Multi cam analyse
What is a multi cam production?
• A multi camera is used for two reasons a particle and aesthetic. People s it
as a quicker and easier way to film, as there is more than one camera at the
same time. They are usually fixed cameras fixed cameras used inside sets
with to or more cameras which Are cut between live and ‘as live’ to cover
an event.
• Advantage- there is more than one view of the shot that is being filmed. It is
good for replying in slow motion with live events such as sporting events. If
something where to happen unexpectedly, there would be a higher chance
it was caught on camera. It is a quicker way to film something as you are
using more than one camera to shoot the same scene but from different
angles. And lastly all the shot are being shot at the same time so noting will
be out of place or change when you are watching it.
• Disadvantages- for certain shots such as over the shoulder shot you would
have to use a single camera as you could see the other camera in the
background over he other persons shoulder which will then ruin the effect
of the scene. When filming in a location you would need to carry a lot of
equipment and it takes longer to set up than a single camera production
would.

camera.html
I'm a celebrity get me out of hear
• I'm a celebrity get me out of hear uses a lay out which allows all the cameras to cover the different angles of everyone who
is in the jungle and also shows different angles of all the trials that they have to do. This allows the production team to
catch everything that is happening over the 24 hour time period and also allow them to get them in different angles which
will help make the program more interesting for the viewers who are watching. As well as just having normal cameras on
the ground they have one on a jib and also a camera on a crane to allow for higher shoots of the surroundings and also the
presenters. As well as having standing cameras they also have moving camera men, who can move into any position to
allow them to achieve the impossible shots.
• Then trying to cover all the action, it is normally planed out a day in advance as they will be filming the following day, also
they will have to plan in advance how they are going to be covering the live trials so that the audience gets the full
experience. This is good because they the camera crew and production team will know what to do and then what to do
next after the break. However if something unexpected was to happen then the camera crew may not know what to do.
• Visual style, in I’m a celebrity the back drop of the show is the Australian jungle. This has an impact towards the audience as
it allows them to know that it isn't just the camp mate that are in the jungle but everyone else as well.
• Maintaining the viewers interest, the I'm a celebrity team use a who range of ideas to not only keep the viewers interested
but also the camp mates as they give them trials for food and home comforts that aren't always as easy as they seem.
• Multi-camera simultaneously recording this means that the cameras are always on in the jungle, so that they don’t miss
anything and allows them to capture everything that is going on. Although the cameras are on at night they are still
operated by people that are in hiding so that someone can make sure that the cameras battery is sill working and also hey
can pan and zoom in for some shots to allow the viewers to have every angle of what is going on 24 hours a day.
• Communication with the viewer, in I am a celebrity get me out of hear there is a room where they are allow to keep video
diary and talk about anything they want this allows the viewer to have a connection and allow them to se how they are
feeling and coping with what is going on in camp.
• Constraints of the studio or environment. Although the back drop of the jungle is pretty and interesting to look at there can
be some complications with it, for example if it rains then the camera lenses will al be wet and hard to see anything out of
also if omen is shooting something up a tree or through a bush then the leaves or plant growth may obstruct and grow in
front of the cameras making the footage unfit to use.
Olympics
• Coverage of the action: The events are filmed live, which may cause a dilemma as the crew will not
know what will happen or what is expected to happen. However, the event is only going to happen once
so the camera crew have to be ready and make sure that the cameras are focused ad on point for the
event. The cameras will need to be focused on the event and everyone competing in the event so that
the viewer gets to whiteness the whole event and sometime history in the making, this allows the
audience to feel like they are there as well cheering them on.
• Communication meaning to the viewer: as the event is taking place or s about to there is cameras on the
athlete, this is done so it can show everyone what they may be thinking or feeling at that moment in
time. Also there is screens up around the stadium so that everyone who is in the stadium can watch and
cheer on for their country.
• Visual style: the Olympics used the edges of the screens to hold what position people where in so that
everyone knows where each county comes in the event and also they use it to help describe what the
event is and how it works in terms of scoring.
• Maintain the viewer’s interest: the Olympics will maintain the interest of the views as there is a sporting
event for everyone however, it is how the production tam chooses to portray and film the event is to if
the viewer is interested thought the event.
• Constraints of the studio and the location of the environment; not al the events will be recorded in the
same way or lace, which means that different events will be taking place at the same time. Also the
stadiums are built around the sport meaning that there might not be any room for the crew and all their
equipment which may mean that the event may not be covered as well as the others.
• Multi-camera simultaneous recording: this means that all the cameras are going to be on which allows
the camera and production crew to get the little details of the events on camera. This is a good thing as
it means that there will be nothing missed and everyone around the world can watch history in the
making.
