Donald Trump Illegal Immigration Case Study
President–elect Donald Trump said he plans to deport about two to three million undocumented
immigrants on his lectionary campaign. Trump campaigned on a promise to crack down on illegal
immigration, vowing to build a wall along the Mexican border. Asked in the 60 Minutes interview if
he plans to actually build the wall, he said yes, adding that parts of the border might include fencing.
"But for certain areas, a wall is appropriate.
Trump has used the "two million" figure previously, but experts have poked holes in its accuracy.
Citing data from the Department of Homeland Security and the Migration Policy Institute, there are

Obama's lenient policies on illegal immigration and could restore programs that encourage state and
local police to cooperate on immigration enforcement. He could also withhold federal grant money
from sanctuary cities – a move that would likely force a number of places with existing policies to

"Justice" is defined as the quality of righteousness, equitableness, and moral rightness, but do the
characters In Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men, really fit this interpretation? Sheriff
Bell, for example, shows himself to be inconsistent in his pursuit of justice, as he seems
overattentive in the case involving Llewellyn Moss, a white man, (which proves unsuccessful in the
long run), yet he shows disregard and a lack of justice for his Latino residents, and actually seeks
justice against the Latino population of West Texas. After Moss gets caught up with the wrong
people, Sheriff Bell commits his time and resources into saving him from his pursuers and thus tries
to achieve justice for Moss, even when in the end, his efforts are derailed when Moss is ultimately
killed. For starters, Sheriff Bell laments that "the old time concern that the sheriffs had for their
people has been watered down some," (64) and he seems to pride himself on keeping that concern
alive, which shows in his willingness to help Moss and his wife. In addition, As Bell travels across
the entirety of West Texas in his pursuit of justice for Moss, he overhears truckers on the radio
saying, "Has he got jurisdiction up here?...I think if he sees you committin a crime he does." (125)
Bell doesn't seem to need jurisdiction when he is pursuing a case in which he has devoted much of

Assumptions are necessary for us to function as humans, if we did not make assumptions we would
have died out as a species long ago. In the film "Atonement", director Joe Wright tells the story of a
young Briony who has chosen to tell a terrible lie, one that will forever disconnect her from her
sister, her happiness, and herself. This text begs the question of assumptions; why we need to
understand them, why we need to know when to admit they are wrong, and why we need to be able
to accept the consequences of them. The topic and overall meaning that this idea holds conveys a
message that resonates with the idea that assumptions are sometimes a major factor in how
individuals go about taking responsibility for themselves. Until an individual can take responsibility
for the actions resulting from their own assumed reality, their attempts to take responsibility for
themselves will ultimately fail.
If an individual's assumption is forced to fit into reality, that may give them the obligation and
personal responsibility to reshape reality to fit their assumptions. As a thirteen year–old Briony was

It is possible to understand certain pieces of literature outside its historical context; however, it is
more beneficial if the reader has background knowledge. Taha Muhammad Ali was a Palestinian
poet that was born in 1931. He grew up in Saffuriya, Galilee which is located in the Middle East. Ali
was self–taught through his readings of classical Arabic literature, American fiction, and English
poetry. Ali then began to write poems in the 1970s. He wrote a poem entitled "Meeting at an
Airport" which is based on his personal experiences. Without knowing his background information
and history, it is unclear about what exactly is meant by this poem. This piece of literature elicits the
sense of reconnection and the exact same feelings for each other just like the first time they met. In
the poem, "Meeting at an Airport" written by Taha Muhammad Ali, historical context is needed to
understand this piece because it emphasizes the theme, the purpose of the poem, and establishes
credibility ("Poetry Foundation"). When a reader grasps a theme throughout any piece of literature,
he or she never clearly understands the intent without knowing where the theme came from. The
theme that is portrayed in the poem is, often times reconnecting with a loved one cannot only bring

Racial Profiling is a government activity directed at a suspect or a group of suspects based solely on
race. Racial profiling has become a major problem in the United States. According to an article
written by the Editorial Board of St. Louis Post–Dispatch . "In 2014, blacks were 75 percent more
likely to be pulled over in the state of Missouri than whites." The point of the article was to show
that finding better ways to detect criminals would make the United States a better country over all.
Also stated in the article "More Training and Police Consolidation Would Improve Racial Profiling
stats." But it is deeper than just more training and police consolidation. As stated in an article in the
New York Times written by Manny Fernandez, in Texas the lawmakers created a law known as
Senate Bill 4 that prohibits cities and counties from adopting policies to limit immigration
enforcement. Immigration enforcement is an American federal law enforcement agency, it is
responsible for enforcing federal laws governing border control. Racial profiling is an ineffective
and degrading practice because it violates civil rights, it's unconstitutional and it's a road block for
future growth.
Racial profiling violates civil rights by targeting people based on their race. As stated in an article
written by Kurtis Lee, "he ordered his officers to stop drivers simply on the suspicion that they were
in the country illegally, sometimes leading to the detention of Latinos who were citizens." This is

openly disregarding a court order to stop racially profiling Latinos while he was sheriff. Joe Arpaio
chose to continuously racially profile Latinos after being ordered to stop by the court. Which lead to

I have grown up listening to Hip–Hop just as I did listening to my mother's blaring Bachata and
Merengue every Sunday morning and from what I can recall, the artists I primarily listened to were

The GI Joe doll portrays the image of a man in the military. He dresses in camouflage and carries
around guns. Wagner–Ott describes the GI Joe doll as a "...butch version of Barbie with the same

According to Michael Omi and Howard Winant racial formation is "the sociohistorical process by
which racial categories are created, inhabited, transformed, and destroyed." How as a society we can
do this? Very simple: we create a sentiment on what a particular person is and began by assuming
everyone is the same. Example: Mexicans. Almost everyone has heard at one point about
immigration. Immigrants come and take our jobs and are here to drain the American society, etc. By
creating a view that immigrants are bad to our economy, we begin to racially form this view.
Television shows portrait Mexicans as dirty and uneducated. Jokes about Mexicans are spread
among individuals. Some people may even argue the jokes or the advertisement is harmless.
However, as we permit these type of situations to occur, we are forming the categorization of
Mexicans. In reality, there are Mexicans, or even people from Mexican decent that are great
contributors to our society. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, you name it. We cannot and should
not judge anyone by their background. I've heard how people confuse any Latino, not necessarily
Mexicans with labor workers. Movies even make jokes on how a very influential person gets
confused by the main character of the film as a gardner, or a cook. These type of interactions, even
they are not real, hurt the view of how Mexicans, or anyone that resembles them, such as other

If You Build It, They Will Come: A Story About Inspiration and Heart
In one's lifetime, perspiration and willingness to overcome challenges is crucial to be successful. On
the road to success, passion and striving to get better is often a major method with which one can get
better. Modeled after Field of Dreams, Shoeless Joe, by W.P. Kinsella, is a book where the main
character, Ray, strives forward and advances to reach moral happiness and success.
Personally, I liked the book, as like me, Ray exhibits a desire to win, and a desire to succeed, which
is unmatched helping him drive forward in life.
Personally, I enjoyed Shoeless Joe, due to its fascinating display of great symbols and meaning, as
well as its overall message. I liked how the book started talking about a memory Ray had with his
dad about Shoeless Joe himself. At the end of the book, they go back to that memory, and it is a nice
way to tie the book together. Another aspect that I enjoyed was how Ray fought through a gigantic
economic issue. Ray could not pay off his mortgage, which was a horrible situation, however he
kept striving and improving to build the field, to reach his goal. At this point in the novel, it does
truly get emotional and sad. Knowing that he could only pay off his mortgage for so much more
time, considering what he did, is so amazing. Baseball and the religious connections that Ray has
with baseball forces him to say, "A ballpark at night is more like a church than a church" (Kinsella
160).

In August, 2017 President Trump pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the former sheriff of Maricopa
County, Arizona. In October of that year Judge Susan R. Bolton formally validated that pardon.
Stemming from a 2007 racial profiling lawsuit for ignoring a federal judge's order to end ethnic

he lets him continue with his drive. Later, a black guy is driving and he got pulled over. The cop

From the article, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio Sued, Again, A latino woman claimed, "'I was
interrogated differently and ultimately I was held in custody with no legal basis all because of how
the sheriff views people like me". (Foley n. pag.). This quote shows this woman was treated

question Americans asked of the candidates to gage their likeability. The person who often found
himself on the top of those polls was Joe Biden. A man known for his down–to–earth attitude, Vice
President Biden has had much talk surrounding him in recent weeks about whether he will run for
president. With Hillary Clinton as the clear Democratic frontrunner, many believe it would throw a
whole different dynamic into the race if Biden ran – not only is he the guy that you would want to
have a beer with or the current person next in line to the presidency, but he also has also experienced
recent personal struggles with the death of his son, Beau. With all these story angles to take, the

Political Parties in America Voting is one of the great rights that every American citizen is entitled
to. It gives Americans the chance to voice their pleasure, or displeasure, with those who represent
them in public office by selecting who they believe best represents their values and beliefs. But who
organizes the candidates? What are they affiliated with? The answer is political parties. A political
party is an organization of people who share the same views about the way power should be used in
a country or a society . It is typically accepted that political parties in america serve four functions.
The first being that they selected candidates who best represent them to run for office. The second is
they mobilize voters and convince these voters to vote for their selected candidates. Third, they
facilitate governance by bringing some sort of order to the process of lawmaking. And finally fourth,

Meyer. I watched him on TV when Ohio State played Penn State. The reason I selected Urban
Meyer to do my coaching observation is because he is the coach I decided to model my coaching

His non–verbal communication was just his facial expressions that his players and assistant coaches
can see. His team was losing for most of the game and you could tell he was not happy. Penn State
returned the opening kick off and he looked disappointed, but he kind of kept his composure. Later
in the 2nd quarter during another kick return that was returned pretty far by Penn State his anger was
a little more visible as he was yelling and appeared very angry. Later once Ohio State started to play
better you could see his attitude change and he got happier. I'm not sure if his negative attitude made
his team play worse, it is just something to think about whenever I am a head coach.

Reinforcement techniques are used to increase or decrease a behavior. During a game, especially on
the stage that Urban Meyer is coaching, it is important for his players to play well. Some techniques
that Urban Meyer used to reinforce his players during the game I observed were negative discipline.
His special teams were struggling a lot, especially his kickoff team. They were playing so bad that
he decided to remove multiple players from it and add starters from other positions onto the kick–off

investigating people based on whether they were undocumented immigrants or not. The judge did

You feel like these women could be any one of your friends, almost as if you are also there with the
characters. I think everyone at some point in their life has tried to change themselves because they
thought it is necessary in order for the other person to like them. In this episode, we see Chase try to
impress Jo by changing who she is in order to impress her which is something we all can relate to.
Joe Swanberg is known for his indie films and shooting on 16mm and 35mm film. He also does not
write scripts but writes a one–page outline where he has the characters use improvisation to fill in
the blanks. He focuses on naturalism and has little use for doing more than one or two takes. His

People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than them and

People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than them and might use physically actions to show their dislike. In response to that, more and more people are having their own ideas of how to identify and end racism. For example, Kwame Anthony Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony Appiah who wrote "Racisms", believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. "members of different races differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, –such as honesty or courage or intelligence – that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be acceptable as basis for treating people differently."
