Tasks and Responsibilities:
Facilitate compliance audits as part of the Safety Risk Management (SRM) system, including Minimum
Operating Safety Standards (MOSS) and Safely Level System (SLS) audits.
Training of local staff and mentoring of Local Safety Officers (LSOs) and Safety Focal Points (SFPs),
including Personal Awareness and Safety Training, staff inductions, and training on Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs)
Assist in the implementation of safety management policies, protocols and procedures, including Safety
Improvement Plans
Facilitate programme access and continuity through the provision of dependable advice, weekly sit-
reps, and safety advisories, as needed
Maintain relevant safety documentation, data and records, including training registers and incident
inquiries and reporting
Coordinate the country level Incident Management Team (IMT) and support Area IMTs
Represent the DRC/DDG Kenya programmes within inter-agency fora as related to safety issues
Regularly monitor the organization’s Motor Vehicles using the established tracking system.
Visit the field offices every 2 months and review the MOSS in liaison with the Field Managers.
Any other duties as directed by the Country Director
ACHIEVEMENTS
-Improved MOSS compliance in all stations to acceptable standards to over 80%
-Increased the number of staff trained in PAST so as to enable them to travel in hostile areas
-improved the security information access to the management to help in decision making.
-I have formulated most of the security policies and written the CIMPS.
-I have improved relations with the main security players including the police.
-I have played a key role in offering security support throughout our regional offices.

Duties include:-
Training Facilitation.
Deliver classroom inputs and facilitate dynamic and interesting training courses as
directed by INSO-Somalia in facilitation of following courses
Hostile Environment Individual Safety Training (HEIST)
Country Director/Security Focal Point Training
Emergency Medical Training packages
Other Duties:-
Organize training logistics, prepare training schedules, and be responsible for
advertising. Advance planning & preparation for courses in conjunction with the
Training Assistant.
Promote the development of new training courses with the Training Manager in line with
adult Learning methodologies. Take full charge of the organization and facilitation of
some of the training planning and delivery. When requested by the Training Manager.
Monitor course feedback systems.
In conjunction with the Training Manager further develop course appraisal and
feedback systems.
Provide logistic support.
Responsible for the production of training presentations, course programs, facilitator
notes, lesson plans and aids as directed by the Training Manager.
Elaborate and guide the strategy.
Participate proactively to the development and delivery of INSO-Somalia strategy.
Responsible for the capitalization of training notes and materials and the
development of the INSO-Somalia institutional memory.
