United International Pictures (UIP) was formed in 1981 and has since distributed over 1,000 films, including more than 100 Academy Award winners under license from its partners worldwide. UIP is partnered with Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, two of the largest film studios, and distributes their films outside of North America through its distribution headquarters and third-party licensees in 59 countries total.
