Sierra Joint Community College District
Manager: Parking, Security and Residence Life
Rocklin, CA — November 1, 2009 - December 31, 2013
Responsible for all aspects of the District’s Parking, Security, Residence Life
and Emergency Management departments. Managed budget, planned and
developed goals, coordinated training activities, supervised and scheduled
security officers and built relationships with on and off campus entities.
Accomplishments
● Modernized practices and utilized technology increasing efficiencies
for department staff.
● Created and implemented Emergency Operations Plan for entire
District.
● Coordinated District-wide training sessions on personal safety and
emergency response.
● Supervised and directed work of security personnel and support staff.
● Improved customer service metrics for the Parking and Security
department through staff training and outreach efforts.
● Created monthly safety bulletins to help students and staff increase
personal safety and to promote department activities.
● Developed partnerships with campus groups in order to receive
feedback to increase security in their respective areas.

Responsible for all aspects of the District’s Residence Life program, including
the department budget and student conduct. Also coordinated all “out of
classroom” educational programs and activities.
Accomplishments
● Increased occupancy for Residence Halls by analyzing demographics
and trends which helped identify target populations for marketing
efforts and by improving customer service.
● Mediated numerous conflicts and de-escalated situations on a regular
basis.
● Participated in a number of shared governance committees and
activities.
● Built partnerships with on and off campus groups to improve the
impression of the Residence Halls with local community members.
● Partnered with local law enforcement to reduce criminal activity in the
Residence Halls.
● Earned trust of senior management and was rewarded with increased

Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and English — 1995-2000
Double majored in Psychology and English. Worked as a Resident Assistant
(RA) in the Residence Halls. Served as a student representative on the CSU,
Sacramento Foundation Board of Directors from 1996-2000.
Gavilan College
Transfer/General Education — 1993-1995
Completed general education courses and transferred to CSU, Sacramento in
two years while working part time.
