were in 1985. The Bears today do not have the caliber of players. The stats are a big factor in

Concussions : The Dangers Of Concussions In The NFL
The Danger Hall of fame football coach John Madden once said: "They're on the right road, but
there's a long way to go on concussions." The National Football League (NFL) is doing something
about concussions, but it is not enough. In the NFL, there needs to be more player safety because of
the immediate dangers of concussions and the increased chance of Chronic Traumatic
Encephalopathy (CTE) and other mental diseases arising later in a player's life. The immediate
dangers of concussions call for more appropriate safety measures to be taken by the NFL. According
to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, "a concussion is an injury to the brain that
results in temporary loss of normal brain function."(AANS) The most common symptoms are
confusion, dizziness, headaches, and memory loss all of which can be lifelong effects. Concussions
are a serious injury because they can damage the brain; therefore, there needs to be a way to limit
blows to the head that cause concussions. If a player or anyone for that matter gets a high number of
concussions, the life they live will be affected negatively. A report published by the NFL states that
the number of concussions in 2016 was 244. That is a decline from 2012 when there were 261
concussions. The decline illustrates that there has been some progress in reducing the amount of
concussions in the NFL, but there still are 244 players being exposed to the symptoms that can occur

A miracle on ice happened during the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. These Olympic games were
being held in the midst of the Cold War and ironically the finalists in men's hockey were hosting a
war of their own. A battle for the gold medal was taking place and the two teams battling for glory
were the underdog USA team and the best team in the world, the Soviets/Team Russia. This specific
game is one of legend because it really was a "miracle on ice" watching the underdog USA team
defeat the untouchable Soviets. The main purpose of this study is to examine the infamous locker
room speech given to the United States men's hockey team by Coach Herb Brooks. This speech can
be analyzed by many different rhetorical theories but this paper will focus on Kenneth Burke's
dramatism pentad. Burke's pentad encompasses five points: agent, agency, act, scene, and purpose
(ADD CITATION). All of these units to the pentad will play a significant role in analyzing Coach
Brook's speech because they are all presented in this act of rhetoric.

Playoff opponents are like ice cream flavors. They're all good, each with its own distinctive strength.
The New York Giants have four potential opponents in the wild–card round of the postseason: the
Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks. All are dangerous. All are
winning teams deserving of their playoff position.

Illinois players with the fancy navy blue jersey with orange pants started to get the crowd pumped as
they were lining up for kickoff. The game was over at the start, during kickoff the kick returner was

immediately. When the reports come back, they see that Brian has cancer. He has to have an
operation and have part of his right lung removed. Gale is devistated by this horrifing news.

Bear's fans starts to get excited every year around this time, but this year is different. Chicago has
put together an offense with several threats at every skilled position. The receivers have an excellent
opportunity to put together a duo, if not a trio that could easily lead the NFC. The back field is
shaping up like it will be a force of its own to be dealt with by opposing defenses. And at
quarterback, well, let's just say Cutler will have no excuses this year.

Douglas Park. A crowd of 800 watched the Independents defeat the St. Paul Ideals 48–0. A week

Are all of the different types of national anthem protest in the NFL equally effective at protesting
racial injustices in the US, or are they all just being disrespectful to the flag and the country? There
are many ways players and teams are protesting the National Anthem in the NFL today. The Seattle
Seahawks locked arms and stood, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't even come onto the field, and the
Arizona Cardinals were allowed to do whatever they felt was right. All of these teams claimed that
they were demonstrating unity and standing up for racial equality. The most effective way was

professional way. And while it is clear that these protests have made an uproar in the NFL
community, it is not clear on how effective all the different types of protests are.

Americans. And in 1996, Mahmoud Abdul–Rauf, a point guard in the NBA, was suspended a game
for sitting during the National Anthem. His reason for sitting was that it was against his religion. He

injuries these players develop over time, all the pain they go through. Professional football causes

professional football players injure their ankle or foot, 50.4% of players injure their leg and knees,

healing process of these injuries can be as little as 2 days but up to 20 weeks. The impact these
players receive from hitting and running into each other is not something the human body was made

I was born May 28, 2003 in Dubuque, IA. And a major thing in my life is my schools. So, let me tell
you about those. The first school I ever went to was "Early Learners" where I learned the basics. But
of course in preschool you don 't really get graded or anything. After all, it is "pre–school." But the
second school I went to was "Table Mound." Over by Casey 's and all those places. Table Mound
was definitely a big place for me. Back then anyways, I looked at it like it was a huge school. There
I also had to move because I was outside the school district, and we moved into a trailer. And the
trailer was really nice on the inside, and it had 2 bathrooms so I didn't really care. Next I went to
Audubon, where I moved back to my old house, where I still live now. Then I went to Thomas
Jefferson Middle School. And I like this place a lot. I like how we don't have to stay in one class,
and I also like how we can have our phones out at lunch. And I think I don't get as mad in class
because if I get frustrated with a teacher, I don't have to stay with them the whole day. And that's

The rising actions begin telling us all about the two main characters and their personalities. They
end up meeting each other just right before Gale was going to visit the tooth fairy because of a ball

Gale a season ago. Gale is confused and he continues on walking to his station. He finds out that
Brian will be his sleeping buddy causing lost of controversy over the country. Kind of similar to the
Little Rock incident. They get along with each other even though there is some small bits of fighting
in between it. Gale ends up getting in trouble for talking while one of the coaches was speaking to

breaks his knee. He later gets it fix by Brian(still getting more ill) by using a fancy machine. Gale

that he feels like he is pregnant which causes Brian's Friends, Team, and Family to worry about him.

The 1985 bears have always been known for their defense and people have gave the defense the

and not making it to the playoffs. The head coach NFL football HOF Mike Ditka was set to make a
change on the upcoming season. With a new starting QB Jim McMahon and arguable one of the best
RB in the NFL, Walter Payton, who would later go on to the HOF and die in 1999 to liver disease.
The 1985 Bears didn't have any major receivers so the offense relied on the OB and the RB. the

They are who the 85 bears are mostly compared to. In 1972 the Dolphins completed a 14–0 season
then going on to win the super bowl. They are the only team in NFL history to ever do this. The only
other teams that came close to this were the 85 bears and the 07 Patriots. Something all three of
these teams have in common are a great quarterback. The dolphins had Earal Morrall, the 85 Bears
had Jim McMahon, and the patriots had who is considered the best quarterback in NFL history Tom
Brady.
In my opinion the 1985 Bears are the best team in the NFL. they overcame the doubt of all people
because of a previous season and not only did they almost have an undefeated season the won the
SuperBowl, and had very successful players in further years. Even though the dolphins went
undefeated, they played in a different time a 13 year gap, the game was completely different. So in
my opinion the 1985 Chicago Bears are the best team in NFL
