The document discusses choosing an appropriate film institution to represent a crime fiction film. It considers several major film studios like Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks, Universal Studios, Miramax Films, and 20th Century Fox. DreamWorks is rejected because its animated films do not match the genre. Miramax Films produced similar crime films but is no longer active. Ultimately, 20th Century Fox is selected as it has a long history of producing diverse, high-quality films that would help attract audiences to a crime fiction film.

2.  Being a crime fiction film we need to either use an institution that is very diverse and wide spread (to allow better
circulation and media e.g. “buzz” about our film or a institution that in specialises in just crime fiction. It was hard for our
researcher Charlie green as not a lot of Film class themselves as crime fiction , they class them self's as thriller/crime films
which is essentially what we are. Therefore in looking at examples we looked at the films that looked similar to our and not
just at there genre hence why we have influences from films like the “Fall “ (which is a fantasy action film). This meant that
in looking at different institutions had a wide variety to chose from.
Paramount pictures make, films that are the big
and successful . A few films they have made
are: Hugo (adventure ,family, drama), Puss in
boots (adventure family film) and Paranormal
Activity 3(Horror ,thriller ,action) . These are
recent highly popular films that are a mix of
genre . To use this institution would suggest
that we would be a good film to see due to its
reputation . Thus why this was Charlie and the
groups first choice before it was changed .

3. We chose not to really consider dream works as our institution but o evaluate
it anyway .This is because the type of films that DreamWorks produce and our
film are not alike. Some of the films that DreamWorks have produced are:
Shrek, Monsters v.s. Aliens and Kung Fu Panda which are animations and
suitable for children and families which is not what we are/ were aiming for if
we used this institution then it would mislead our audience as they may think
that as DreamWorks has worked on this film, that it's going to be a certain
type of film (light-hearted and fun) which it is most certainly not !
Some of the films Universal Studios make are: Cowboys and Aliens, Larry Crowne and Tower Heist
which are a mix of action and thriller films mad recently. These films are successful in being a good
film however in our day and age they aren't as well known which would suggest that the institution is
not as big as Paramount Pictures which if this was to be a real movie, it may not get the same
publicity as it would if we used Paramount or 20th century fox . On the other hand, 'Universal Studios'
sounds big and powerful which is a bit like out institution's name 'Gravitational Studios' so it would
seem they would go well together and sound more like a close partnership.

4. Miramax film films produced the film pulp fiction which was closely looked
At by myself . This film was close to what we aimed for , a gangster crime
fiction film With a different directing feel , and use of juxtaposition which we
used (shown in the calm Man and woman having breakfast 1 second and then
robbing the shop the next) . Miramax also represented the future using the
city as a back drop in it opening , which is similar to our aims as we hoped to
portray and urban film noir feel however , this institution is now closed and
therefore could not be used and so it was ruled out buy myself.
the institution Taken has used is 20th Century Fox. ( The reason we felt so
strongly about Takens institution is because it was one of the very first trailer
we looked at and has effect out film progression in the early stages as talked
about in question 1 and other blogging ) This institution will be the one we use
the reason for this is because 20th Century Fox is very successful and produces
a wide variety of films that are wide spread well established and influential
like Taken for example. I believe this would well represent us as a film. This
institution has been around for a very long time -since it was founded on May
31th 1935 by William Fox, it has proven its self to be one of the best institution
in the world producing high quality films and building a wide audience to
which would be interesting in our film just because of our institution.
