4. Strategic Innovations for Learning
Engagement
Gamification is the buzz word of business and education at the
moment and is widely misunderstood. The Strategic Innovations team
at Curtin Teaching and Learning have embraced game-like challenge-based
learning as one of the key drivers of the university’s
Transformation of Teaching and Learning. The team is involved in
national and international developments around Digital Badging,
Challenge-based Learning, Personalisation of Learning, Learning
Analytics, Serious Games and other innovative approaches to
drive student engagement, improve student achievement and student
and employer satisfaction.
This workshop will offer practical engagement and rich insights into
some of these innovations including Curtin’s new Challenge platform,
analytics strategies, and serious games in the classroom.
