In order to prepare our students to be innovative and out-of-the box thinkers, we must provide opportunities for them to try new things and explore areas of interest outside of the classroom. That is where the media commons comes in. In addition to supporting the learning that happens as part of the curriculum, it also supports the whole growth of the student by providing additional support tools. Like…
Providing places where students can explore beyond the community…like an augmented and virtual reality center equipped with the tools needed to have virtual in person conference, virtual fieldtrips, or other immersive learning experiences.
Places where people can share ideas…like our amphitheater which in addition to our large open theater space, there are private alcoves where small groups can meet to exchange ideas or brainstorm.
Our Gaming Center provides a place where students can socialize while learning through play.
The digital Database Center is a place where students and community members can research their ideas and have access to hundreds of resources so they can explore their interests.
Of course there are spaces where students can create either digitally or physically.
Of course our space will also have information specialists so learners can find support to guide them through their information and knowledge searches.
