4. A Brief History  ► Discovered by H.W Dove in 1839 ► Study continued by Gerald Oster; “Auditory Beats in the Brain” 1973 ► Binaural beats was seen as powerful tool: cognitive/neurological research ► Binaural Recording first arose in 1881 ► Furthered by Zuccarelli, 1980s; ‘Holophonics’

5.  How Binaural Works ► Record/playback sounds the same way our ears hear them in 3D space

6.  How? (Continued) ► A uditory brainstem responses which originate in the superior olivary nucleus of each hemisphere ► 2 different auditory impulse interactions (each ear); below 1000-1500 Hz, difference between 0-30 Hz
