A basic sentence has a subject and a predicate with a noun and verb. Students need to understand sentence structure like subjects, predicates, verbs and objects to start writing compositions. Descriptive words can then be added to make sentences more interesting. Well-organized paragraphs with topic, supporting and concluding sentences are also important for creative writing.

24. Cats love eating! They are not very particular about
the type of food they eat but tend to prefer fish and rice.
One thing is certain though, they want to be fed at
regular meal times. Cats always know when it is time to
eat and will pester their owners relentlessly for their
specially prepared fish and rice.
Although cats are considered very clean animals, they
still need to be groomed by their owners. Cats can be
bathed in warm soapy water once a week in order to
keep their fur shiny and bug-free. Once dry,
the cat’s fur can then be brushed with
a metal pet brush to remove tangles.
Most cats will try to escape
having a bath but totally
enjoy the brushing they receive
afterwards!
