2. Correlation is reciprocal relationship with various subjects of curriculum.
Knowledge does not work in isolation.
Correlation of different subjects is very essential for achieving whole knowledge
It makes learning interesting and natural.
Educational scheme emphasizes on correlation of different school subjects among
themselves and also correlation with life.
Correlation is based on the principle that various subjects contribute in child’s
education, understand environment and carry out more better and meaningful activities.

3. Integration of knowledge.
Expands knowledge of subject (here science).
Connecting one subject with another subject or situation helps to understand
importance of particular subject.
Increases interest, motivates child to learn subject.
Widens mental horizon, develops reasoning ability and logical thinking of student.
Helps in effective learning as same topic is dealt in different situations.

4. If particular concept is learned and correlated in 2 or 3 different situation it will help
student to transfer learning from one situation to another.
Correlation can simplify the syllabus by placing one particular topic of one specific
subject and correlating with various subjects.
Correlation helps students student to correlate subject with life.

2) Science and History
To explain life history of scientist, story of discovery or invention science needs help of history.
Carbon dating a strong evidence in history needs help of science.
3) Science and Civics
Science teaches about health, hygiene and keeping society clean. Hygiene and cleanliness are
character’s of responsible civilian or citizen.
4) Science and Geography
In Geography topics like pressure, temperature, etc. are from Science.

6. 5) Science and Maths
Science cannot proceed without numbers.
Eg. Physics – formulae, derivations, numericals.
Chemistry - chemical equations, numericals.
Biology – problems related to genetics.
6) Science and Drawing
For drawing diagrams in science there is need of drawing skills.
7) Science and Craft
To explain scientific concepts teacher makes use of different models which are
made with the help of art and craft knowledge.

7. 1) Physics and Chemistry
While learning thermodynamics (Chemistry) we come across concepts like heat,
temperature and energy (Physics).
While learning Astrophysics (Physics) we try to learn chemical composition
(Chemistry) of planets and stars.
2) Chemistry and Biology
Chemical reactions (Chemistry) in cells or body (Biology).
DNA (Biochemistry) and genetics (Biology).
3) Physics and Biology
Blood (Biology) pressure (Physics) of human body.
Structure of human eye (Biology) and focal length of eyes related to lenses (Physics).
