Chicago Bear Today Research Paper
Chicago Bears Today vs. 1985 The Chicago Bears are a completely different team today than they
were in 1985. The Bears today do not have the caliber of players. The stats are a big factor in
proving my point. From passing to receiving yards and even rushing. In the following paragraphs, I
will highlight some of the stats from 1985 and some from today's teams. In today's games, the stats
are not very impressive. The Bears current starting QB is Matt Berkley. Completing only 129 passes
for 1611 yards is not an impressive feat in the NFL. He has only thrown 8 touchdowns and 14
interceptions. The leading receiver, Cameron Meredith, has 66 catches for 888 yards. He has
fumbled the ball 3 times and lost the ball twice during those 3 fumbles. His

Concussions : The Dangers Of Concussions In The NFL
The Danger Hall of fame football coach John Madden once said: "They're on the right road, but
there's a long way to go on concussions." The National Football League (NFL) is doing something
about concussions, but it is not enough. In the NFL, there needs to be more player safety because of
the immediate dangers of concussions and the increased chance of Chronic Traumatic
Encephalopathy (CTE) and other mental diseases arising later in a player's life. The immediate
dangers of concussions call for more appropriate safety measures to be taken by the NFL. According
to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, "a concussion is an injury to the brain that
results in temporary loss of normal brain function."(AANS) The most common symptoms are
confusion, dizziness, headaches, and memory loss all of which can be lifelong effects. Concussions
are a serious injury because they can damage the brain; therefore, there needs to be a way to limit
blows to the head that cause concussions. If a player or anyone for that matter gets a high number of
concussions, the life they live will be affected negatively. A report published by the NFL states that
the number of concussions in 2016 was 244. That is a decline from 2012 when there were 261
concussions. The decline illustrates that there has been some progress in reducing the amount of
concussions in the NFL, but there still are 244 players being exposed to the symptoms that can occur
for their whole lives. The NFL needs to do more to

Rhetorical Analysis Of Coach Brook's Pentad
A miracle on ice happened during the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. These Olympic games were
being held in the midst of the Cold War and ironically the finalists in men's hockey were hosting a
war of their own. A battle for the gold medal was taking place and the two teams battling for glory
were the underdog USA team and the best team in the world, the Soviets/Team Russia. This specific
game is one of legend because it really was a "miracle on ice" watching the underdog USA team
defeat the untouchable Soviets. The main purpose of this study is to examine the infamous locker
room speech given to the United States men's hockey team by Coach Herb Brooks. This speech can
be analyzed by many different rhetorical theories but this paper will focus on Kenneth Burke's
dramatism pentad. Burke's pentad encompasses five points: agent, agency, act, scene, and purpose
(ADD CITATION). All of these units to the pentad will play a significant role in analyzing Coach
Brook's speech because they are all presented in this act of rhetoric.
Justification
Communication and rhetoric in sports has always been an interest to communication scholars.
Analyzing the communication used in Coach Brook's locker room speech lets one understand how
Burke's pentad makes it all work. Burke's pentad originated, "as a tool used to systematically
dismantle and understand the bases of human conduct and motivation"(Ling, 1969, p. 81). This
analysis relies heavily on motivation and why the speaker is doing what

Playoff opponents are like ice cream flavors. They're all good, each with its own distinctive strength.
The New York Giants have four potential opponents in the wild–card round of the postseason: the
Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks. All are dangerous. All are
winning teams deserving of their playoff position.
Eli Manning will take whatever playoff matchup the Giants get, but he 'd be wise to root for
something other than a visit to Seattle. Al Bello/Getty Images
The Giants already have faced two, beating the Lions at MetLife Stadium late in the season and
losing to the Packers at Lambeau Field early in the season. That factors into the equation of best and
worst matchups for Big Blue in the opening round of the postseason. So should the current form of
each team and its health.
Locked in as the No. 5 seed, the Giants are going to play the division winner with the worst record
in the NFC on the road. That doesn't necessarily mean they will play the worst division winner or
the opponent that gives them the best chance to win. Matchups are everything this time of year.
Some stadiums are more hostile environments than others. Seattle falls into that category.
Here is how I rank the potential opponents, in terms of which team the Giants should most want to
face in their first

Lovie Smith's Propaganda In College Football
"Sunny and 75 with bright blue skies today is a great way to start off the college football season",
says a sports analyst on the tv from a tent in the tailgating section. Walking down the strip peeking
through the trees seeing a glimpse of the arena reminded me of a modernized colosseum.
Approaching the main entrance greeted by a metal statue and a stadium with a dark shade of brick
with countless of doors and glass windows. Many Lovie Smith propaganda is seen around the
stadium along with the array of Illinois gear. "Welcome to Memorial stadium, it's game day for your
Fighting Illini", said the announcer. My stomach dropped for the fact that college football is
officially back.

Illinois players with the fancy navy blue jersey with orange pants started to get the crowd pumped as
they were lining up for kickoff. The game was over at the start, during kickoff the kick returner was
shaking and dropped the ball and was leveled by Illinois players. Following the drop ball, Murray
State went three and out and punted the ball. The Illinois punt returner got great yardage and soon
after the offense scored.
Illinois was in control through the game dominating on both sides of the ball. Putting up 52 on the
offensive side and 6 sacks with only 3 points given up on the defensive side. The crowd loved the
dominance coming up with chants and always on their feet supporting the team. People are finally
coming to the games, around 50,000 people showed for the home opener and fans finally have
something to cheer for with the start of the Lovie era.
The following week was the first challenge for Illinois playing against nationally ranked team North
Carolina. Illinois's defense was talked about the whole week, with the major question if Illinois's
defense could hold high power North Carolina's offense. North Carolina having athletes at the wide

Not the Bad Guy!
Bear down! There is nothing more in this world, outside of my family, that I love more than my
Chicago Bears. Things haven't been going so well for the Bears these last few years. If you listen to
the media and Bears fans, you'd think it was all Jay Cutler's fault! Jay Cutler, the quarterback for the
Chicago Bears, is one of the most scrutinized athletes in all of sports. They say he's lazy, that he isn't
a leader. He is called a mediocre quarterback and overpaid. The media slams him because they think
the way he looks on the sideline, is one of someone who isn't involved and doesn't care about
winning or his team. Last but not least, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One writer puts it like this, "The Chicago Bears quarterback, while crazy–talented, has never lived
up to the hype surrounding him, and that – combined with the mopey attitude fans see – has made
him incredibly easy to hate" (International Business Times). I believe he has done the best possible
job that he can with the support that has been placed around him. I read a lot of articles on this guy,
and a lot of comments about the articles are about him and how it's all his fault that the Bears have
not had success since he came to Chicago. Going into his seventh season with the Chicago Bears,
Jay Cutler holds every Bear record for passing, except for touchdowns. He only needs seven more
touchdowns to hold that record also (The Football Database).
The Bears organization spent a lot to get him, but failed to surround him with talent to be the
franchise quarterback they wanted him to be. For example, as a quarterback he needs decent to good
protection from his offensive line. According to ProFootballFocus, he's had a mediocre to terrible
pass blocking offensive line. "Since he came to the Bears in 2009, his offensive line has a PFF score
of –315.9. Compare those numbers to what his main divisional rival, Aaron Rodgers, has
experienced (+93.7 PFF pass block grade) during the same time–frame, and you can see how short–
handed Cutler has been from the get–go" (ProFootballFocus). Also, he didn't have what the football
world would call a #1 receiver, until they

What makes Aaron Rodgers so special? Aaron isn't your normal everyday guy, even though he's

done so much for other people in his spare time when they are in a really bad spot. He loves to help
people in his spare time, such as participating in events to raise money for charities. So if you think
he's not worth remembering once he retires here's where you're wrong. While Aaron was a junior at
University of California, Berkeley he had a best friend, Daniel, who had leukemia. Daniel had a big

Sean Taylor Hall Of Fame Nominee
Sean Taylor Hall of Fame Nominee
Have you ever heard of a Hall of Fame player only playing three seasons? Well Sean Taylor is one
of the greatest and most athletic to ever play the game of football. He was on his way to another
great season and another pro bowl experience. But November 27, two days after his loss against the
buccaneers he was shot in his home. Trying to protect his girlfriend and daughter from intruders.
Sean Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame because of his achievements. In high school Taylor was a
track star. He won state in the 110 hurdles (The Legacy of No. 21). That is one of the reasons why
he was so fast and nobody could block him. That's also why he was an All–American career at the
University of Miami (S. Taylor Will Join the Team's Ring of Fame). He stuck out in college football.
Taylor had fourteen interceptions at Miami. Also with one hundred and eleven tackles his whole

Almost all defensive backs look up to Taylor. The way he played was nothing like the football

him" said Mike Hans, coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Hans didn't know Taylor but he's never seen a
safety like him. He was all over the field. Some coaches said he has a "nose for the ball," he just
always knew where it was and how to get there. But when he got there he punished whoever had it.
Quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers have all said that Taylor is the hardest hitter they
have ever played. You always had to keep an eye on him during the game. Because if you didn't you
would get blindsided. He was just one of those players. He didn't go out there to make friends. He

Reflection Paper On Jerseys
I have met many NFL players when I went to summer camp at Mount Vernon Presbyterian school. I
am telling you about when I got a jersey signed by Prince Amukamara. It was a nice summer day at
New Era football camp.Where many players like Thomas, Vic Beasley, Ray Rice, AJ, and of course
Prince train and play with kids.Every morning you would walk down the stairs and wait on the field
until the players were ready.Today they announced that New York Giants cornerback Prince
Amukamara has come with 5 blue and white authentic NFL jerseys that were signed and ready to
give away.I am a Giants fan and I really wanted to meet Prince Amukamara. Every day you would
get different schedules based on your age.I examined the schedule that the Atlanta Falcons outside
linebacker Vic Beasley gave me. I realized that Prince Amukamara was my last station.I wondered if
he would still have any jerseys towards the end of the day. They told us to stand in lines based on
our age.I was excited to go to the first station because it was running back drills with Ray Rice. Ray
plays for the Baltimore Ravens and went to Rutgers University. When I registered for this camp I got
to pick a hat of any NFL team.Of course, I chose the Giants, but I decided to get it signed by any
player, not just Giants players.I allowed Ray sign my hat and we moved on to the next station. My
next station was wide receiver drills with Demaryius Thomas.Demaryius went to the Georgia Tech

A Short Story : The Story Of The Story

Seattle Seahawks on October 17. When he told us our eyes lit up . The next day on Saturday we
made our way to Chicago to go see our Auntie and stay there before the game on Sunday , when we
got there my Aunt screamed : " Ohhhh my god it's been so long !" said Auntie Bre " Look how big
you guys are !" " We missed you to Auntie Bre." replied my brother while giving my Auntie Bre
hugs and kisses. " How have you been Auntie ." I questioned while hugging my Aunt. " I have been
good," Auntie Bre said. "Ted."she said she said grimaced while staring my dad down like a hungry
wolf stares down his prey. " I don't have time for this just show us where we sleeping I ain't got time
for all this." my dad said annoyed " Come on here so y'all can get a rest , what y'all come all this
way for any anyways ?" my Auntie questioned. " None of yo business now damn come on i'm

Walter Payon Quotes
Walter Payton once said "If you ask me how I want to be remembered, it is as a winner. You know
what a winner is? A winner is somebody who has given his best effort, who has tried the hardest
they possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and strength within them to accomplish
something. It doesn't mean that they accomplished it or failed, it means that they've given it their
best. That's a winner." This meaningful quote suggests that being a winner doesn't necessarily mean
that you have to win every single game or award; all you have to do to be a winner is show that you
put effort and that you actually tried to win. This quote was very relevant to Walter Payton

Walter Payton was a very important figure in football history because not only did he fight through
his hard times in high school and college but he also remained same and sympathetic through his
football career. He taught all of us that not everything is about winning; instead, you put all of your
strength and faith into something that you love. Born on July 25, 1954 in a small town of Columbia,
Mississippi; Walter was brought into this world by Peter and Alyne Payton to change football
history in a tremendous way. Peter and Alyne were loving and hardworking parents; in fact, they
sacrificed their jobs so that Walter and his siblings wouldn't remain alone. The Payton's weren't
wealthy and rich but according to Walter, that made him appreciate life more as a kid. As a child,
Walter was alwasy sympathetic although he really didn't get involved into sports until the first year
of high school. He had two other siblings, Eddie and Pam Payton, whom he shared many memories
with mostly outdoors; Walter admired his brother's athletic capacity and decided he would become

Character Analysis: The Chicago Bears
From Charles Tillman to Gary Fencik and beyond, the Chicago Bears defense has been led by some
extremely talented and physical corners especially game wining heroes like Mike Brown. Ironically
all these stars were part of the secondary primarily at the cornerback position. Fast forward to 2016,
and the cornerback position is by far the worst on the defense. Don't get me wrong Kyle Fuller is
extremely talented as is Tracy Porter who is best known for answering the prayers for the New
Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl primarily due to a pick–six. Bryce Callahan is also talented despite
a young age but behind them, the rest is all a scrap heap that includes promising rookie star
Deiondre Hall. Chicago's corners have talent but considering how lackadaisical they have performed

The corners have been getting burned ever since Tim Jennings lost his breakout potential and
ultimately Charles Tillman continually injuring himself. Head coach John Fox was the former
Broncos head coach and has brought multiple broncos with him to the Windy City. Now don't be
fooled, they aren't the Chicago Broncos similar to Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Ducks. This case
is how former Broncos who joined Fox in Chicago wanted to accomplish the same results. General
Manager Ryan Pace is by far a massive upgrade to Phil Emery who basically drafted players who
looked good but were not good as in Brandon Hardin, Shea McClellin, Jon Bostic etc. Pace has
drafted several caliber star players like Eddie Goldman and Adrian Amos. But this year, Pace failed
to address the secondary often going for other players that most definitely are not part of the
secondary. Then again, this is still a young team trying to rebuild into a champion which has not
been seen since 1985 and have not been to the Super Bowl since 2006. Back then, the secondary
was disciplined enough to win and it proved to be good until the rainy night in South

Chicago Bear History
It has been a while since the Chicago Bears have had a dominating backfield with multiple running
backs. Previous seasons of injury and players being ridden to exhaustion have kept Chicago's
running game from playing at its full potential throughout a complete season. The Bears were
blessed with the talents and abilities of Matt Forte, but this year could be the start of something
amazing. In 2015, Chicago had a mediocre running game at best throughout the season. Yes, there
were moments that stole the breath and raised the excitement of fans, but those plays were short
lived and quickly forgotten. The Bears ranked 11th in the league with 115.9 rushing yards per game.
The running backs accounted for 12 touchdowns and ran the ball for over 1,800 yards. It was the last
season for Forte in a Bears uniform but fans were given several looks at just how bright of a career
Jeremy Langford could have. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a more threatening passing game and a stronger offensive line, those numbers could have been
much higher. Many fans have questioned what kind of numbers he would be able to produce without
another breakthrough back to help carry the load. Those worries have quickly started fading away
since the Bears 5th round draft pick this year. After transferring to Indiana University, Jordan
Howard rushed for totals of 145, 159, 203, and 168 yards to become the first FBS player to rush for
at least 140 yards in each of his first four games with a program in 20 years. Later in the season,
Howard rushed ran the ball for 238 yards against the University of Michigan. That is the second
highest amount Michigan has ever given up in their storied history as a football program. In his last
season with Indiana, Howard ran for over 1,200 yards and scored 9 rushing touchdowns. Those are
productive numbers for any Big Ten running back, especially Howard, considering he missed four
games with an ankle

The tiny American defense consisted of three aircraft carriers (Yorktown, Hornet, and Enterprise),
fourteen destroyers, eight cruisers, and all the aircraft on Midway itself. The Yorktown aircraft
carrier had just taken quite a beating in the Battle of the Coral Sea, received only minor repairs at
Pearl Harbor before limping back into battle. With few and damaged troops, it seemed all but futile
for the puny American fleet. But, one key factor of this war was that the Americans had figured out
the Japanese code and knew something was up. This gave them the element of surprise. By June 4,
the American fleet had located the Japanese fleet, just northeast of Midway. The American's had
commenced a brave move that turned the tide of the battle. They had sent out multiple torpedo
bombers, which had drawn the Japanese planes covering the aircraft carriers down to low altitude to
destroy the torpedo bombers. This sacrifice allowed American SBD 'Dauntless' dive bombers to

excellent cover and concealment for the SBD 'Dauntless' bombers. The moment that the Japanese

dropping their bombs. The clouds, along with the fact that

Chicago Bears : A Successful Team
The Chicago Bears were not always the Chicago Bears; they first began as the Decatur Staleys. The
Chicago Bears had many things that helped them be a successful team. The success of this franchise
can be contributed to dedicated coaches, talented players, outstanding fields and teams with Super

Bears originated in Decatur, Illinois. The first year of this franchise was in 1920 when they were

$5,000 to move the Decatur Staleys to Chicago (sportsecyclopedia.com). That is when the Decatur

coaches that helped the Bears be a successful team. Those coaches include George Halas, Ralph

Bear's Game Analysis
Bear's fans starts to get excited every year around this time, but this year is different. Chicago has
put together an offense with several threats at every skilled position. The receivers have an excellent
opportunity to put together a duo, if not a trio that could easily lead the NFC. The back field is
shaping up like it will be a force of its own to be dealt with by opposing defenses. And at
quarterback, well, let's just say Cutler will have no excuses this year.

That's consistency and impeccable stats for anyone. In 1975, his best season, Chuck led the NFL in
receiving with 73 catches and led the NFC in touchdowns with 22– tying Gale Sayers' record from a
decade before. This iconic hero just missed the NFC's version of the Triple Crown. He was the
NFC's leading receiver and the NFC's leading touchdown scorer. Chuck was also the NFC's leading
scorer with 132 points and the NFL's 2nd leading scorer. He was the NFC's 2nd leading rusher with
1,070 yards and missed out on the NFC's rushing title by 7 yards. Unfortunately, the Vikings used
Chuck too much with all those carries and pass receptions and he was physically burned out after
the 1978 season when he was only 28 years old. It happened to all–time great runners Larry Brown

The Wheaton Ice Man In Arthur Miller's Death Of A Salesman
Harold Grange, also known as Red, the Galloping Ghost, or the Wheaton Ice Man, was an
inspiration to a depressed America. His real life persona had such an influence throughout America
that he was mentioned in Arthur Miller's play, " Death of a Salesman." Miller utilizes Grange as a
representation of the American dream and Willy's extreme expectations of his son, Biff. The NFL
has always had those players who stand out, not only as athletes, but as role models. Red Grange is
one football player who deserves to be acknowledged for his greatness on and off the field. He grew
up in Wheaton, Illinois with his brother, Garland, and his father. During high school, he played
sports and worked at an ice company, hence the nickname "the Wheaton Ice Man." He entered into
University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign in 1922. Noticing his distinct hair color, his football
teammates called him "Red." Those same players supported Grange as he played for the Bears in
1925. Fans swarmed the stands to see him play. Grange was named "the Galloping Ghost" because
he could seamlessly slither past his opponents to score touchdowns. In regard to the increase of
revenue after Grange joined the NFL, the official NFL website states, "...the NFL made its greatest
coup in gaining national recognition. Shortly after the University of Illinois season ended in
November, All–American halfback Harold (Red) Grange signed a contract to play with the Chicago
Bears. On Thanksgiving Day, a crowd of 36,000–the

Essay on The Beginning of the N.F.L.
The Beginning of the N.F.L.
The year was 1920 and pro–football was in a state of confusion. The three main problems that led to
all the confusion were, salaries rising, players jumping from team to team and the use of players still
enrolled in college. So, on August 20, 1920, a group of men representing the four current pro teams
met. When the day was done the American Professional Football Conference was born.
The A.P.F.C. was formed to make one governing body over pro football. Then, on September 17,
1920, a second organizational meeting was held. At the second meeting the following teams
attended: the Akron Pros; Canton Bulldogs; Cleveland Ohio Indians; Dayton Ohio Triangles;

On September 26, the first game, which featured an APFA team was played at Rock Island's
Douglas Park. A crowd of 800 watched the Independents defeat the St. Paul Ideals 48–0. A week
later, October 3, the first game matching two APFA teams was held. At Triangle Park, Dayton
defeated Columbus 14–0, with Lou Partlow of Dayton scoring the first touchdown in a game
between Association teams. The same day, Rock Island defeated Muncie 45–0. At the league
meeting in Akron, April 30, the championship of the 1920 season was awarded to the Akron Pros.
The APFA was later reorganized, they realized that Jim Thorpe was a better player then president.
So, they picked Joe Carr as the new president. Carr moved the Association's headquarters to
Columbus, drafted a league constitution and by–laws, gave teams territorial rights, restricted player
movements, developed membership criteria for the franchises, and issued standings for the first
time. This made it that the APFA would have a clear champion. The league was also increased to 22
teams. It was during this year that the Green Bay Packers were granted a franchise. It was during the
1921 season, that Fritz Pollard was made the first black head coach in the history of Pro–Football.
The Chicago Statleys who would later become the Bears were crowned the 1921 league champions.
Nothing really big happened for the APFA in 1922 except for a name change,

Henry David Thoreau And Ralph Waldo Emerson
Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, a group of transcendentalists who brought great
ideals with them through the mid 1800's. Their philosophy stated that people needed to stay true to
themselves and their own ideas, not those of society. One essay where Thoreau thoroughly
exemplifies this is in Civil Disobedience. Throughout this essay, Thoreau tries to show his point that
even though the government consists of more people, it will not always be correct. This means that
the majority does not always equal the better option and that if people go with what they think, then
they will be right. He asserts that anyone can constitute the majority of one and be the one person
who draws attention to an issue.
The NFL, the National Football League, where stars can shine doing what they love for millions of
fans, and where the NFL can create rules and policies every year to try and limit the freedom and
take control of "it's" players. It creates rules about what the players can and cannot wear, what they
can do on and off the field, and even when and where they have to speak. The more constraints the
NFL puts on the players, the more likely they will be to break them. In the past few years there have
been more movements against the NFL to try and earn some of the players' rights back. Just as
Thoreau presents his and Emerson's ideas in Civil Disobedience, the players in the NFL still emulate
their ideas by being the "majority of one"(Thoreau).

Anthem Racism Essay
Are all of the different types of national anthem protest in the NFL equally effective at protesting
racial injustices in the US, or are they all just being disrespectful to the flag and the country? There
are many ways players and teams are protesting the National Anthem in the NFL today. The Seattle
Seahawks locked arms and stood, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't even come onto the field, and the
Arizona Cardinals were allowed to do whatever they felt was right. All of these teams claimed that
they were demonstrating unity and standing up for racial equality. The most effective way was
demonstrated by the Seahawks because they displayed their stance on racial injustices in the most
professional way. And while it is clear that these protests have made an uproar in the NFL
community, it is not clear on how effective all the different types of protests are.
This is not the first time professional athletes have protested racial injustices in front of the entire
nation to see. During the 1968 Olympics runners Tommie Smith and John Carlos held a fist in the
air while wearing beads and cloth for shoes to protest the lynching and poverty of African–
Americans. And in 1996, Mahmoud Abdul–Rauf, a point guard in the NBA, was suspended a game
for sitting during the National Anthem. His reason for sitting was that it was against his religion. He
was scrutinized for this and after his contract was up he never played in the NBA again, and this was
during the prime of his career. During the

Chicago Bears Case Analysis
The 2016 season was a disappointment for the Chicago Bears. They finished with a record of 3–13,
Quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Kevin White were both dealing with injuries, wide
receiver Alshon Jeffery was suspended for four games due to PEDs, and the defense struggled.
Despite all the bad moments the Bears had last season, there were still some bright spots such as
rookie running back Jordan Howard rushing for 1,313 yards and wide receiver Cam Meredith
becoming a playmaker in the Chicago's offense. Out of the two scenarios, Meredith becoming a
viable option was not expected before the season began. The expectation was that Jeffery, White,
and a combination of Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson would be the top three wide ... Show more

Out of three, Cutler has the strongest arm but he only played in five games. Meredith's best games
happened with either Barkley or Hoyer under center. Last season, he had four games of 100 plus
receiving yards, including his first ever start, which happened in Week 5 against the Indianapolis
Colts on the road. The 6–foot–3 Meredith dominated in the Bears' 29–23 loss, playing opposite
Jeffery. He had nine receptions (12 targets) for 130 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came in
the second quarter after Howard ran for 57 yards. On second and goal, Hoyer found Meredith who
faked Colts cornerback Patrick Robinson into thinking he was running a curl route and put on a
double move for a touchdown in the back of the end zone. https://youtu.be/o1bTdpYFnas However,
that was not his best game last season as that would come against the Washington Redskins. Even
though the Bears lost 41–21, Meredith put on a show with nine receptions (12 targets) for 135 yards.
The potential Meredith showed last season should make the Bears feel comfortable about potentially
making him the No.1 wide receiver. But that may not be easy because White is still there and they
are probably hoping the former seventh overall pick can stay healthy and put together a productive
season. Not to mention, over the offseason, Chicago added wide receivers Victor Cruz, Markus
Wheaton, and Kendall Wright. None of

The Causes Of Professional Football
"Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it" said George S. Halas, former Chicago Bears head
coach. I do not share this same opinion. Professional football is a game of intense passion,
aggression, and power. I asked myself, how can a game that brings so much joy and comradery to
America be so dangerous? Football is known for its memorable game winning touchdowns and hard
hits the players receive. That is what we see on the news and in the papers. We don't see all the
injuries these players develop over time, all the pain they go through. Professional football causes
not only physical injuries but mental injuries that can lead to drug use. This is a very hard topic to
write about because it is a sport we have all come to know and love, but the truth of the mater is that
our professional football players are getting hurt. During a regular football season 9.1% of
professional football players injure their ankle or foot, 50.4% of players injure their leg and knees,
11.9% injure their back and spine, 16.9% their shoulder and arm, and 4.3% injure their neck. The
healing process of these injuries can be as little as 2 days but up to 20 weeks. The impact these
players receive from hitting and running into each other is not something the human body was made
for. The wear and tear one's body goes through is painful and can lead to long term injuries even
after they have ended their football career, such as arthritis and joint pain. Professional players
suffer from broken bones,

The Green Bay Packers will host the Chicago Bears on Thursday, November 26 in the third and

contender between Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
The Chicago Bears who nearly won the game over the Denver Broncos last week and the Green Bay
Packers were expected to perform another win again following last week's fight of the Minnesota
Vikings. The game wasn't of any interest, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed less than 50
percent of his throws.
The 30–13 win over the Vikings last week saw the Packers end a three game slide, and allowed them
to pull up level alongside the Vikings at the top of the division. Running back Eddie Lacy rebounded

laughing stock of the league. They no longer deserve that reputation anymore though, they will soon
prove the haters wrong with their new franchise quarterback. With Mitch Trubisky at the helm of
this franchise they have what it takes to make a run for the championship. They call it Mitchmas,
Merry Mitchmas to all the Bears fans, Mitchapalooza, Mitch Magic etc. there is some serious hype
around the franchise now that number two overall pick of the 2017 draft is now slinging footballs
for the Chicago Bears. It sounds kind of dumb but the fact that Mitch Trubisky is playing alone
brings the hype for Bears fans. Fan support is actually a really big deal in the NFL. When the fans
are invested in the game they cheer louder and bring a sense of energy to the stadium, some might
say the stadium was electric. #10 on first NFL start: "It was fun. It was Monday Night Football. The
crowd was electric, gotta thank them for coming out and really supporting us." 9:24 PM – 9 Oct

others. For example everyone knows there is an added challenge while playing in Seattle. "Picking

My Life Is My School
I was born May 28, 2003 in Dubuque, IA. And a major thing in my life is my schools. So, let me tell
you about those. The first school I ever went to was "Early Learners" where I learned the basics. But
of course in preschool you don 't really get graded or anything. After all, it is "pre–school." But the
second school I went to was "Table Mound." Over by Casey 's and all those places. Table Mound
was definitely a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There
I also had to move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the
trailer was really nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn't really care. Next I went to
Audubon, where I moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas
Jefferson Middle School. And I like this place a lot. I like how we don't have to stay in one class,
and I also like how we can have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don't get as mad in class
because if I get frustrated with a teacher, I don't have to stay with them the whole day. And that's
why I like middle school the most.
Most of my friends think I'm funny but that's because they're easy to make laugh. And so am I, I
guess, but I think it's a good thing. In the future I want to be a computer programmer, like a person

Walter Payton Essay
It is a popular adage that there are only two certain things in life–death and taxes. But for the last
decade or so in the National Football League, there has been another sure thing–as soon as he was
eligible in 1993, Walter Payton was destined to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That is
exactly what happened in January, 1993. All that remains was the exclamation point on his
spectacular career–enshrinement day on July 31, 1993, when Payton and four other members of the
Class of 1993 received pro football's highest honor.
In 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, Payton literally rewrote the NFL record
book with his ball–carrying feats. He rushed 3,838 times for 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns–all

"Walter takes pride in the little things, the blocking, the faking. Once against Cincinnati, he picked
up a couple of linebackers and liked to have killed them," Payton's last Bears coach, Mike Ditka,
remembers.
His teammate, Brian Baschnagel, insisted that Payton could play any position. Then he hesitated: "I
guess at 5–10, 202 pounds, his size might limit him at defensive tackle. The most incredible thing I
ever saw was the time he threw me a 50–yard touchdown pass. He was literally going down and he
had to whip the ball that far sidearm."
Payton played football with the enthusiasm of a 10th grader trying to be the best tailback on the
team," teammate Dan Hampton once said. He trained tirelessly by weightlifting and jogging during
every off–season and always appeared at training camp in perfect physical condition.
He missed only one game in his rookie 1975 campaign in his first 12 seasons. " I could have played
but my coach, Jack Pardee, wouldn't let me. I don't count that as a miss," Payton insisted.
Payton never tried to avoid contact. In fact, he relished it. His only possible flaw was his reluctance
to run out of bounds. He would rather punish a tackler than let the tackler punish him.
More than one opponent accused him of going out of his way to run over them and Payton readily
admitted that was

The Hero Of Walter Payton : A Good Hero
A good hero is someone who is courageous, kind, tough, patient, and helpful. Walter Payton fills all
of the requirements to be a good hero, mainly by being tough and kind. Walter Payton was a running
back for the NFL's Chicago Bears. Throughout his career, he broke as many records as any back
ever. Many people say he is the most well–rounded back in NFL history. Walter was also one of the
greatest philanthropists the NFL has ever seen. He started the Walter Payton Foundation, which
helps underprivileged children. In 1999, Walter found out that he had primary sclerosing cholangitis.
He found time to raise money for this rare disease. Sadly, Walter Payton died later that year, but his
legacy was carried on. Walter Payton deserves to be recognized due to his football career and
charitable acts as evidenced by his acts of kindness and toughness.
Walter Payton's kindness deserves some appreciation. In the article titled "Walter Payton Charity
Work", the author Don Yaeger states, "Gifts on Christmas for abused and neglected children may not
seem like a lot, but in terms of establishing self–worth, confidence, and a feeling of pride, I believe
it may mean everything." (Walter Payton Charity Work). Every year, Walter Payton dressed up like
Santa Claus and gave presents to unlucky kids. This shows his kindness because it is how he does it.

Comparing Brian Piccolo And Gale Sayers In Brian's Song

Brian Piccolo is the man with something always to talk about. He has social skills of the popular kid

coming right towards his head. Brian introduces himself to Gale and then Brian recalls him meeting
Gale a season ago. Gale is confused and he continues on walking to his station. He finds out that
Brian will be his sleeping buddy causing lost of controversy over the country. Kind of similar to the
Little Rock incident. They get along with each other even though there is some small bits of fighting
in between it. Gale ends up getting in trouble for talking while one of the coaches was speaking to
the rest of the team. Then they go have a couple football games against other teams, meet each
others family, etc.
The climax begins with Brian doing worse and worse with exercises during practice. Also Gale
breaks his knee. He later gets it fix by Brian(still getting more ill) by using a fancy machine. Gale
thanks Brian and then they train each other to become better at the game. Brian ends up telling Gale
that he feels like he is pregnant which causes Brian's Friends, Team, and Family to worry about him.

then going on to win the super bowl. They are the only team in NFL history to ever do this. The only
other teams that came close to this were the 85 bears and the 07 Patriots. Something all three of
these teams have in common are a great quarterback. The dolphins had Earal Morrall, the 85 Bears
had Jim McMahon, and the patriots had who is considered the best quarterback in NFL history Tom
Brady.
In my opinion the 1985 Bears are the best team in the NFL. they overcame the doubt of all people
because of a previous season and not only did they almost have an undefeated season the won the
SuperBowl, and had very successful players in further years. Even though the dolphins went
undefeated, they played in a different time a 13 year gap, the game was completely different. So in
my opinion the 1985 Chicago Bears are the best team in NFL

Chicago Bear Today Research Paper

  • 1. Chicago Bear Today Research Paper Chicago Bears Today vs. 1985 The Chicago Bears are a completely different team today than they were in 1985. The Bears today do not have the caliber of players. The stats are a big factor in proving my point. From passing to receiving yards and even rushing. In the following paragraphs, I will highlight some of the stats from 1985 and some from today's teams. In today's games, the stats are not very impressive. The Bears current starting QB is Matt Berkley. Completing only 129 passes for 1611 yards is not an impressive feat in the NFL. He has only thrown 8 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The leading receiver, Cameron Meredith, has 66 catches for 888 yards. He has fumbled the ball 3 times and lost the ball twice during those 3 fumbles. His ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Concussions : The Dangers Of Concussions In The NFL The Danger Hall of fame football coach John Madden once said: "They're on the right road, but there's a long way to go on concussions." The National Football League (NFL) is doing something about concussions, but it is not enough. In the NFL, there needs to be more player safety because of the immediate dangers of concussions and the increased chance of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and other mental diseases arising later in a player's life. The immediate dangers of concussions call for more appropriate safety measures to be taken by the NFL. According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, "a concussion is an injury to the brain that results in temporary loss of normal brain function."(AANS) The most common symptoms are confusion, dizziness, headaches, and memory loss all of which can be lifelong effects. Concussions are a serious injury because they can damage the brain; therefore, there needs to be a way to limit blows to the head that cause concussions. If a player or anyone for that matter gets a high number of concussions, the life they live will be affected negatively. A report published by the NFL states that the number of concussions in 2016 was 244. That is a decline from 2012 when there were 261 concussions. The decline illustrates that there has been some progress in reducing the amount of concussions in the NFL, but there still are 244 players being exposed to the symptoms that can occur for their whole lives. The NFL needs to do more to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Rhetorical Analysis Of Coach Brook's Pentad A miracle on ice happened during the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. These Olympic games were being held in the midst of the Cold War and ironically the finalists in men's hockey were hosting a war of their own. A battle for the gold medal was taking place and the two teams battling for glory were the underdog USA team and the best team in the world, the Soviets/Team Russia. This specific game is one of legend because it really was a "miracle on ice" watching the underdog USA team defeat the untouchable Soviets. The main purpose of this study is to examine the infamous locker room speech given to the United States men's hockey team by Coach Herb Brooks. This speech can be analyzed by many different rhetorical theories but this paper will focus on Kenneth Burke's dramatism pentad. Burke's pentad encompasses five points: agent, agency, act, scene, and purpose (ADD CITATION). All of these units to the pentad will play a significant role in analyzing Coach Brook's speech because they are all presented in this act of rhetoric. Justification Communication and rhetoric in sports has always been an interest to communication scholars. Analyzing the communication used in Coach Brook's locker room speech lets one understand how Burke's pentad makes it all work. Burke's pentad originated, "as a tool used to systematically dismantle and understand the bases of human conduct and motivation"(Ling, 1969, p. 81). This analysis relies heavily on motivation and why the speaker is doing what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Giants ' Best And Worst Wild Card Ranking the Giants ' best and worst wild–card matchups 7:00 AM ET Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer Facebook Twitter Facebook Messenger Pinterest Email print comment Playoff opponents are like ice cream flavors. They're all good, each with its own distinctive strength. The New York Giants have four potential opponents in the wild–card round of the postseason: the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks. All are dangerous. All are winning teams deserving of their playoff position. Eli Manning will take whatever playoff matchup the Giants get, but he 'd be wise to root for something other than a visit to Seattle. Al Bello/Getty Images The Giants already have faced two, beating the Lions at MetLife Stadium late in the season and losing to the Packers at Lambeau Field early in the season. That factors into the equation of best and worst matchups for Big Blue in the opening round of the postseason. So should the current form of each team and its health. Locked in as the No. 5 seed, the Giants are going to play the division winner with the worst record in the NFC on the road. That doesn't necessarily mean they will play the worst division winner or the opponent that gives them the best chance to win. Matchups are everything this time of year. Some stadiums are more hostile environments than others. Seattle falls into that category. Here is how I rank the potential opponents, in terms of which team the Giants should most want to face in their first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lovie Smith's Propaganda In College Football "Sunny and 75 with bright blue skies today is a great way to start off the college football season", says a sports analyst on the tv from a tent in the tailgating section. Walking down the strip peeking through the trees seeing a glimpse of the arena reminded me of a modernized colosseum. Approaching the main entrance greeted by a metal statue and a stadium with a dark shade of brick with countless of doors and glass windows. Many Lovie Smith propaganda is seen around the stadium along with the array of Illinois gear. "Welcome to Memorial stadium, it's game day for your Fighting Illini", said the announcer. Illinois players with the fancy navy blue jersey with orange pants started to get the crowd pumped as they were lining up for kickoff. The game was over at the start, during kickoff the kick returner was shaking and dropped the ball and was leveled by Illinois players. Following the drop ball, Murray State went three and out and punted the ball. The Illinois punt returner got great yardage and soon after the offense scored. Illinois was in control through the game dominating on both sides of the ball. Putting up 52 on the offensive side and 6 sacks with only 3 points given up on the defensive side. The crowd loved the dominance coming up with chants and always on their feet supporting the team. People are finally coming to the games, around 50,000 people showed for the home opener and fans finally have something to cheer for with the start of the Lovie era. The following week was the first challenge for Illinois playing against nationally ranked team North Carolina. There is nothing more in this world, outside of my family, that I love more than my Chicago Bears. Things haven't been going so well for the Bears these last few years. If you listen to the media and Bears fans, you'd think it was all Jay Cutler's fault! Jay Cutler, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears, is one of the most scrutinized athletes in all of sports. They say he's lazy, that he isn't a leader. He is called a mediocre quarterback and overpaid. One writer puts it like this, "The Chicago Bears quarterback, while crazy–talented, has never lived up to the hype surrounding him, and that – combined with the mopey attitude fans see – has made him incredibly easy to hate" (International Business Times). I believe he has done the best possible job that he can with the support that has been placed around him. I read a lot of articles on this guy, and a lot of comments about the articles are about him and how it's all his fault that the Bears have not had success since he came to Chicago. Going into his seventh season with the Chicago Bears, Jay Cutler holds every Bear record for passing, except for touchdowns. He only needs seven more touchdowns to hold that record also (The Football Database). The Bears organization spent a lot to get him, but failed to surround him with talent to be the franchise quarterback they wanted him to be. For example, as a quarterback he needs decent to good protection from his offensive line. According to ProFootballFocus, he's had a mediocre to terrible pass blocking offensive line. "Since he came to the Bears in 2009, his offensive line has a PFF score of –315.9. Compare those numbers to what his main divisional rival, Aaron Rodgers, has experienced (+93.7 PFF pass block grade) during the same time–frame, and you can see how short– handed Cutler has been from the get–go" (ProFootballFocus). Aaron isn't your normal everyday guy, even though he's been playing football for the past 12 years he has done more than just play football(OS 4). Well Sean Taylor is one of the greatest and most athletic to ever play the game of football. He was on his way to another great season and another pro bowl experience. But November 27, two days after his loss against the buccaneers he was shot in his home. Trying to protect his girlfriend and daughter from intruders. Sean Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame because of his achievements. In high school Taylor was a track star. He won state in the 110 hurdles (The Legacy of No. 21). I am telling you about when I got a jersey signed by Prince Amukamara. It was a nice summer day at New Era football camp.Where many players like Thomas, Vic Beasley, Ray Rice, AJ, and of course Prince train and play with kids.Every morning you would walk down the stairs and wait on the field until the players were ready.Today they announced that New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara has come with 5 blue and white authentic NFL jerseys that were signed and ready to give away.I am a Giants fan and I really wanted to meet Prince Amukamara. Every day you would get different schedules based on your age.I examined the schedule that the Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Vic Beasley gave me. I realized that Prince Amukamara was my last station.I wondered if he would still have any jerseys towards the end of the day. They told us to stand in lines based on our age.I was excited to go to the first station because it was running back drills with Ray Rice. Ray plays for the Baltimore Ravens and went to Rutgers University. When I registered for this camp I got to pick a hat of any NFL team.Of course, I chose the Giants, but I decided to get it signed by any player, not just Giants players.I allowed Ray sign my hat and we moved on to the next station. My next station was wide receiver drills with Demaryius Thomas.Demaryius went to the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology. He plays for the Denver ... A winner is somebody who has given his best effort, who has tried the hardest they possibly can, who has utilized every ounce of energy and strength within them to accomplish something. It doesn't mean that they accomplished it or failed, it means that they've given it their best. That's a winner." This meaningful quote suggests that being a winner doesn't necessarily mean that you have to win every single game or award; all you have to do to be a winner is show that you put effort and that you actually tried to win. Character Analysis: The Chicago Bears From Charles Tillman to Gary Fencik and beyond, the Chicago Bears defense has been led by some extremely talented and physical corners especially game wining heroes like Mike Brown. Ironically all these stars were part of the secondary primarily at the cornerback position. Fast forward to 2016, and the cornerback position is by far the worst on the defense. Don't get me wrong Kyle Fuller is extremely talented as is Tracy Porter who is best known for answering the prayers for the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl primarily due to a pick–six. Bryce Callahan is also talented despite a young age but behind them, the rest is all a scrap heap that includes promising rookie star Deiondre Hall. • 58. Chicago Bear History It has been a while since the Chicago Bears have had a dominating backfield with multiple running backs. Previous seasons of injury and players being ridden to exhaustion have kept Chicago's running game from playing at its full potential throughout a complete season. The Bears were blessed with the talents and abilities of Matt Forte, but this year could be the start of something amazing. In 2015, Chicago had a mediocre running game at best throughout the season. Yes, there were moments that stole the breath and raised the excitement of fans, but those plays were short lived and quickly forgotten. The Bears ranked 11th in the league with 115.9 rushing yards per game. The running backs accounted for 12 touchdowns and ran the ball for over 1,800 yards. The Yorktown aircraft carrier had just taken quite a beating in the Battle of the Coral Sea, received only minor repairs at Pearl Harbor before limping back into battle. With few and damaged troops, it seemed all but futile for the puny American fleet. But, one key factor of this war was that the Americans had figured out the Japanese code and knew something was up. This gave them the element of surprise. By June 4, the American fleet had located the Japanese fleet, just northeast of Midway. The American's had commenced a brave move that turned the tide of the battle. They had sent out multiple torpedo bombers, which had drawn the Japanese planes covering the aircraft carriers down to low altitude to destroy the torpedo bombers. This sacrifice allowed American SBD 'Dauntless' dive bombers to attack the aircraft carriers. Clouds were forming around 3000 meters above sea level. • 99. Henry David Thoreau And Ralph Waldo Emerson Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, a group of transcendentalists who brought great ideals with them through the mid 1800's. Their philosophy stated that people needed to stay true to themselves and their own ideas, not those of society. One essay where Thoreau thoroughly exemplifies this is in Civil Disobedience. Throughout this essay, Thoreau tries to show his point that even though the government consists of more people, it will not always be correct. This means that the majority does not always equal the better option and that if people go with what they think, then they will be right. He asserts that anyone can constitute the majority of one and be the one person who draws attention to an issue. The NFL, the National Football League, where stars can shine doing what they love for millions of fans, and where the NFL can create rules and policies every year to try and limit the freedom and take control of "it's" players. It creates rules about what the players can and cannot wear, what they can do on and off the field, and even when and where they have to speak. The more constraints the NFL puts on the players, the more likely they will be to break them. In the past few years there have been more movements against the NFL to try and earn some of the players' rights back. Just as Thoreau presents his and Emerson's ideas in Civil Disobedience, the players in the NFL still emulate their ideas by being the "majority of one"(Thoreau). A recent example of an NFL ... • 103. Anthem Racism Essay Are all of the different types of national anthem protest in the NFL equally effective at protesting racial injustices in the US, or are they all just being disrespectful to the flag and the country? There are many ways players and teams are protesting the National Anthem in the NFL today. The Seattle Seahawks locked arms and stood, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't even come onto the field, and the Arizona Cardinals were allowed to do whatever they felt was right. All of these teams claimed that they were demonstrating unity and standing up for racial equality. The most effective way was demonstrated by the Seahawks because they displayed their stance on racial injustices in the most professional way. And while it is clear that these protests have made an uproar in the NFL community, it is not clear on how effective all the different types of protests are. This is not the first time professional athletes have protested racial injustices in front of the entire nation to see. During the 1968 Olympics runners Tommie Smith and John Carlos held a fist in the air while wearing beads and cloth for shoes to protest the lynching and poverty of African– Americans. And in 1996, Mahmoud Abdul–Rauf, a point guard in the NBA, was suspended a game for sitting during the National Anthem. His reason for sitting was that it was against his religion. He was scrutinized for this and after his contract was up he never played in the NBA again, and this was during the prime of his career. During the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 107. Chicago Bears Case Analysis The 2016 season was a disappointment for the Chicago Bears. They finished with a record of 3–13, Quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Kevin White were both dealing with injuries, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was suspended for four games due to PEDs, and the defense struggled. Despite all the bad moments the Bears had last season, there were still some bright spots such as rookie running back Jordan Howard rushing for 1,313 yards and wide receiver Cam Meredith becoming a playmaker in the Chicago's offense. Out of the two scenarios, Meredith becoming a viable option was not expected before the season began. The expectation was that Jeffery, White, and a combination of Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson would be the top three wide ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Out of three, Cutler has the strongest arm but he only played in five games. Meredith's best games happened with either Barkley or Hoyer under center. Last season, he had four games of 100 plus receiving yards, including his first ever start, which happened in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts on the road. The 6–foot–3 Meredith dominated in the Bears' 29–23 loss, playing opposite Jeffery. He had nine receptions (12 targets) for 130 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came in the second quarter after Howard ran for 57 yards. On second and goal, Hoyer found Meredith who faked Colts cornerback Patrick Robinson into thinking he was running a curl route and put on a double move for a touchdown in the back of the end zone. https://youtu.be/o1bTdpYFnas However, that was not his best game last season as that would come against the Washington Redskins. Even though the Bears lost 41–21, Meredith put on a show with nine receptions (12 targets) for 135 yards. The potential Meredith showed last season should make the Bears feel comfortable about potentially making him the No.1 wide receiver. But that may not be easy because White is still there and they are probably hoping the former seventh overall pick can stay healthy and put together a productive season. Not to mention, over the offseason, Chicago added wide receivers Victor Cruz, Markus Wheaton, and Kendall Wright. None of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 111. The Causes Of Professional Football "Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it" said George S. Halas, former Chicago Bears head coach. I do not share this same opinion. Professional football is a game of intense passion, aggression, and power. I asked myself, how can a game that brings so much joy and comradery to America be so dangerous? Football is known for its memorable game winning touchdowns and hard hits the players receive. That is what we see on the news and in the papers. We don't see all the injuries these players develop over time, all the pain they go through. Professional football causes not only physical injuries but mental injuries that can lead to drug use. This is a very hard topic to write about because it is a sport we have all come to know and love, but the truth of the mater is that our professional football players are getting hurt. During a regular football season 9.1% of professional football players injure their ankle or foot, 50.4% of players injure their leg and knees, 11.9% injure their back and spine, 16.9% their shoulder and arm, and 4.3% injure their neck. The healing process of these injuries can be as little as 2 days but up to 20 weeks. The impact these players receive from hitting and running into each other is not something the human body was made for. The wear and tear one's body goes through is painful and can lead to long term injuries even after they have ended their football career, such as arthritis and joint pain. Professional players suffer from broken bones, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 115. Chicago Bears Research Paper The Green Bay Packers will host the Chicago Bears on Thursday, November 26 in the third and final game for Thanksgiving Day 2015, at the Lambeau Field. It's the longtime NFC North contender between Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears who nearly won the game over the Denver Broncos last week and the Green Bay Packers were expected to perform another win again following last week's fight of the Minnesota Vikings. The game wasn't of any interest, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed less than 50 percent of his throws. The 30–13 win over the Vikings last week saw the Packers end a three game slide, and allowed them to pull up level alongside the Vikings at the top of the division. • 119. Persuasive Footballs In The Stadiums Mitch Trubisky is a Franchise Quarterback The Chicago Bears have found their future of their franchise. They are generally considered the laughing stock of the league. They no longer deserve that reputation anymore though, they will soon prove the haters wrong with their new franchise quarterback. With Mitch Trubisky at the helm of this franchise they have what it takes to make a run for the championship. They call it Mitchmas, Merry Mitchmas to all the Bears fans, Mitchapalooza, Mitch Magic etc. there is some serious hype around the franchise now that number two overall pick of the 2017 draft is now slinging footballs for the Chicago Bears. It sounds kind of dumb but the fact that Mitch Trubisky is playing alone brings the hype for Bears fans. Fan support is actually a really big deal in the NFL. When the fans are invested in the game they cheer louder and bring a sense of energy to the stadium, some might say the stadium was electric. #10 on first NFL start: "It was fun. It was Monday Night Football. The crowd was electric, gotta thank them for coming out and really supporting us." 9:24 PM – 9 Oct 2017 (Tweet) (@ChicagoBears). As you can see that the stadium had a different feel with Trubisky under center and that is actually a phenomenon, some NFL stadiums are harder to compete in than others. For example everyone knows there is an added challenge while playing in Seattle. "Picking between them is tough, but I would say narrowly that the Seahawks have the best ... • 127. My Life Is My School I was born May 28, 2003 in Dubuque, IA. And a major thing in my life is my schools. So, let me tell you about those. The first school I ever went to was "Early Learners" where I learned the basics. But of course in preschool you don 't really get graded or anything. After all, it is "pre–school." But the second school I went to was "Table Mound." Over by Casey 's and all those places. Table Mound was definitely a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There I also had to move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the trailer was really nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn't really care. Next I went to Audubon, where I moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas Jefferson Middle School. And I like this place a lot. I like how we don't have to stay in one class, and I also like how we can have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don't get as mad in class because if I get frustrated with a teacher, I don't have to stay with them the whole day. And that's why I like middle school the most. Most of my friends think I'm funny but that's because they're easy to make laugh. And so am I, I guess, but I think it's a good thing. In the future I want to be a computer programmer, like a person that makes games. Or an electrician, but that's really only because it pays well, and a lot of my family members were electricians too. • 131. Walter Payton Essay It is a popular adage that there are only two certain things in life–death and taxes. But for the last decade or so in the National Football League, there has been another sure thing–as soon as he was eligible in 1993, Walter Payton was destined to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That is exactly what happened in January, 1993. All that remains was the exclamation point on his spectacular career–enshrinement day on July 31, 1993, when Payton and four other members of the Class of 1993 received pro football's highest honor. In 13 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1975 to 1987, Payton literally rewrote the NFL record book with his ball–carrying feats. He rushed 3,838 times for 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns–all records. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Walter takes pride in the little things, the blocking, the faking. Once against Cincinnati, he picked up a couple of linebackers and liked to have killed them," Payton's last Bears coach, Mike Ditka, remembers. His teammate, Brian Baschnagel, insisted that Payton could play any position. Then he hesitated: "I guess at 5–10, 202 pounds, his size might limit him at defensive tackle. The most incredible thing I ever saw was the time he threw me a 50–yard touchdown pass. He was literally going down and he had to whip the ball that far sidearm." Payton played football with the enthusiasm of a 10th grader trying to be the best tailback on the team," teammate Dan Hampton once said. He trained tirelessly by weightlifting and jogging during every off–season and always appeared at training camp in perfect physical condition. He missed only one game in his rookie 1975 campaign in his first 12 seasons. " I could have played but my coach, Jack Pardee, wouldn't let me. I don't count that as a miss," Payton insisted. Payton never tried to avoid contact. In fact, he relished it. His only possible flaw was his reluctance to run out of bounds. He would rather punish a tackler than let the tackler punish him. • 135. The Hero Of Walter Payton : A Good Hero A good hero is someone who is courageous, kind, tough, patient, and helpful. Walter Payton fills all of the requirements to be a good hero, mainly by being tough and kind. Walter Payton was a running back for the NFL's Chicago Bears. Throughout his career, he broke as many records as any back ever. Many people say he is the most well–rounded back in NFL history. Walter was also one of the greatest philanthropists the NFL has ever seen. He started the Walter Payton Foundation, which helps underprivileged children. In 1999, Walter found out that he had primary sclerosing cholangitis. He found time to raise money for this rare disease. Sadly, Walter Payton died later that year, but his legacy was carried on. Walter Payton deserves to be recognized due to his football career and charitable acts as evidenced by his acts of kindness and toughness. Walter Payton's kindness deserves some appreciation. In the article titled "Walter Payton Charity Work", the author Don Yaeger states, "Gifts on Christmas for abused and neglected children may not seem like a lot, but in terms of establishing self–worth, confidence, and a feeling of pride, I believe it may mean everything." (Walter Payton Charity Work). Every year, Walter Payton dressed up like Santa Claus and gave presents to unlucky kids. This shows his kindness because it is how he does it.
