2. Fox searchlight pictures Previous films: black swan, 127 hours, Juno, 28 days later and little miss sunshine. Suitable for horror/thriller genre? It has done a lot of horror films like Black Swan, 28 Days Later and Sunshine so it clearly has a history in the thriller esc genre meaning that it is known that experienced in the thriller genre. I might use this because searchlight was set up as an add on to 20th century fox so that it can make different genre and more out there films as part of the company. I might not use them because they have made a lot of films so but that doesn’t mean that they are the company to use.
3. New line cinema It has made quite a lot of horror/thriller films but not only that quite a lot of the big films in that certain genre for instance a Nightmare On Elm Street, Se7en, The Final Destination series and Friday The 13th. I might use this because there very well accomplished with in the horror/thriller department and this means that choosing them would mean that there are a lot of different things that they could use and bring to the table. I might not use this because it would be a large gamble as they are a relatively new company and there are possibly other companies with better CV’s in this department and not choosing them might be quite a big risk.
4. Paramount Pictures Previous films: Shutter island (2010), Shrek films, Lara croft tomb raider films and mission impossible films. Thriller connections: It has a very strong link to the horror industry and for instance it has really strong links with a lot of the bigger thriller films like shutter island which is one of the biggest films in this genre in the last few years. Why might I use this: I may use this because there are a lot of connections with a lot of the big films in this genre and this could bring in a lot of these things. I may not use this because: It has made a lot of more cheesy and kids films and serious films and this means that they may not be completely appropriate for the film that we are trying to make.
