TOGETHER, happy we'll be,
When we live IN HARMONY!
Storytelling uses words to create new worlds and
experiences in the reader's imagination.
Starting from the theme of this project
"Together, in harmony!", namely the well-being of
children in the school environment, the students from the
5 partner institutions were invited to relate significant
events for them, in this sense. Of course, we all want
students to feel relaxed and satisfied, especially when they
participate in the learning process. But it is also known
that the well-being of students requires the involvement of
both teachers and parents. These are their real-life stories.
You will find out how creative and happy they were,
just by reading the following pages.

I decided to tell the story of the day I sang a very beautiful song
in front of a very attentive audience.
It was a winter day. I felt a little anxious because I had to play
on the piano a rather difficult piece, called "Crickets Sing." I was
waiting for the moment, together with my best friends. Teacher Vito
Mandina, who I looked at with amusement because he was wearing
a Christmas hat, called me to sit at the piano. With great anxiety but
with happiness about singing in public, I looked at my parents and
my younger sister, Chiara, who had come to listen to me. The
moment had finally arrived. With a worried smile, I went towards the
piano and... one... two... three!Teacher Alberto Di Rosa waved his
hands decisively right, left, up and down. I was trying to follow the
lyrics and my fingers were dancing on the piano, even though the
crickets weren't playing then! At the end of the song, the audience
clapped wildly. Mrs La Rosa looked at me for a long time (but I
didn't understand what her look was trying to tell me).
Then I heard Prof. Mandina telling me that it was excellent! At this
point, I returned to my seat always smiling and proud of my
performance. When I arrived at the gym, where the concert took
place, my sister Chiara rushed to hug me and told me how proud she
was of me! It was my parents' turn to hold me and tell me that I was
great! I was red as a fresh ripe strawberry, but very excited. I felt
good and even a little important because I was so publicly
appreciated and greeted with applause.
I will never forget this wonderful day!

  • 7. In my school, there are always many activities: educational trips, Erasmus projects, guided tours, music and photography competitions, open days and concerts. I attend the music department and study the guitar. My instrument teacher very often gives me and my friend Samuele, who also plays the guitar, sheet music. A few months ago, before the Christmas recital, he gave us the Jingle Bells and Jingle Bells Rock sheet music that we were going to play in the orchestra with the 3rd graders. My friend and I were very happy and practised every Friday from three to five, plus he often came to my house to practice together. It was a beautiful and very demanding experience. For the first time, the 3rd graders didn't think of us as little kids, even though we are a year apart in age. I won't hide from you, though, that at first, I felt a little uncomfortable, maybe because I thought people would consider me small and ignore me, but that wasn't the case. This wonderful experience also helped me to understand that you should not be influenced by your own prejudices. Performing at the open day, the Christmas recital and even in front of the Principal, made me feel like I had a band and was on tour for the school. I love my school and the activities we do, especially because they give us the opportunity to make friends with other children outside of our class and without distinction because music brings everyone together. Giorgia Trigili, 12
  • 8. As a student of the “Francesco Riso Comprehensive” Institute, I participated in one of the most beautiful activities that the school could offer in the year 2022-2023: an internship in the United Kingdom. I was very anxious and happy that I was going abroad alone without my parents. The 18 third graders arrived at the London airport where we caught the bus that took us to the town of Bury. We became friends quickly. At school, they waited for us with all kinds of goodies, after which we went for a walk in the centre of Bury. We returned to the school to be introduced to the families who were to host us. It was very exciting to meet my host mom and dad! The next morning the teachers had planned a visit to London. Visiting the capital of the United Kingdom was a unique experience. It was so beautiful the visit to Cambridge, where I and many of my colleagues bought the same hoodies, which brought us together a lot. I am very grateful to the school for proposing this dream trip, to my parents who allowed me to participate in this adventure and to the teachers who made it possible by putting all their enthusiasm into it. The trip brought many positive results. We learned to be satisfied with what is put on the table to eat and we learned to relate to others even in the most difficult times, such as, when in the middle of the night, I took care of a friend who felt sick. This trip was a wonderful experience for me because, for the first time, I felt an integral part of a group, at the same level, with the same worries and joys. Clara Gambino, 13
  • 9. An event at my school that gave me a good feeling was the Erasmus project in Wroclaw, Poland. The group also included a classmate, two girls I didn't know, but with whom I became friends very quickly, and three teachers. During the two-and-a-half-hour plane ride, we talked and had fun. When we arrived we were very happy but a little lost, because the climate was not what we were used to. Immediately afterwards, the teachers of the host school accompanied us to the hotel. We left our luggage in the room and went on a tour of the city. I really liked it because it was modern and clean. For dinner, we went to a restaurant where we ate a traditional meal. The activities I participated in were very attractive, especially since I won a few games. We had a great time and I felt welcome. I met students from other countries, all very eager to communicate and participate in various sports competitions. I also played soccer and volleyball. One of the most original activities was the gnome hunt, typical of the city, scattered on the streets. The visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was very moving. Throughout the trip, I felt very good because I made many friends, spoke in English and enriched my knowledge about the education system, culture and traditions of other countries. We thus understood that the main objective of an Erasmus project is to improve students' knowledge and skills, being concerned with promoting and supporting their well-being in school. Andrea Giammalva, 13
  • 10. This year my school and parents allowed me to take part in a study holiday in the UK in Bury St. Edmunds, a small town near Cambridge. Initially, my parents were not very supportive because I had to stay in the house of an unknown English family. Fortunately, I managed to convince them, because the purpose of the project was to speak English and be able to get along well with others. Despite various difficulties we, the 18 Italian students, managed to arrive at the airport in London. But all my joy spilt over into tears, which my best friends managed to stave off with an encouraging hug. We were all ready together to face this experience as best we could, which happens only once in a lifetime. One of the trips proposed by the organizers was a day in London. We, the children, together with our teachers, decided to travel by hop on hop off bus so that we could see the most important monuments that the city has to offer. My favourite place was Piccadilly Circus because the free time I had, allowed me to joke with the teachers and meet my fellow travellers. At the end of the day, it was time to head back to Bury, but we weren't tired at all. We all sang loudly together in harmony to every kind of music, going from disco to reggae ton. Even today I miss so much the time we spent together because they were such funny moments. Thanks to this trip we all made new friends that we continue to cultivate today. It was magical! • 12. Each of us has attended or is attending a school. This place is like our second home, so here we learn to know the world and experience joy, happiness, success, sadness, and wonder. Once, in the first grade, I experienced joy and surprise when a person gave me a helping hand in an accident. It happened in the middle of the school year, in the first grade. I was so happy when I came from music class because we played a game I had suggested. I was jumping up and down the stairs. On the last steps, my legs got tangled and I tripped. At first, I did not feel any pain. When I tried to stand up, I tripped again because my leg hurt so badly. I moved to the side and started to cry. The pain was unbearable. The children walking by didn't notice me and neither did my friends. But a classmate with whom I had a disagreement came over and asked what was wrong and helped me to stand up. I walked back to the classroom with the help of my classmate and a few other children. That day I realised that you couldn't undervalue people because you don't like them or because you don't get along with them. That day was a lesson for me. It was one of the most memorable days of my life at school. From that moment on, I try not to underestimate people and to understand that they can be quite different from what they seem. I wish everyone to feel and experience friendship, trust and joy. Gytė Mauraitė, 13
  • 13. The school is like a second home to me, so, naturally, there will be a lot of good and bad memories. I chose this one that’s very special to me. It happened at the beginning of summer last year. I and the members of my music group "Atgimimas" worked hard and tried to prepare a song for the graduation because it was two weeks away and there was very little time left. At the time, our band was recently formed, so the graduation was our first performance. It wasn’t easy, but we were able to prepare the song in two weeks. When the time for the show came, I and my band members were standing behind the curtains, waiting for our moment, we were very nervous because it was our first show after all. The curtains opened, and it seemed as if the whole world stopped. We started performing, it was very difficult to perform in front of so many people. But I remembered that I wasn’t the only one on stage, my friends were with me. In the middle of our concert, the audience started clapping to the beat, you could feel their support and love. After the concert, we bowed and everyone started clapping with the most sincere applause. It was so good to feel everyone's support. This memory is very special to me because it was the first and best performance of me and my band. Every time I remember it, it warms my heart and it feels like I'm reliving that concert all over again. Lėja Kniežaitė, 13
  • 14. It was a trip that left me surprised as that day was really well spent. Let’s go back to October 2022, that was the time when my teacher came up with the idea of the trip to Anykščiai. On the day of departure, we gathered very early in the morning. A long way to Anykščiai awaited us. Firstly, when we arrived, we visited The Narrow Gauge Railway Station Museum. The guide told us about the origin of the narrow gauge, showed examples, and allowed us to ride an antique train. The next stop was Kalita Hill where the toboggan track is located. There we had a great time and were filled up with a lot of good emotions. At the last stop, we visited the Tree Top Path, where we could walk at the level of the treetops. Enjoying the beautiful view, we passed the path quite quickly. When we reached the end, we climbed up to the top of the tower where a beautiful landscape of Anykščiai opened. After going down, we came to Puntukas stone and we took some pictures next to it. Then, we slowly made our way back to the car park. This trip will be remembered for a very long time. We saw and learned a lot. I didn’t think it was possible to see so much in just one day. I am very happy and thankful for those teachers who planned such an impressive, interesting and fascinating trip to Anykščiai. Liepa Lengvinaitė, 12
  • 15. When I entered the fifth grade, I met a few of my new classmates. I knew one of my former classmate’s friends, so I sat next to her. The others were also former classmates, so they sat down with the person they knew best. There was often noise during the lessons, so the teacher decided to move seats, and it turned out that I also had to change my place. I sat next to a girl with whom I had never spoken. She was quiet but very creative, she drew so many funny and interesting pictures. Most of them were animals. Once, she drew a guinea pig and named it Potato. Soon, we started chatting more and more and became best friends. We used to talk so much that even the teacher had to ask us to stop talking and laughing. Maybe, that's why our seats were changed. Anyway, we still found ways to talk but not as much as we used to. Soon, I started hanging out with other girls in my class. Sadly, they often weren’t very nice to me and it made me feel bad. Of course, the girl I was sitting with tried to talk to me, but I usually ignored her. This is how we drifted apart from each other. I finally realized that she was the person I was meant to be friends with. Now I try to talk with her as much as possible, but I feel that it will never be the same again. Paulina Mažutytė, 12
  • 16. One winter day, I got up at 5.30, got ready and went straight to school. At 6.30 we started our journey to Vilnius. The journey was long – it took 4 hours! But I wasn't bored because I and my friend played many games and laughed so much that our bellies started hurting. Before we knew it, we were in Vilnius. First, I went to the Museum of Illusions and it was a lot of fun there. Then we toured the old town of Vilnius. After that, we could go to eat however we wanted, so we split into a few groups and wandered the roads. Later, we had to meet again in the Town Hall square. But the trip didn't end there – after getting back on the bus, we walked to Kaunas Town Hall Square. The Christmas tree, stars, tiny shops, snow, hot chocolate and waffle stops gave a warm Christmas feel. It was a very fun day that I will remember for a long time. Rūta Mileriūtė, 12
  • 18. From sweet and unforgettable memories I will evoke an incident, better said "a true story". The wind was blowing gently but it was a beautiful winter day. I had to go to school because there was a dramatization of the sketch "The Mystery of the Sea", the sketch I wrote and published in the school magazine. I kept thinking: will I have to speak louder or slower, if it's better to be serious or to smile?! I didn't even get to find answers to these questions, because I got to school. There was a great bustle in the performance hall, some preparing their costumes, others looking for their seats. I walked shyly on stage because I was the voice that presented the text. It was a puppet show. The lights went down, and I took my role seriously. Silence filled the entire hall, and my colleagues, began to applaud. Emotions scattered like the petals of a flower in the wind. I felt like a great actress, on one of the famous stages of the world, and the audience did not continue to applaud. Of course, it was a dream which every child has. The moment I was in front of my colleagues I felt comfortable, the emotions disappeared, and my voice seemed to be that of a nightingale. Those moments created a feeling of well-being for me, moments that I would like to repeat. This is a tab in a longer story with many sequences, with many mysteries. It will be the story of my life! Just as the sea has its secrets, my story will be full of mysteries and beautiful events! Gabriela Gherghișan, 13
  • 19. I remember as if it were yesterday: a wonderful summer day had appeared. The sun far too generously sent its spears of fire on the earth and the birds had hidden among the deep green leaves of the rich trees. The holiday was awaited by all the children, who were to be rewarded with prizes, according to their merit. We had to attend the awards ceremony, an emotional moment for me because I had worked hard and expected to find myself among the winners. The schoolyard was filled with the voices of hundreds of children, like the hum of bees in grandma's garden. The turn of our class has arrived. The lady conductor gave an emotional message and then began to call out the students who were commended. I was not among them, and as my colleagues with the second and third-place prizes were also called out I began to fear. Could I be the one with the first prize? Waves of heat washed over me, and my heart climbed into my throat. I did not find myself in the characterization made by the conductor, for the first prize, so I did not understand why I was applauded frantically by my parents and colleagues. I was the best! Since then, I work every school year to live up to the proposed expectations and relive the same emotions! Sara Maria Raftu, 15
  • 20. When I started first grade, in 2018, after I entered the school, I saw a big banner on the wall titled "Once upon a time...the sea". It starts like a story, I told myself. It was a European project aimed at students between 6 and 14. I was 7, but I was a beginner in English and I wanted to understand as much as possible, by myself. In September 2022, another banner appeared in our school: "Together, in harmony!”. I smiled, satisfied that I had stu- died English intensively for the past 3 years. On November 7, last year, teachers and students from partner schools, respectively from Italy, Spain, Turkey and Lithuania, came to visit us for a week. I also waited for the guests. I attended seminars. I was impressed by how beautifully the teachers and students complemented each other when presenting information about their schools. The children answered without fear of making mistakes. However, the most attractive activities for me remain the workshops. I was so happy for being part of a new group of students, coordinated by our lady teachers and I did what I knew best. First I performed a song (because I am recognized as talented!), I painted, I wrote a poem about friendship and enjoyed a flash mob and two trips. Honestly, I was fascinated by this meeting within the Erasmus+ project. Definitely, I was still very happy to be a student of this school, where there is a permanent concern for cooperative learning and our well-being. Petru Nectarie Ciobanu, 12
  • 21. It was the end of the semester and the end of the year. The cold had written me frozen messages on the window glass, and the trees looked like empty ghosts in the beating of the merciless snow. In this context, we decided, at the school level, to make the last day, before the winter vacation, an unforgettable one. My school looked like a castle from fairy tales. After participating in several activities, we made snowflakes and snowmen from crepe paper, painted and drew. We wrestled with lumps and played until at one point we heard a child cry. When we went to see what was going on, we had a big surprise. A little boy, about ten years old, entered the yard of our school, crying and begging us to help him. - What happened to you, child? asked our head teacher. - I'm very cold, I don't have thick clothes. I saw how nice you guys were playing and thought I'd come and ask for your help. -Where are your parents? - I'm an orphan... At that time, the school thought of giving the orphaned boy a home, a family and an identity. He became our classmate. This made me feel extraordinary and filled my heart with joy. I became friends with him from the first day. I knew he would fit in here at school very quickly because he has a good soul. I ndeed, that day was one of the most important and beautiful days for our school, as well as for me, because I learned one very important thing, which is that everyone deserves a second chance. • 22. The week dedicated to the activities of the Erasmus+ project, which brought together 24 representatives of partner schools from Spain, Italy, Turkey and Lithuania, was fast approaching. I was filled with great emotions, and they started when I was waiting for two colleagues from Italy, who were going to stay at my house. I discovered two smart, cute and funny girls. We were going to have beautiful moments together. My mother prepared, with great care, the traditional Romanian costume and braided two pigtails for me. Dad brought me a gorgeous crown of natural flowers. I was happy and emotional at the same time when I received the guests in front of the school with bread and salt. I accompanied them when they visited our school. Their smiles and curiosity gave me the impression that they liked it and were in the right place. All the activities that took place during that week were special and could not have been achieved without a lot of work from our teachers. I remember what my mother always tells me: that there is no education without a soul, and the teacher must offer a part of it to his students. We let ourselves be carried away in different types of extraordinary activities, in which joy, goodwill, practical activities, music and more were intertwined. Tiring? I didn't even feel when the time passed! I believe it was a week where the teachers saw learning through our eyes because each of us comes to school with his joys, but also with his sorrows. • 30. I don't like to wake up early in the morning but I woke up early that day and the alarm hadn't even sounded. A few minutes later, I was ready to leave home. We were going to go camping together with my teachers and friends and I was very excited. A month ago, our teacher informed us that a camp event would be organized by our school. I asked my mother if she gives me permission for going, too. She agreed and I felt like flying. The day has come and I was ready to hit the road. The bus arrived and got quickly. We sang songs and joked a long way. We finally arrived at the campsite. I and one of my friends decided to stay together in the same tent. For the first time, I was away from my family. Unfortunately our teacher chose another girl for me to stay with. I felt in a very bad mood. Later, we started to set up our tents. I fell asleep immediately because I was very tired. The next day the weather was beautiful. Then our teacher asked us to be ready for trekking in the forest. As I was walking happily, I suddenly realized that I was alone and started shouting. But nobody heard me. I started to cry. Then I heard someone's voice. They were calling my name. They noticed my absence and come back to look for me. My teacher said that the girl with who I was staying in the tent realized that I was missing and informed them. I hugged her and apologized. After that, we started playing games together, we sang songs and had fun. It was a great weekend for me. I thanked our teachers who gave us this opportunity and I decided to become a teacher in the future. Özgenaz Yazan-13
  • 31. After a long winter, spring finally came I saw an announcement on the school board telling me that there will be a big picnic event called "Welcome spring" to which all school students are invited. I immediately told my teacher that I wanted to attend this picnic. She said "okay". I felt happy because it was the first time in my life that I would attend such a big picnic event. After school, I went home and I told my mother, and she said to me she was very happy for me and she would prepare food and drink for the picnic. I was so excited and I almost couldn't sleep properly that night. On Friday, May 28th, at 8 a.m., we gathered in the school garden, got on the bus and we went to a beautiful place, a forest near Yalova. At the picnic, we played different games with our teachers and friends, then we had our lunch our we shared our food. Next, we discovered many kinds of birds, butterflies, and trees. The forest was covered with full of flowers. Everything was amazing. I was impressed by the beauty of nature. I had a lot of fun. Now, it was time to return home, I was a little sad to leave this beautiful place. I was very tired and happy. It was an unforgettable memory for me. I spent a peaceful day playing games that teach tolerance and love. I learnt to explore by respecting nature. Before sleeping, I thought that thank God for having these great schoolmates, friends and teachers. Aleyna Girgin-12
  • 32. Not too long ago on a cloudy day in November, we had a hiking trip to Kurtköy with my English teacher and my classmates. I woke up pretty early. When I arrived at the school where we met, our teacher told us that he had enough space for us all in his car. We quickly got ready and jumped in. I was so excited. I had my binoculars with me that day hoping to see some mesmerizing birds. I quickly remembered that there was a geocaching spot. We went and found a pill case. That's the way I marked my first geocache. We carried on with our hiking. The sight was beautiful. The orange leaves, the quiet stream of water, the cracking branches beneath our feet, everything was magnificent. After that, we went to a freshwater spring and filled our bottles. We also found some nuts. I collected them in a bag to bring home. We chatted as we made our way to the signature tree of the area. We also saw a couple of camping. Our teacher's friend came and told us about the mountain. After we were done hiking we sat at a cabin that our teacher built himself and had a wonderful picnic with a lovely conversation. Then, we decided to play some darts. The opposing team won but hopefully just this once... The opponent team won but I hope only this time. Before leaving, our teacher was kind enough to let us roast some marshmallows. On our way back we talked about music while listening to Metallica. All in all, I had a great time. I really hope I get to go hiking with them again. Alya Kosali -14
  • 33. I was excited that morning. I woke up early and I was ready for the big day. It was the 23rd of April, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. I was also full of joy because there was going to be a festival in the school garden. The spring had come, and the weather was sunny. When I arrived at the school, I saw many of my friends who were waiting with excitement. Some of our friends read poems and told stories about the meaning and importance of the day. We all performed our folk dance and were having fun. Then, our physical education teacher announced a competition which was called the sack race. It's a competitive game in which participants place both their legs inside a sack at a starting point. They try to go forward by hopping. The first that reaches the finish line is the winner. I was so happy to join this competition. I formed a team with my friends. When the audience applauded, we were motivated and we were trying to win. When we lost I was a little disappointed but we were sure, we would win the next time. The name of the other race was rope pulling. It is a game that pits two teams against each other. They pull on opposite ends of a rope, with the goal being to bring the rope a certain distance in one direction against the force of the opposing team's pull. It was a tough race. Our hands hurt but we won. We jumped, hugging each other. I won this competition with the support of my friends. I realized how important is to be surrounded by friends and teachers. We did great teamwork. Ayse Beren Demir -12
  • 34. As the school holidays approached, our science teacher taught us about the devastating effects of climate change. To encourage us to take action, he assigned us a project to protect nature. Our mission was to clean up our environment and collect waste. We put on our gloves and started filling garbage bags. Along the way, to our surprise, the people around us started to join in and express their gratitude. They thanked us for our efforts and said they were inspired by our teamwork. It was a moment of realization for us - if we all cooperated and kept nature clean, we could preserve it for future generations. As a result of our project, our teachers praised us, and we were rewarded with a day of trekking in nature with all the students in our school. During our trek, we cleaned up the seaside, picking up every piece of trash we saw. It was a challenging task, but we did it with enthusiasm and a sense of duty. As we worked to clean up the environment, it felt like nature was thanking us. We appreciated the importance of togetherness, unity, and love, and the positive impact it can have on our planet. In the end, our project not only helped us understand the importance of protecting our environment but also taught us the value of teamwork and perseverance. We were proud to be nature lovers and committed to continuing our work to keep our environment clean and healthy. Buğlem Özmen -13
