Camera movement is one of the most expressive tools available to a
filmmaker. It alters the relationship between the subject and the camera
frame, shaping the viewer's perspective of space and time and
controlling the delivery of narrative information.

6. Tilt
◦ Camera movement in a vertical plane. (up or down), which means to
gradually point the camera up or down.
7. Tilt
◦If you want to show a tall building but you can't get it
all in your shot, you might start at the bottom of the
building and go up to the top

◦A shot taken moving on a horizontal plane (from left
to right, right to).
9. Pan
◦ If you want to show a Frisbee flying across a field, you might
use this shot to follow the Frisbee from one person to
another.

for making your picture have a wider view.

◦ A platform on wheels, on which a camera can be placed in
order to allow more freedom of movement during filming.

◦In Horror movies whenever director wants to show
that ghost is attacking or approaching.
15. Dolly vs. Zoom
DOLLY
◦The camera is being
moved in a physical
space.
ZOOM
◦The camera remains at a
constant position, but
the lens magnify or
minimize the size of the
subject.
16. Dolly Counter Zoom
◦A dolly counter zoom is a rare type of shot of great
stylistic effect. To accomplish it, the camera has to
dolly (move) closer or further away from the subject
while the zoom is adjusted so the subject’s size
remains about the same.
17. Truck and Track
◦ Moving a camera in a lateral line, left or right while keeping
the lens pointed in same direction.
18. Arc
◦ Camera moving on the curved dolly track.
◦ It is a shot in which the subject is circled by the camera.

20. Crane or Boom

23. Pedestal V.s. Tilt
◦ Pedestal is different to a camera tilt.
◦ Which means the camera is in the same position but tilts the angle of view.
◦ Where as in Ped movement whole body of camera moves up and down.
