2. TRACKS:
• A camera dolly may be used as a shooting platform on a track,
to create smooth movement on a horizontal axis known as a
dolly shot.
3. ADVANTAGES:
• It gives a swift movement, which creates a seamless look.
• It is very good for tracking shots.
• Good for corridors as it can fit their perfectly.
• It can give a subtle but effective look.
4. DISADVANTAGES:
• Sometimes space can be a restriction, as it can seem quite big
in small spaces.
• They only go forward and cannot turn corners, which can be a
problem in filming as we may want to go around a corner to try
something different, instead of going forward.
• It is very time – consuming to set up, and also to put away
afterwards.
5. USING THE TRACKS:
• We could use the tracks to create a simple swift
movement for a shot, especially in a school, which is
where some of our shots will be taken.
6. SNOW MACHINE:
• This snow machine is perfect for creating a magical winter scene, especially
with its high output and large snow volume.
7. ADVANTAGES:
• As most of our filming may be taken during November and
December, there may be snow. Therefore, to keep shots
consistent if snow were to melt, it may be useful to use a snow
machine.
8. DISADVANTAGES:
• The snow coming out of the snow machine is poisonous,
especially to asthma sufferers. Moreover, it can fill up the room,
leading to it becoming difficult to breathe and possibly
suffocation.
9. CRANE:
• In filmmaking and video production, a crane shot is a shot taken
by a camera on a crane. This is useful because many different
shots can be taken from different angles.
10. • The jib arm on the crane will allow you to increase and decrease
the height of the crane, meaning many different angles can be
achieved.
• Shots can be made unique.
• There is a higher standard and quality of shots when using the
crane.
ADVANTAGES:
11. DISADVANTAGES:
• Takes ½ hours to set up, and at least 4 to 5 people to transport it in the beginning
and the end of filming.
• Three people at least will be needed when the crane is in use. One person should be
holding the stick to control the movement of the crane and controlling the remote
control. The other should be in the middle guiding the crane and stabilising it. And
then a third person should be there to make sure the camera is in the right position,
and that everything is fitted on properly and not becoming loose throughout filming.
• The crane is very heavy.
• Hands, fingers and arms can easily be caught in the pinch points of the crane, which
could lead to serious injury.
12. USING THE CRANE:
• We could use the crane to create unique and beautiful shots
that are effective and can capture the audience.
• Moreover, using the crane could help our trailer look more
professional and high - end, very similar to big film companies.
