6. Who is Ima Learner © ? Ima Learner © is the character of software venture I am pursuing involving the development of learning applications for the iPhone / iPod Touch. They are designed to help children 3-8 and cover basic spelling and math concepts. Ima Learner Apps are being developed sequentially beginning with a basic shapes program to help children age 3 to 8 learn the basics of the user interface. This is followed by apps for counting and the alphabet and proceeds from basic spelling. Initial release of the apps is planned for Spring 2010. Each app will also allow the parent to add customized word lists and associate them with images or photos. This will allow the child to learn to spell words like their name, the names of grandparents or their address. Pictures can then be loaded and associated with the custom word so the picture of the person or in the case of the address their home will be displayed while spelling the word. Wait a minute, you want me to give my iPhone to my kid to play with? !!!! In all honesty, haven’t you already done that at least once? Ima Learner apps can be used on either the iPhone in or out of airplane mode and on the iPod Touch. Imagine taking your 4-year old to your 10-year old’s soccer game. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to have the youngest engaged in something so you can watch the oldest play? Think about how things are changing.
