Chinese apps have been highly successful by combining multiple functions into single "super-apps", including payments, social media, and gaming. E-commerce in China is also thriving, with the annual Singles Day sales on Alibaba growing significantly each year. China leads in many innovative technologies like social media, e-commerce, drones, fintech, electric vehicles, and high-speed rail. To succeed, companies should learn from China's focus on scale, speed, dynamic business models, and user experience including gamification. The talk concludes by questioning if Western companies should copy aspects of China's innovation approach.
