Squirrel Nutkin's Diary for the Erasmus+ project "Be Fair Take Care"

1. ACTIVITIES DIARY
FOR ERASMUS +
PROJECT
SQUIRREL NUTKIN’S DIARY

2. On Tuesday, 6th of June, the
health care instructor visited
the school to inform the 6th
grade students about AIDS. It
was a very interesting lecture.

3. On the week June 7th
to June
14th
there was an art
exhibition at school. The
students of the school visited
the art room where the
exhibition was taking place
and had their class there. It
was a unique experience for
the students, who had the
chance to enjoy their art
work!

4. On Friday June 9th, was the closing ceremony at school. It was devoted to
the 6th graders who graduate this year. The students present a play about
the traditional Cypriot marriage. It was a very nice experience, not only
for me, but for the students too, who had the chance to revive the old
customs, music and dances.

6. I helped the 5th
grade students
to create the posters about
healthy living.

7. I was lucky enough to attend few
art classes in order to learn the
art of printing, linograph
particularly. It is very common
now in Cyprus primary schools to
learn this difficult technique.

9. During school breaks
Nutkin enjoys school
breaks! He is having fun
with students. He plays in
the school yard and eats
healthy food!

Nutkin visits
every classroom
and attends
various subjects!
Learning is fun!
Nutkin feels
very welcomed!

13. For father’s day the young
students create a paper tie for
their father!
Later, they tried them on!
Too much fun!

14. 21th June 2017- The end of school year
2016-2017
Last day at school before summer holidays
In Cyprus, students celebrate
the end of the school year by
having party the last day.
Nutkin was present to this
party and enjoyed food and
dancing in every classroom
he was invited.

15. GOODBYE TO STUDENTS OF GRADE 6
Students of Grade 6
have their last day at
our primary school,
since next September
will attend gymnasium.
They say goodbye to
their primary school
years by writing and
drawing on each
other’s shirts. It is an
exciting and emotional
day for them!
Goodbye to our sixth
graders! Good luck to
your gymnasium school
years! We are very
proud of you!

17. Sanctification at school
14/09/17
Our neighrourhood
priests visited our
school to bless us
with the holy water,
in order to have a
good school year.

18. During Break time…
I am having a snack
with the kids during
break time!

19. Learning the Austrian friendship dance
Nutkin is dancing with the B’1
class the Austrian friendship
dance. It’s really fun!

20. Creating our herbarium with herbs
grown in Cyprus
Students of Grade 4
studied various herbs
grown in Cyprus and
created their own
herbarium! They how all
these herbs can benefit
the human body!

22. Visit an olive park! (11/10/17)
I have visited today an olive
farm in a village named
Skarinou. There I had the
chance to experience the
whole procedure of the
olive harvest. I have seen a
1500 years old olive tree
and helped the kids pick up
some olives.

Then, we put the olives into
the crasher, in order to get
the olive paste, from which
the pure olive oil was
extracted. At the end, we had
the opportunity to taste the
fresh olive oil by dipping into
it the homemade bread our
guide offered us.
