or publicly in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or OpenDocument
presentations. Slide decks can then be viewed on the site itself, on hand held
devices or embedded on other sites.
■ Slide is a community used to share resources. People can not only share PPT, PDF
and OpenOffice, but also find the documents they are interested in.

■ I feel in this SlideShare example, the professor use this way to engage children learn
the Gamification in the classroom. It will help students keep motivated and positive
to join the class.

6. ■ What is Prezi?
■ Prezi is a web-based tool for creating presentations (called prezis for short). It's
similar to other presentation software like Microsoft PowerPoint, but it offers some
unique features that make it a good alternative. In recent years, it has become
popular in schools and businesses. If you're looking to create a presentation that's a
bit more eye-catching and engaging, Prezi may be for you.
7. ■ Pros:
■ 1. Breaks the Mold
■ 2. It's Free and Web-Based
■ 3. Link Text and Images to Movement
■ 4. Appropriate for All Ages
■ 5. Shows Students You're “Up-to-date” with Technology
■ Cons:
■ 1. Can Cause Motion Sickness
■ 2. More of a Learning Curve
■ 3. Web-Based
8. Prezi in the classroom
■ Here is an example to show the use of perzi in the classroom
■ Click this button. ◎
■ This example is about the world map. Using Prezi is different from using any other
presentation tool. This software can attract the attention of students. As the show
progressed, the students seemed to be really involved in the world. As the map
zooms in and out, it gives a sense of substitution. It not only brings text and pictures
to the mind with movement. It also attracts students at all times, allowing students
to participate more actively in the classroom.
9. ■ These two tools have similarities and different places. First of all, Prezi brings more
interactivity to people. PowerPoint brings more to a sense of speech. Both tools
require a certain amount of proficiency to demonstrate their role. Prezi has a
stronger interaction with the audience. As the speech progresses, both text and
images will be dazzled. If you need to be more involved in your presentation, Prezi is
a good choice. Although Powerpoint can't have such strong interactivity, it can give
people more intuitive expression.
10. ■ What is VoiceThread?
■ VoiceThread is a learning tool for enhancing student engagement and online
presence. With VoiceThread, instructors and/or students can create, share, and
comment on images, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, videos, audio files,
documents, and PDFs, using microphone, webcam, text, phone, and audio-file
upload. At Indiana University, VoiceThread is an external tool that integrates into
Canvas.
11. ■ Pros: This software is just like its name, this is a software that can be added to your
own voice. Compared to previous text responses, voice feedback can make this
software very interesting. This software can also be edited by adding files such as
pictures. Different grades can also show different performances in this software. So
this software is suitable for students at all stages.
■ Cons: The presentation of this software is dynamic, as if it were a cycle after another.
Repeat by releasing the slideshow and then playing the audio. This sometimes
wastes a lot of time when recording your own voice, because once you make a
mistake, you have to re-record. This will take more time than usual.
12. Voice Threat in the classroom
■ Here is an example to show the use of Voice Threat in the classroom.
■ Click this button. ◎
■ In this example, it shows a picture and a little girl told a story about three pigs. This
software is good, although there is only a simple picture, but it can help us to
connect pictures and sounds. In our minds constitute a vivid story.
■
13. ■ VoiceThreat and PowerPoint are very different. VoiceThreat allows us to use voice
messages during the production process, and sometimes we can use a voice
explanation to match a simple picture. This can give the audience their own space to
think and imagine. In PowerPoint, either a picture or a link to a website to watch a
video, the overall performance is not as strong as VoiceThreat. So which software to
use depends on how you want to speak. If you want to give the audience space to
imagine and think, VoiceThreat is a good choice.
