  1. Good afternoon. Welcome to this workshop examining the Australian Government’s work on sustainable agriculture and our current policy and future developments in this area.
  2. We’ll be hearing from three speakers today who present on the following topics: Alexandra Gartmann - Precision agriculture and how social media and modern communication technology is used in agriculture and in Landcare. Moragh Mackay - Bass Coasts Landcare network model - what works, how we got there, challenges and opportunities for Landcare. Naomi Wilson - Barkly Landcare science and planning and supporting Landcare and best practice pastoral land management. A 30 minute facilitated question, answer and discussion session will follow and I look forward to your thoughts and comments. I’ll now invite our first speaker Alex who will be followed by Moragh and Naomi.
