years the fund asset under
management has increased from INR 361 crores in December 2012 to INR 1,177 crores as on
December 2015. The fund is positioned as large cap fund with a focus on selected stocks. It is
currently benchmarked against S&P BSE 200.2
Investment Philosophy
The fund philosophy centers on investing mainly into top 200 companies by market capitalization.
However, the fund manager would also take exposure to a maximum of 20% of net asset value into
companies beyond these top 200 companies by market capitalization. The fund manager intends to
use both top–down and bottom–up approach of stock selection as well as sector identification for
potential investment. The fund mandates to invest 95% of its assets (excluding investments in debt
securities, money market securities and cash and cash equivalents) across the top 25 holdings in the
Portfolio. The fund also intends to invest in debt securities and has the flexibility to take exposure
into ADR/GDR and Foreign Securities.

analysis of the daily and monthly data for both Nifty and Sensex for the period April 1, 2001 to

caused significant reduction in asset prices and stock markets in quite a small number of Asian

funds and experienced a theatrical run–up in asset prices. As a part of market amalgamation, the
capital market of India is no longer cut off from international economic measures and their stock
index travels. This paper finds the correlation of Indian Stock market with four other major Asian
economies: Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. A weak correlation concludes that the Indian
stock markets propose diversification benefits to institutional and international investors. The paper
finds non routine feature in the stock return allotment of the five economies of Asia including India.

The enactment of Depositories Act in August 1996 paved the way for establishment of National
Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), the first depository in India. It went on to establish
infrastructure based on international standards that handles most of the securities held and settled in
de–materialised form in the Indian capital markets.

instruments of price discovery, portfolio diversification and risk hedging in recent times. This paper

Questions pertaining to the impact of derivative trading on cash market volatility have been
empirically addressed in two ways: by comparing cash market volatilities during the pre–and post–
futures/ options trading eras and second, by evaluating the impact of options and futures trading
(generally proxied by trading volume) on the behaviour of cash markets. The literature is, however,
inconclusive on whether introduction of derivative products lead to an increase or decrease in the
spot market volatility. One school of thought argues that the introduction of futures trading increases
