● El presente simple en inglés sólo tiene dos
formas:
○ la del infinitivo: work, play
○ infinitivo + s en tercera persona singular: works,
plays
● Para hacer negaciones y preguntas siempre
necesitamos el auxiliar “do”
5. THIRD PERSON SINGULAR
● En general, se añade “-s”
○ Mary reads a book
○ John rides a bicycle
● Si el verbo acaba en -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o, se
añade “-es”
○ She misses her parents
○ he washes the dirty clothes

○ Rachel fixes the computer
○ She goes home
6. THIRD PERSON SINGULAR
● Verbos que acaban en “-y”
○ Si el verbo acaba en vocal + y se añade “-s”
■ he plays football ( play--- plays)
■ she buys bread (buy--- buys)
○ si el verbo acaba en consonante + y se
transforma en “-ies”
■ Mary studies English (study --- studies)
■ Paul never cries (cry --- cries)

● El presente simple en inglés se usa para
expresar:
○ lo que hacemos habitualmente
■ We come to school from Monday to Friday
○ lo que nos gusta y lo que no
■ I like pizza
■ I don’t like horror films
○ opiniones
■ He thinks that maths is easy
9. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
● Se colocan delante del verbo, exceptuando
el verbo “to be”
○ We always come to class on time
○ My parents usually go to the cinema
○ John often plays tennis
○ They sometimes eat pizza
○ We are never late
10. EXPRESSIONS OF FREQUENCY
● La pregunta es How often?

● Se colocan al final de la frase
