1. Preliminary Task Evaluation
In my preliminary task I learnt the basic codes and
conventions of a general magazine.
One of the basics I learnt and felt I understood was how you
lay out your magazine and a good magazine lay out means
having details like sentences at an angle, interesting fonts,
and an eye catching central image, which to me makes it
look professional.
One of the other basics I learnt was colour scheme and how
the right colour scheme is very important in which audience
you want to be attracting whether young, old, into
mainstream music or heavy metal etc.
Another basic I learnt was how you make articles more
interesting, like adding a drop capital at the start to catch the
reader’s attention towards that paragraph, adding and
highlighting quotes and adding small pictures in with it,
even though I couldn’t add that to my final pages.
I feel I completely understand the codes and conventions of
a magazine and will be able to fully apply them to my music
magazine I will create.
