 Education is the process of facilitating learning or the

habits.
 Education methods includes storytelling, discussion,
teaching, training and direct research.
 Formal education is commonly divided formally into
such stages as pre school or kinder garden, primary
school secondary school and than college.
 A right to education has been recognized by some
government and the united nations.
 In most regions education is compulsory to certain
age.
EDUCATION SECTOR IN INDIA
 India holds an important place in the global education
industry.
 India has one of the largest net work of higher
education institutions in the world. However there is
still a lot of potential for further development in the
education system.
Market size
 The education sector in India poised to witness major
growth in the years to come as India well have worlds
largest gradute talent pipeline globally by the end of
2020.
 Number of colleges and universities in India reached
39,050 and 903 respective in 2017-18. India had 36.64
million students enrolled in higher education in 2017-
18.
Meaning of Education
 Education is the one of the basic activities of people in
our human societies. The continued existence of
society depends upon the transmission of cultural
through the young. Education has come to be one of
the ways of fulfilling this need.
 Plato was of the opinion that the end of education was
to develop in the body and in the soul (of the pupil) all
the beauty and all the perfection of which there are
capable.
Definition of Education
• F.J.Brown and J.S Roucek say that education is the sum
total of the experience which moulds the attitudes and
determines the conduct of both the child and the
adult.
• James welton in Encyclopaedia britannica (11th Edition)
writes that education consists in “an attempt on the
part of the adult members of human society to share
the development of the coming generation with its
own ideals of life”.
Investment Recent Development
• The total amount of foreign direct investment(FDI)
inflow into the education sector in india stood at us$
1.75 billion from April 2000 to June 2018,according to
data released by department of industrial policy and
promotion.
• Indian education sector witnessed 18 merger and
acquisition deals worth us$ 49 million in 2017 .
• Singapore is goingto open its first skill development
centre in assam,which will provived vocational
training to youth in the region.
GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES
 In August 2018,Innovation cell and Atal Ranking of
Institutions on Innovation Achievements(ARIIA) were
launched to asses innovation efforts and encourage a
healthy competition among higher educational
Institutions in the country.
 In August 2018,Government of India launched the
second phase of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan which aims to
link higher educational institutions in the country
with atleast five villages
Educational Services Sector
 The educational services sector comprises establishments that provide
instruction and training in a wide variety of subjects such as
Schools,Colleges,Universities and training centres.They may also offer food and
accomodation services to their students.
 There are two types:
1. Work force statistics. 2. Work related fatalities,Injuries and Illnesses.
* Education Setting :
1. The federal requlations do not specify that normal education practice takes
place in school only.
2. The IRB-SBS defines an education setting as any setting where one would go
in order to have an educational experience.
* Research Participants:
1. The participants should include those involved in the education experience
which mostly likely will include the teachers students and possibly the
administration.
2. Participants that are indirectly involved in the education experience many be
included in the study.
Special Education
 1.Special education teacher support services (SETSS).
 Collaborative team teaching (CTT).
 Special class in a community school.
 Special class in a special school.
 Non-Public School:
1.You will be in a private school but the will be paying
your tuition.
2. If you are living at a residential treatment
center(RTC),You are likely attending the non-public
school that is on the same grounds as your rtc.
