2. ‘An image editing software developed and manufactured by
Adobe Systems Inc. Photoshop is considered one of the leaders
in photo editing software. The software allows users to
manipulate, crop, resize, and correct colour on digital photos.’ –
Business Dictionary.
3. ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP
• It can help to improve the quality of a photograph.
• It can change an image completely for example it could be used to
change an image to high – key lighting to low – key lighting, which is a
dramatic difference.
4. DISADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP
• It can be hard for a beginner, as it can be quite hard to get used to. This
can be overcome by simple practices, and learning how to use
Photoshop.
• Photoshop is not free, but it is extremely useful that our school already
has it. This can still be a problem as that means for us to use Photoshop
at home we would need to pay for it, so we have limited access to it as it
is only available to most people at school.
5. USING PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop will be very useful to our coursework for producing our
ancillary task of a film poster and film magazine front cover, as it will allow
us to edit the poster and magazine the way we want to match our genre
of a teen thriller. For example, in Photoshop we could darken the images
by reducing the light of the image to make our images look as if they are
taken in low – key lighting, to give a dark and mysterious feel.
