2. In my opinion I have learnt a lot in my progression from the
preliminary to the final task. To begin with, the masthead for my
preliminary looked childish and unfitting to the magazines style
whereas my final product had a title that not only fit the genre
but fit onto the product instead of just sitting on top of the
pictures.
3. Also, I think that have learnt how to organise my features better as on my preliminary
the taglines on the contents page didn't fit correctly with the background
colours, didn't have a fitting font and looked scruffy and unprofessional on the page
whereas the cover for my final task fits together well, with an organised and
structured layout, the font is the correct colour to match the background and fits in
well with the title font and the overall style of the magazine. The contents page of my
preliminary also looks very haphazardly thrown together, without any organisation or
audience research concerning what they would prefer it to look like.
4. The contents page for my final piece is again organised, the colour scheme matches
that of the front cover to show that the two are linked and that there has been
thought and consideration into what they should look like. This project had taught me
to pay full attention into getting detailed audience research as this gives you a solid
base line of what your product should look like and what you should avoid, and failing
to do this can leave your product looking unprofessional, untidy and nothing like what
the target audience have asked for.
5. My front covers are very different as the image on my first one looks barely
related to the topics on the cover. Although there is someone in the school
uniform, she is clearly not paying attention and isn't taking part in any of the
activities mentioned on the cover. The image on my final piece cover on the
other hand, is much more involved. We can see that he is linked to the story
because not only does he have the band name over him but he is looking
directly at the camera, showing that he is there for a specific purpose.
6. My contents pages also vary very strongly from each other. The contents page
for my preliminary doesn't have any obvious structure. Although the pages
are numbered, none of the issues match the front and there is not real like to
any of the images on either of the pages. My final piece contents page is the
opposite of this as you can clearly see that Magdalena is linked with not only
a piece but an important one as she is the only image. Also, my pages are
separated into different sections of interest to make it easier for the reader.
