3. Main Camera - Sony hxr-nx30e
The camera that we will be using is the Sony hxr-
nx30e. This will be our main camera and will be the
camera the we will be using for all our main shots from
start to finish. The Camera, having done a lot of
research on it, has got very good reviews. I watched a
detailed video review on the camera.The video is well
detailed and shows the use of the camera to make a
film. This was great to be able to see the way the
camera is used and the best way to do so. In addition
to the good things about the camera are that its light
weight so it its easy to carry round. It fits well on all
tripods and is well priced for students. The perks of the
camera are that it has a microphone on the top and is
HD and 6.650 has mega pixels.

4. Tripod – What does it do and why is it
useful to us?
• The tripod will once again be a very useful piece of kit for
us. The tripod will allows us to keep the camera fixed and
stationary. This therefore avoids the camera causing
unnatural movements that could be caused if we solely
held the camera and filmed our short film. To add to this
the tripod can also be moved around for any moving shots
and can also have other pieces of equipment strapped to
it such as a slider which is used for panning shots.

5. Lighting equipment
• The lighting equipment that we will be using is fairly basic.
We will be using one light screen that will help intensify
the lighting which will help to see the characters properly
and the overall shots.

6. Gopro camera
• The Gopro camera will be used to film the security
camera footage that will be used in the film. The reason
why we will be using this instead of a normal camera is
that a normal camera will capture the scene in high
definition, we don’t want this as we want to give the
illusion that it is a security camera. In addition to this the
Gopro camera can also be placed wherever we want it to
which is the top corner of the lift in our case. The suction
cup allows us to stick it wherever we like.
