Mental Attitude: Child's Popularity May Depend on Understanding Others. A new report claims that children who are tuned-in
to what others want, think, and feel are more popular in school than those who aren't as good at understanding others. An analysis of
20 studies that included almost 2,100 children reveals a strong link between popularity and being able to figure out what others think
and feel. The findings suggest that this ability is important for making friends at an early age and maintaining friendships as children
get older. Study leader Dr. Virginia Slaughter adds, "Our findings suggest that training children to be sensitive to others' thoughts and
feelings may improve their relationships with peers… This may be particularly important for children who are struggling with
friendship issues, such as children who are socially isolated." Child Development, April 2015

hospital and found that those who received CRP from bystanders were 40% more likely to later rejoin the workforce. Study leader Dr.

performing it… When a bystander performs CPR quickly, it helps ensure enough oxygen is getting to the brain, which can help

Diet: Certain Body Building Supplements May Be Linked to Testicular Cancer. Men who use muscle-building supplements
containing creatine or androstenedione may have a higher risk of developing testicular cancer. Researchers interviewed 900 men (356
of whom had testicular cancer) and found that those who used the supplements had a 65% greater chance of a testicular cancer
diagnosis than those who did not. The research team concludes, "Considering the magnitude of the association and the observed dose-
response trends, muscle-building supplement use may be an important and modifiable exposure that could have important scientific
and clinical importance for preventing testicular germ cell cancer development if this association is confirmed by future studies."

achieving 150 minutes per week of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity experienced significant improvements in regards to sleep
quality, depression, and anxiety. Journal of Sleep Research, April 2015
Chiropractic: Poor Ergonomics Hurt Teen Computer Users Too. Poor computer workstation ergonomics have been associated
with an increased risk for musculoskeletal pain among adults in an office environment, but is the same true for teenagers? Researchers
followed nearly 200 adolescents without musculoskeletal pain for one year and found that 34.2% went on to report pain in their upper
back, neck, shoulders, and/or head during the yearlong study. A postural analysis found that those who experienced the greatest
amount of pain were the students most likely to look downwards to view their computer screen. The researchers recommend that
schools focus on adjusting monitor heights so that students can operate their computers while looking straight ahead.
