Jeshy tells her friend Fred about her trip to live on land with her cousin. She describes seeing colorful flying birds in the sky but notes the sky looked gray and polluted. She encountered a large creature with horns eating grass, but the grass was dirty. Jeshy's cousin said it was difficult to breathe on land and his family may return to living under the water. Both Jeshy and Fred agree they prefer living under the water where it is cleaner with fresh food, rather than on the polluted and difficult to breathe land.
2. Under the water, there lived two close friends Fred and Jeshy. Recently Jeshy has been to her cousin’s house which is out of the water, on the land. Fred: Hey, Jeshy! I have been missing you. How was your trip to the land? Jeshy: Hi, Fred. It was awesome. I have seen a lot of interesting things. Fred: I can’t wait to listen to the story about living on the land. Jeshy: Okay. Why not? Fred: What did you see there? I heard there are flying things. Have you seen them? Jeshy: Sure.
3. Jeshy: There were a lot of flying creatures in the sky. They had big and colorful wings and feathers. But I have found one strange thing. Fred : What is that? Jeshy: Uhm... I don’t know why exactly but the color of the sky looked weird. Fred : How weird? Jeshy: The sky was gray but it didn’t look clean and clear. Fred : Really? I have heard that the world out there has been polluted by uncontrolled industrial development. I didn’t know that is true. Jeshy: I didn’t know, either.
4. Fred: Haven’t you met any other funny creatures there? Jeshy: Oh! I ‘ve bumped into a funny- looking guy. He was huge and had big horns on his forehead. Fred: k..k..(giggle) It sounds funny. Big horns on the head? Jeshy: But you know, he was eating grass. Fred: Grass? Not meat? Jeshy: No. Just grass. However, the grass didn’t look fresh. I mean it was covered with a lot of dirt and dust. Fred : Yuck! Have you tried to eat it? Jeshy: Noway!! Never.
5. Fred : That doesn’t sound very funny. Anyway how’s your cousin? Jeshy: He’s okay. He’s been a little busy studying a lot of things, though. He said his family might come back here to live because out there has been too dark and hard to breathe. Fred : Really? I hope he comes back soon. Jeshy: Me, too. Then we can go swimming race together. Fred : Yeah~ I don’t think I would like to live on the land.
6. Jeshy: Me, either. Fred : Yeah~ Here under water is clean and we have a lot of fresh and delicious food. And we don’t need to study all day. Jeshy: You can say that again. I love to live here though we don’t have flying and funny creatures with big horns here. Fred : You’re right. Do you want to go swimming race? Jeshy: Why not? Let’s go! The End
