Introduction
School has prime importance in human life.
Education is the tool of social change. The principles
'EducationforAll(EFA)'and 'EqualityofOpportunity'
were emerged just after the world war II which caused
to spread education to masses. It is supposed that the
responsibility of educating people lies on the shoul-
ders of the government. But it is very difficult due to
explosion of population and knowledge. So it is the
responsibility of the factors in the society to educate
the people. In past British rule in India private schools
were run. In British rule the number of private schools
was very less. Missionaries started to educate the
children in their schools in India. Wood's Dispatch
(1854) recommended that private schools should be
opened by the private institution and government
shouldprovidethemgrantinaid.Thesamerecommen-
dation was made by Hunter Commission (1882).
Thisresultedinincreaseinnumberofschools
by private institutions. Lord Curzon (1905) recom-
mended that all aided and non aided schools should be
controlled and regulated by the government. It clearly
shows that the responsibility of education of children
should be shouldered by the private institutions and
should be provided grant in aid to these schools.

It is supposed that the responsibility of educating people lies on the shoulders of the government. But it is very difficult
due to explosion of population and knowledge. From the right beginning SPM is providing quality education to the student
in rural. During this long period the institution progressed quantitatively and qualitatively. The researcher wanted to know
the information regarding the salient features of the administration of the institution, teaching learning process,

Prasarak MandalAkluj
Objectives
1. To find out salient features of the administration of
Shikshan Prasarak Mandal
2. To find out the problems of the administration of
Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.
3. To suggest the remedies over the administrative
problems of Shikshan Prasarak Mandal.
61RESEARCH ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION
International Indexed & Refereed Research Journal, ISSN 0975-3486, (Print) E-ISSN-2320-5482, July,2013 VOL-IV *ISSUE- 46
Assumptions
1. There are some special features of the administra
tion of Shikshan Prasarak Mandal
2. There are some administrative problems of educa
tional institution.
ResearchProcedure
ResearchMethod
Descriptive survey method was adopted to
conduct the research
Tools
A) Questionnaire for all heads of the branches
B) Interviews of the rectors, Governing Body mem
bers and senior most teachers
C) Visits and observation
Sampling
All 45 branches of the institution were se-
lected for the study. All heads of the branches were
selected as respondents for the study. All the rectors
of the hostels (3) and Governing Body members (7)
were selected by purposive sampling. Twenty two
seniormostteacherswereselected byclustersampling
for the study.
Analysis&InterpretationofData
Data collected through questionnaire, inter-
views, visits and observation was classified, analyzed
and interpreted. The statistical measures like percent-
age and mean were used.
Findings
1. All heads of branches had essential qualifications
having average 13 years experience.
2. The meetings of Local Managing Committee and
Prashala Committee were held every month.
3. Various new methods and techniques of teaching
were adopted by the teachers.
4. Recruitments and the transfer of the staff were done
at the beginning of the academic year.
5. Sincere efforts were taken for the qualitative devel
opment of the student in all the branches.
6. Most of the branches (80%) had very good infra
structure (building, office, classrooms, labs, play
grounds, toilets). Some of the branches had audito
riums.
7. Group Insurance Scheme and Staff Welfare Fund
were the welfare activities to raise the fund to pro
vide economic assistance to the staff with very less
interest rate. Group Insurance Scheme, educational
aids and uniforms from the school store, poor boys
fund, book bank, free cycles to poor and needy
students were some welfare activities for the
students.
8. All the branches had sufficient funds for their devel
opment.
Conclusions
The institution was doing quite good for qualitative
development by providing good governance, teaching
learning facilities and infrastructure.
Recommendations
1. New methods and techniques should be adopted to
make teaching learning effective and interestig.
2. Number of hostels should be increased. Good infra
structure should be provided to the rest of the
branches.
3. Useofcomputer,TV,tape recorderand OHPshould
be done extensively.
